Description: Caspian trout (Salmo trutta caspius) is one of valuable fishes of the Caspian sea for people living in the Northern coastal area of Iran. Since fish stock and natural resources protection is one the Iranian fisheries research objectives, the most activity on Caspian trout rehabilitation was focused on releasing thousands of smolts in the rivers discharge to Caspian Sea. Catch statistics of this species has declined over last decades thus this study on quality of provided brood stocks and producing fries with suitable quality can help rehabilitation and rearing of this valuable species. Several rivers were considered for providing brooders to keep genetic resources variety of sea stocks. In spawning season 25 (9 male, 16 female) and 30 (5 male, 25 female) brooders were collected from fishermen in Mazandaran rivers and Gyilan coasts provinces respectively. After propagation and larvae rearing, 11500 (10-15 g.) and 50000 (less than 10 g.) juveniles were released in Gyilan and Mazandaran rivers respectively.

Description: Epinephelus coioides (family serranidae) is protogynous. This species is one of the most important fishes in food chain of marine proteins of persian Gulf. Therefore knowing about the reproductive biology and physiology of this species is an important role on aquaculture procedures. Monthly samples of Epinephelus coioides were obtained in khozestan Bahrekan province from 2001 to 2002 for annual variation of base line of reproductive hormone. The hormones such as: 17-B estradiol, Testosteron, Progesterone, Gonadotropin I ,II GTHI, II) and cortisol have assayed and also different stages of gonads from the histological point of view were studied by light and electron microscope. Aditional to morphometric and fecundity measurements, the important factors such as : Gonadosomatic index (GSI) Hepatosomotic index (HSI) and Condition factor (KF) were also studied. Environmental factors such as temperature, salinity, photoperiod and pH were analyzed for the determination of effective factors responsible for the changes of reproductive cycles. The flactmation of estroid hormones and gonadotropines show a significant variation in different stages of maturation, e.g 17-B estradiol's concentration in the third stages, GTH II in fourth stages of sexual maturation or final oocyte maturation, plasma Testosteron in post ovulation and Progesterone during maturation indicates the highest levels of above mentioned hormones. The total calcium concentration was high in all year. calcium concentration was correlated with GTH II synthesis and increases with GTH II in June. 17-B estradiol concentration was also correlated with GSI. The high concentration of cortisol throughout the year was an index of stress and development of ovary maturational processes. This species was protogynous synchronous hermaphrodites , and belongs to annual spawning species, being monandric. The sexual transition was found to occure in individuals of 51.2- 105 cm in length. GSI and HSI level confirms the time of spawning period is in April- June. Electrone microscopic studies of gonad tissues showed some changes in mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum in the post ovulation, maturation and post spawning periods. During the monthly sampling the biochemistry of tissues variations indicated decrease in protein and lipid content, but an increase in water content of spawning fishes which was correlated to the maturation of Epinephelus coioides . sex ratio indicative of higher frequences of females to males during monthly sampling periods. The females were smaller than males in sizes, therefore the females lived in 8-15m depth, but males were living in upper limits of depth. The results indicated that the temperature was the most effective parameter in reproductive cycle of Epinephelus coioides and the mean 24°c was a convenient temperature for spawning. Photoperiod was the second effective. factor on the reproductive cycle for this species. It seemed that the increase in the photoperiod between January to May caused a development of the oocyte. Regarding to the results of this research, it seems that the period of spawning in Epinephelus coioides is in May- June and the aquaculture procedure of Epinephelus coioides could be performed in the above mentioned periods.

Description: Kilka fish oil contains the same types of compounds present in other edible fat and oil, their impurities are removed or reduced for use in many food application, therefore kilka oil is produced by wet - rendering process which involve cooking the fish, liquid fraction passed through decantor to seperate the solid fraction and water, treatments such as degumming, alkali refinning, bleaching and deoderising have been carried on crude oil , The refined oil are hydrogenated resulting in a hard fat with a number of desirable characteristics. The final analysis of different kilka oil such as colour, melting point, refractive index , wet, impurities, Iodine value, Anisidine number, soap, Totox number, acid value, Iron, Copper,Nickel, total microbial count, Coliforms, E.coli, Salmonella, Aspergillus and the organoleptic parameters showed that kilka oil can be made suitable for use in many food application if the solid fraction is seperated immediately after pressing Therefore the obtained kilka oil using traditional method is not suitable for human consumption. The results obtained from this project comparing to the previous literatures showed hardened kilka oil in the melting point of 32.5-34 c, refractive index of 1.4657, Iodine value of118 has the best quality and propertics. As a conclusion by a combination of old processes and new concepts kilka oil is not only another competitive food oil but also a family of products with unique composition for today consumer.

Description: Iran is one of ten disaster countries in terms of water crisis. Also, deficit of agricultural soil is a limiting agent for development of agronomy. Moreover, production of organic crops is very important for health nutrition. Tilapia is an important commercial fish because of its fast growth, tolerance to environmental conditions and diseases, possibility of intensive culture, low costs of production and marketable flavor. Production of aquatic and agricultural crops in an aquaponic system would ask these expectations. Aquaponic system that includes combination of hydroponics and water recycling systems was examined for modulated culture of tilapia and agricultural crops at the present study. Tilapia fries with 6.2g and 5.9g mean weight and stocking density of 40/m^3 were respectively stocked in two 2.5m^3 tanks at September 2013 for 9 months. Fish culture in the two tanks tended to 17.2kg/m^3 and 19kg/m^3 fish production with 658g and 596 mean final weigth, 98% and 100% survival and 1.4 and 1.6 food conversion rate (FCR), respectively. Plants were implanted using grow beds, floating rafts and nutrient film methods. Monthly production of mint, basil, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, pepper were 1.14, 0.5-0.8, 1.32, 2.7-4, 2.03-3.4 and 1.1 kg/m^2 crops, respectively.

Description: An artificial Reef is a fabricated, underwater structure, typically built for promoting marine life in areas of generally featureless bottom. Creating artificial reefs began from 2000 in southern provinces in Iran. This study has surveyed about the Bushehr and Khozestan states. The objective is to determine the effectiveness of artificial reefs in attracting and enhancing the production different aquatics through increasing of fish assemblage and fishery. The performance of artificial reefs deployed off the coast of the Persian Gulf in 10 to 15m, was evaluated. The reefs comprised of seven artificial and one control (natural) statistical tests plan in three replicates. Three types of artificial reefs were used in this study. That two were designed reefs and one was not designed or used material. The experimental plan consisted (i) Reef ball (R), designed hemispherical shaped; (ii) Laneh Mahi (L), designed pyramid shaped; (iii) Used material (U); (iv) mixed (RL); (v) mixed (RU); (vi) mixed (LU); (vii) mixed (RLU); and (viii) control site (CS). Trap nets and under-water visual census surveys were adopted for seasonal sampling of fish aggregation. Results of statistical analysis using ANOVA and T-test of the mean Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE) showed significant difference (p〈0.05) in term of computing number of fish for aggregation of fishes. The study has concluded that reef deployments have influenced favorably the fish communities and fish harvests. Therefore, the artificial reefs, especially the mixed RLU, are appropriate tools for future fishing enhancement in the Persian Gulf of Iran.

Description: This investigation conducted for evaluation Silo (Cylindrical) Fish Tanks as an applicable method for aquaculture of Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Current research was designed in two practical phases as accidental experiments through 3 treatments and repeats of which stocked by three Rainbow trout (375 gr) densities as 75, 100 and 125 fish/m3 in 9 silo fish tanks (2 m3). For better understandings of the silo performance method, concrete circular fish tanks (similar volume) considered as controls and stocked as similar fish densities as silo tanks. The duration of the first phase of experiment was 150 days. The second phase of the experiment was determined for evaluating two proposed silo type (Inlet and outlet in bottom side / Inlet from bottom and outlet in upper side). In this stage, proposed silos (stocked by fish of 294 gr weigh) tested for rearing trout for 30 days. Water supplied from two surface wells after some aeration operations. Stocked fish were fed by pellets made by Fish Feed Chineh Company (Ltd) in Iran. Feeding operation conducted according to the recognized manuals by consideration of water temperature, fish weight and biomass. Meanwhile, biometry operation conducted in 10 days intervals while fish were anaesthetized. In addition, water quality was determined by daily measurements. According to the results of the first phase of experiment, there were significant variations on Growth rate, survival rate, FCR, FCE and SGR through the cultured organisms in silo tanks compared to the circular tanks. Meanwhile, according the results of an economic study on this survey, the fish culture in silo tanks showed significant economical and profitable in compare to controls. In additions, the second phase of experiment showed better aeration conditions in silo tanks when inlet water supply from bottom side and outlet located in upper side. Because of the fine distribution of fish in silo tanks and more usage of depth by this method, fish culture would be an applicable and profitable technique in narrow lands and slopes through the mountains area. The maximum stocking rate recorded more than 100 Kg fish/m3 in silo tanks.

Description: During the past decades the environmental status of the Caspian Sea has changed. Therefore, study on the biological structure such as: age, growth, Lm50%, feeding of fishes is necessary. In the present study the biological characteristics of some commercial important species including kilka, kutum, golden grey mullet and carp were studied during 2006-2010. Kutum, golden grey mullet and carp predominated in the catch composition of bonyfishes, representing 61.3, 29.6 and 7.6% of the total catch. The average fork lengths of kutum, golden grey mullet and carp were 38.4, 32.7 and 36.7 cm, and weights were 784.5, 411.0 and 977.0 g, respectively. The values of b in length-weight relationships were 3.02 and 2.97 for kutum and golden grey mullet indicating an isometric growth. The value b for carp was 2.89, indicating an allomertic growth. The maximum age of three species was 12 years. Von Bertalanffy growth equations were estimated as: for kutum: for golden grey mullet: and for carp: The sex ratio of three species showed that females were dominant. Spawning migratory of kutum was started in March. The gonadosomatic index value of kutum peaked in March and April. The spawning season of carp expended from March to August. The gonadosomatic index value of golden grey mullet peaked in September and then declined in November and December. Absolute fecundity of kutum, golden grey mullet and carp were 64400, 700800 and 131000 eggs, respectively. Length maturity (Lm50%) of three species were 39.07, 28.4 and 31.6 cm, respectively. The highest feeding intensity (Gastrosomatic index=GSI) for females and males were 313.9 ± 65.9 and 350.7±103.7 in October; and the lowest value of GSI were 19.4 ±59.2 and 144.1±85.04 in March, respectively. There are significant different between GSI with male and female in difference months (P〈0.05). Main prey mature of Kutum was Cerastoderma lamarki; Gastropoda and Balanus were subordinate, and Crab, Hypanis, Fish (Neogobous sp.) Algae, egg, and scale were random preys. Planktone groups comprise to Exuviaella, Nitzchia, Osillatoria, Synedra, Nematoda, Navicolla, Diatoma, Rholcosphenia were preys juvenile of Kutum. Based on ISI (Important species index), Cerastoderma lamarki and Balanus were dominant species in feeding of Kutum. The percent of empty stomach and prey dominant evaluated during different seasons by specific formula result showed that in Cyprinus carpio prey Molluscs was dominated and specific food items. Empty stomachs in winter and spring were higher and lower, respectively. The results showed that catch of kilka decreased from 22300 mt in 2006 to 16700 mt in 2008, but the CPUE increased from 1.7 mt (Vessel×Night) to 2.5 mt, due to decrease of effort, respectively. The length frequency of three species of kilka is close and the juvenile fish did not see in catch. The age frequency had the same situation as fish lower than 2 years was not in the samples of anchovy and bigeye kilka. The parameters of the von Bertalanffy growth curve were: For common kilka: L =136.5 cm, K=0.249 yr-1 and t0= -1.89 yr-1 For bigeye kilka: L =148. cm, K=0.346 yr-1 and t0= -1.123 yr-1 And for anchovy kilka: L =131.7 cm, K=0.375 yr-1 and t0= -1.243 yr-1 The exploitation rate of anhovy, bigeye and common kilka were 0.51, 0.58 and 0.6, respectively. The highest of GSI for common and bigeye was recorded in May and March, respectively. For anchovy kilka it was in July and November. Main prey of anchovy and common kilka was Acartia tonsa and for bigeye kilka it was Cypris balanus. We concluded that the ecological problems caused by Mnemiopsis leidyi as well as overfishing have been collapsed kilka stocks, particularly anchovy. Therefore, sustainable fisheries management and conservation biodiversity in the Caspian Sea are real challenges now.

Description: Chitin nanofibers are prepared from the exoskeletons of shrimp by a simple mechanical treatment after a series of purification steps. The nanofibers have fine nanofibers networks with a uniform width of approximately 10 nm. Grinders and highpressure water jet systems are effective for disintegrating chitin into nanofibers. Acidic conditions are the key factor to facilitate mechanical fibrillation. Ultrafine fibers were successfully fabricated chitosan and fish skinextracted gelatin via electrospinning (ES). Important ES parameters, such as concentration of aqueous acid and fish gelatin solutions, and electric field intensity were examined to investigate the effects on the morphology of the gelatin nanofibers. Due to the poor mechanical properties of the fish gelatin membranes, composite nanofibers made of fish gelatin and poly(L-lactide)(PLLA) were produced with a novel solution. The introduction of PLLA remarkably improved the mechanical properties of the gelatin membranes. With a combination of good biocompatibility and mechanical properties, fish gelatin/PLGA blending non-woven mats are considered to be very promising in fish fillet coating application.. in this study, we fabricated a novel nanofibers composed of fish collagen (FC) and polycaprolactone (PCL) blends by using the electrospinning method. Nanofibers were characterized using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), and it was revealed that the diameter of nanofibers decreases as FC content was increased in the FC/PCL composite nanofibers. Several modifications to the chitin NF surface are achieved, including acetylation, deacetylation and maleylation. The results of this study revealed that: 1 –It is possible to produce Nanofibers from chitosan and fish gelatin. 2 – Covering and coating of processed fish by nanofibers are applicable and increasing the possibility of shell life for the processed fish. 3 – Nanofibers which have been produced from chitosan and fish gelation not only is environmentally friendly but also it will be eatable while has been covered for fish fillets. biocompatible chitosan and gelatin made from fish, fresh fish fillets do not have the ability to cover and packaging, but is edible and used.

Description: Aquaculture is the most important part of Fisheries Organization duties in Iran. During several planning and developing programs, aquaculture productions had a considerable growth. Due to good potential, these productions were higher than the planed one. The North Alborz regions were investigated by four groups of experts. The regions which investigated were including 3 important provinces (e.g. Guillan, Mazandaran and Golestan). The area where investigated was 940 km along with coastal zone of Caspian Sea or 58678 km2 in total. Around 27% of aquaculture production came from this region. However, subdivision of fisheries can play important role in the economics in the region. The fisheries sub-sector has an important role in the economy of the region, and despite the great potential for agriculture and tourist industries in the North Alborz, there is a significant role in the prosperity of the fisheries activities. In the present study shows that Mazandaran and Guillan provinces has more potential in reservoirs and aquaculture production when compared with other provinces. Productions in Mazandaran either in reservoirs were less than Guillan province. Due to lee in reservoirs, Mazandaran had less investment when compared with Guillan province. The figures show that carrying capacity of aquaculture production for 3 provinces (Mazandaran, Guilan and Golestan) was higher than other provinces in the entire country. Due to, large land base, less investment, more interesting of farmers, no needs of complicated technology, farmer would be able to develop reservoirs as consequences to enhance productions. However, developing reservoirs and supporting of it's; can increase the contribution of warm water species in inland water.

Description: In order to obtaine live individuals of cobia ( Rachycentrun canadum ) , coastal waters of Jask, Sirik, Kolahi , Bandar Abbas, Bandar-e Lengeh ,Bandar-e Bostaneh and Abu moosa ,Hormoz and Qeshm Islands have been surveyed from March 2008 to January 2010 in Northern waters of Persian Gulf (Hormozgan province). All in all 60 alive fishes obtained from fishing boats and transferred to Aquaculture Department of Persian Gulf and Oman Sea Ecological Research Institute (PGOSERI), but 50 of them died and only 10 fish survived. They divided in two groups and cultured in separated concrete tanks. Fished were fed with trush fish twice a day at a feeding rate of 4-5 percent of body weight. Culturing period last about 6 months. All the fishes gradualy died through the culturing period. Average of specific growth rate in group 1 and 2 were about 0/49 and 0/77 respectively. The weight gain for group 1 (WG) was %75 for 75 days of calturing time and % 142 for 190 days of culturing time while for group 2 it was %31 for 54 days of culturing time and % 75 for 190 days . Average weight of fishes belong to group 1 reached from 950(g) to 2150 (g) during 6 months, while group 2 reached from 872(g) to 1271/5 (g) in 3 months. Feed conversion rate (FCR) for group 1 and 2 were respectively about 6.9 and 6.8. With regard to cost of trash fish (about 2000 Rials per kilogram trash fish) the per unit feed cost of cobia production were 13613 and 13730 Iranian Rials per kilogram, respectively for group 1 and group 2. Results revealed that obtaining live individuals of cobia is very difficult and also cobia didn t grow well in concrete tanks but if we have better coopreration of local fishermen and also provide some Equipment such as cages in order to rear cobia in the sea , it is possible to achive more succes and obtaining better results .

Description: The "fisheries and aquaculture industry innovation system" is one of the subsystems of Agricultural innovation system (AIS), also has many characteristics of that system .Since this section contains most of the components and AIS institutions, it can be examined as a part of the national innovation system. Due to the structure of the innovation system in the fishery system, a set of functions and institutions of this system are most important .It is therefore important that the system be analyzed and by reviewing the existing state institutions and functions of this system, the main problems and challenges identified. Understanding of the institutions and functions of fishery innovation system and analyze its problems and provide an improved model for fishery innovation system, is most activity in shaping major policy innovation in fishery sector. This step is very important to conduct innovative activities in the fishery sector. In this study, using a system perspective, the current status of the various factors affecting fishery development was assessed and the main drivers and challenges and solutions to improve the detection and analysis was provided. The results show that during the past eighty years, a number of research centers and educational institutions in the public sector have been developed .but this system, despite having considerable institutional capacity, is still in the middle stages of institutional development. In these years, the policy approach was linear, not system approach, so little attention has been to the development of science and technology intermediary institutions, coordinator organizations, venture capital funds, and the institutions of technology transfer ,particularly in the public sector.

Description: Based on an agreement between Jahad Nasr Hamzeh Company as "the employer" and the Iranian Fisheries Research Organization as "the executor", a project entitled “culture of Huso huso up to 10 kg" was conducted. A total of 600 Huso huso with the average weight of 5000 g were distributed in four 50 m2 circular concrete tanks (4 diameters) with the density of 25 kg/m2 . The experimental system was equipped with aeration. Dissolved oxygen concentration was maintained at 6-7 mg/l. Fish were fed experimental diets composed of 43% protein, 22 % lipids, 16.2% carbohydrates and 22 MJ/kg energy for 12 months. At the end of the first rearing phase (365 d), fish with the mean specific growth rate (SGR) and feed conversion ratios (FCR) of 0.27 and 2.91, respectively reached a weight of 9.06 kg. The highest growth parameters and the best FCR were recorded in spring and autumn. The mean body weight increase (BWI %), specific growth rate (SGR) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) in these seasons were estimated at (0.48, 0.36 % per day), (27.4, 20.13 % during the rearing period) and 1.85 and 1.74, respectively. Results obtained from this project revealed that Huso huso is a prospective candidate for intensive culture in concrete tanks and these results can be developed in many parts of the country.

Description: The Common carp is the most important culture fish in the word, that can be consider as domestic fish. The Common carp of Caspian Sea is one of the economic fish, that have some morphenological differences, resistance in salt water and better quality in meet with domestic once and for using this fish in culture system, it is necessary to establish genetically parameters especially the heritability for selection purpose. The present study have been started from 2007 and lasted 3 years. The breeders were collected from the Gomishan station in south-east of Caspian Sea by fisherman and stocked in S.Rajaei fish restocking center and propagate based on the routine propagation technique in this farm. For heritability estimation a factorial crosses by 7×7 fish were done. Therefore, the fingerlings of 49 crosses were achieved, that kept first separately fiberglass tank and then in pond separately. Weight and length of fish were choice for heritability estimation. The average weight of juvenile common carp in 3 sampling stage of 90, 180 and 360 days, were 5.9, 35.7 and 84.7 gram and length of 9.6, 14.7 and 19.2 cm respectively. The heritability estimation for weight was 0.26 and length 0.25. Selection response based on selection difference by collection the more average breeders among their progeny were 36.4 g that means by selection every generation, there is about 4 percent improving in fish weight.

Description: Hamoun fish, Schizothorax zarudnyi, is an indigenous species of the eastern waters of Iran, which is exclusively found in this region. However recently drought occurrence in the Chahnimeh reservoirs (a semi natural water body) making them vulnerable to extinction. As an appropriate action to address this problem and according to the 3 side contract between Italian Government – UNDP - Islamic republic of Iran Government and the Italian government financial support to reduce poverty in the Province of Sistan-Baluchestan through the reinforcement and dissemination of aquaculture activities the project was developed at the Hamoun Research Unit by the Chahbahar Fisheries Research Center to record the breeding normative of 1 g weight larvae for restocking and other researching purposes. 331 broodstocks of the indigenous species Shizothorax zarudnyi weighing 800-2450 g were collected from the Chahnimeh reservoirs in early autumn, 2006. From 5/3/2007 ( the project is supported and communicated on 2010) , Ovulation was stimulated with three stimulators; pituitary extract (3-6 mg kg-1 body weight), GnRH-A (20-30 mg kg-1 body weight) and anti dopamine (10-15 mg kg-1 body weight) that was given in 2-3 doses to breeders. Of 169 injected breeders , some were injected On mid March of 2007 (12-13 ºC water tempreture) responded to the injection 25% ,while the rest were injected On April of 2008 (14-16 ºC water tempreture) responded to the injection 65%. In the present project of 167 breeders 82 were female and 87 male. Totally 30 female breeders released their eggs in different stages. 20 female breeders released their eggs completely, 3 breeders released half of their eggs and 7 released 1/3 of their eggs. The male breeders just injected in the final dose of hormontrapy and all were ready for releasing sperms however the ovulation in female breeders occurs between 353-428 h ºC and after the final dose of injection. Ripe eggs were stripped from the females and fertilization was done by the dry method. Fertilized eggs were transferred to veis incubators and troughs. Incubation period for eggs differs and larvae hatch out after about 910 days at an average water temperature of 12.5 °C. Maintained at 13-14 °C, complete absorption of yolk sac in Shizothorax zarudnyi larvae occurred after 5-8 days. Larvae were fed with a mixture of powdered milk and egg yolk in this stage followed by decapsulated Artemia cysts and nauplii of Artemia and then on formulated starter diets used for carps . Because the ponds were not ready, larvae were maintained in troughs for about ten days before they were transferred to two 1200 m2 earthen ponds where they reached a body weight of about 1 g. They were then handed over to the Iranian Fisheries department in the region. Larvae were fed with the starter feed SFCO in the earthen ponds. About 350 thousand larvae were stocked in two earthen ponds. Based on the results of present study and other studies we may conclude that artificial breeding in Schizothorax can be successfully achieved at 14-16 ºC in flow through systems using hormone therapy (combination of GnRha and anti dopamine) and larvae could be easily cultured in earthen ponds. However this species exhibits lower growth rates as compared to carps its high expenses could have an important role in economical feasible.

Description: Limnological studies of the Zarrineh River have been performed in order to identify physicochemical and biological characteristics of this river. Water samples from 14 sites along the river length were examined monthly during a year. The results indicated the river was polluted by Saghez and Miandoab Cities sewage to the extent of poly saprob , the extent of pollution at other sites was within the limits of oligo saprob or meso saprob. The results also showed that all dissolved and mineral compositions in this river was safe for drinking but iron concentration and water hardness in the terminal sites near the Urmia Lake are higher than EPA standards for drinking . This can not, however, pose serious problem for warm water fish culture activities. Domestic sewage seem to be the most important pollution source to this river. Although the self-purification capacity of this river seem to be high but large number of polluting sites along the river exceed this capacity.

Description: Fish per capita consumption in the world is 18.8 kg. The value of fish consumption per capita in Iran has reported 9.1 kg. Comparing to the other countries the fish consumption in our country is very low. Therefore the government organizations are going to increase the fish consumption per capita. There are many ways for increasing the fish consumption that can be considered by the countries. Developing the fish production, producing the new fish products, good marketing and trading are the some of the ways. For the achievement to this objective, a comprehensive program should be planned. In seafood consumption the safety of the food is very important. This matter should also be considered by the consumers. Addition of using the fish as food, the aquatics organisms are very interested for producing the biological products. The road map for developing fish processing industries layout is designed for achieving to these proposes. The road map layout were included three chapters. Road map of fish processing, aquatics organism’s biological products, healthy and safety fishery products. Description: Artificial reefs are manmade materials deployed under water in order to improve invironment and increase the exploaitation of fishing area. Usage of artificial technic has developed due to increase of world pupolation and need to supply of protein, aim to restoring of natural spicialy rehabilitation of demersal fishes. It has effecte to increase the production in order sustainable exploitation. Coasts and Islands have destruction due to over harvesting from ecosystems and other activities by humans and natural, These caused many aquatic as demersal fishes has endangered in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea. The artificial reef is one way or method that can improve the environment and restore the aquatic. Iranian fisheries has established an artificial reefs area in west of Kish Island. This area has studied during one year, Data of assembeled fishes and physical sampling were collected in seasonal during spring, summer, autumn and winterd. Ther were tow tritment for sampling as artificial reefs site and a control site. Collected data has analyzed and evaluated by SPSS and Exel. The results showed that there was significant difference between the sites and assembled fishes in artificial reefs were more than control site. Consequently the artificial reefs can be a tool and technic to improve the marine environment and increase the production of fishes, especially the demersal fishes.

Description: For hand feeding of Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella), a kind of fish used in integrated carp culture, two kinds of pellets with Alfa alfa as current food were suggested as follows: 1. Pellet B with low fiber and high protein 2. Pellet C with high fiber and low protein The ingredient ratio was powdered and mixed, by adding water, fiber was made and minced the minced pellet was put on net tray and then in blotter to be dried and ready for use. In this experiment food quality analysis and also food water stability was measured. Regarding sampling, growth rate and weight increase of fish and FCR of each ratio was determined. Results indicates diet C is not able to compete with Alfa alfa from the stand point of weight increase, FCR and price. But diet B with low FCR and higher growth rate and higher price (not meaning ful P 5%) can compete with Alfa alfa.

Description: An ecosystem-based management fishery is a new way of looking at management of living resources. Trophic levels of basic food items, feeding habits, growth and mortality rate of 20 exploited fish species (including commercial and bycatch) are investigated in the Persian Gulf (from the provinces of Khuzestan, Bushehr and Hormozgan,) from 2010 to 2012. The model considers trophic interactions among 12 functional group of the ecosystem involving Phytoplankton, Zeoplankton, Cephalopods, Shrimp, Infauna Benthos, Epifaunal Macrobenthos, Demersal Zoobenthos Feeders, Small Pelagic Planktivorous Fish, Benthoplagic Feeder, Piscivorous, Large Benthic Carnivores And Small Benthic Carnivores. In general 7452 of stomach contents samples were analyzed based on the weight and numerical method and were detected about 40 preys. The results demonstrated gaps in our knowledge on the food web structure. The mean trophic levels were varied from L. klunzingeri (2) to S. tumbil (4.64), while the total catch of some species were fluctuating widely. Result of our study showed that Total mortality varied between 0.45 per year (A. suppositus) to 9.5 per year (P. indicus) and food consumption rate also fluctuated by 1.9 (L. johni ) to 89 (L. lineolatus). The results indicated that some fish species including sardine, Anchovies, small carangids, S. stridens with high frequency in ecosystem, have been occupied in the food web as a wasp-waist. The model showed that most hunters groups live in middle levels in the food web such as N. japonicas, A. latus, P. kaakan, L. nebolusus, P. indicus and T. lepturus . Analysis the catch rate during 2001-2011 reveled that there is a clear trend of declining most of fish species catches in this research except for T. lepturus, P. kaakan and sparids which lead to upset the fundamental ecological balance of the Persian Gulf in future.

Description: The lack of sustainable management programs has resulted in the drastic decline of sturgeons stocks in the Caspian Sea in the past two decades. Legal catch quotas for all Caspian littoral states has dropped from 28500 tons in 1985 to 460 tons in 2007 while caviar production in the Caspian Sea during the same period decreased from 3000 tons to 70 tons. Caviar production in the I.R. of Iran dropped from 305 tons in 1985 to about 11 tons in 2007. The "Strategic and applied research planning for sturgeon management and conservation" was developed with the collaboration of academicians from universities, researchers, experts, fishery authorities and representatives of the executive government to maintain sustainable development and rational management of sturgeon stocks in the Caspian Sea. The preparation and development of this planning was carried out through 121 sessions (2100 person hours) A comprehensive report (375 pg) was prepared which was divided into five volumes; Volume I comprises an introduction, objectives, strategies and planning, present status of production and caviar harvest, catch and export quotas, revenue generated and release of sturgeon fingerlings, Volume II comprises analysis of the problem by constructing a problem tree with 8 broad categories to analyze 344 problems and an objective tree which is the hierarchic flowchart of objectives with 9 broad categories with 241 items, Volume III comprises a review and analysis of previous and ongoing research (414 projects) on different aspects of sturgeon during the past 40 years, Volume IV comprises prioritizing research objectives outlined by the objective tree and finally Volume V which prioritizes primary objectives for 14 executive and 10 research programs. On the basis of the evaluation of the present status and for the sustainable development and rational management of sturgeon stocks a strategic and applied research planning program was proposed and developed within the framework of three primary objectives; 1) Management and sustainable use of Caspian Sea resources (5 programs), 2) Rehabilitation and restoration of stocks (5 programs), 3) Development of aquaculture (4 programs). The applied research program for each proposed executive program was outlined in 10 programs, 42 comprehensive plans and 222 projects. The primary objective on management and sustainable use of Caspian Sea resources includes 5 programs, 14 comprehensive plans and 63 projects, while the primary objective on rehabilitation and restoration of stocks includes 4 programs, 16 comprehensive plans and 87 projects. The primary objective to address sturgeon aquaculture includes 1 program, 12 comprehensive plans and 72 projects. The impacts and outcome of each of these programs was determined and presented. It is evident that if the present situation persists, the catch figures for adult sturgeon specimens and caviar production in Iran will reach zero in 2021. But if concerted efforts are taken and the proposed strategic and applied research planning program is executed (commencing from 2009) we can put a halt to these declining trends. By producing sturgeon fingerlings to restore population abundances, by conserving and protecting them in the Caspian Sea and by conducting applied research we can produce 206.4 tons of caviar by the year 2033. Apart from harvesting caviar from the Caspian Sea we can also annually produce 3000 tons sturgeon meat and 60 tons farmed caviar starting from the year 2023. The total budget proposed for implementation of this program for a period of 14 years (2008-2022) is USD 2483 million. If this budget is allocated in time and the proposed strategic program is properly and totally implemented, we can not only save many sturgeon populations from extinction but also ensure job opportunities for 6000 fisherman, provide 1480 new job opportunities and annually produce 266 tons of caviar which will generate USD 4957 million.

Description: The plan entitled "designing and establishment of ISO/IEC17025 in laboratories of three research centers affiliated to Iran Fisheries Research Organization" was carried out in the frame of three projects from March 2008 for about three years. Among the laboratories of The Persian Gulf ecological research center, the Caspian Sea ecological research center and the national shrimp research center 7, 5 and 3 laboratories were selected for accreditation, respectively. The quality manuals of the test laboratories were written following the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. During the establishment of the system standardization of the test methods, calibration of the equipment, test methods validation and update and improvement of physical conditions of the laboratories were performed. The technical and quality management competence of the laboratories affiliated to the Persian Gulf ecological research center were evaluated by the auditors from DGA (the German Accreditation System for Testing Laboratories), which is signatory of ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation). But in the case of the two other centers, the laboratories were accredited by Iran Accreditation System (IAS). The laboratories officially accredited, after the successful completion of the accreditation process (including implementation of corrective actions for the detected non-conformities). Production of reliable results of the test methods from national and international scientific organizations' point of view as well as facilitation in development of bilateral and multilateral relations with them can be considered as the advantages of the system establishment. Moreover, exchange of the relevant scientific information and experiences among the researchers will be facilitated

The results showed that according to classic classification the Macrobenthose could be categorized into three branches of Arthropod, Annelid and Mollusk. The Chironomidae was the culminate species have been observed in all situation. 30 species of phytoplankton from five families have been recognized where the family of Clamydomonase and Cyclotella were the dominated group. Also eleven group of zooplanktons identify in which Rotatoria with Brachionus continual the dominate group and genus. Chemical analysis of central and northern region of Bardaskan showed to be fresh water and soft to moderate hard with electrical conductivity of less than 0.7 ms/cm. In the desert region in the western and southern side of Bardaskan salinity and hardness increase which comprised from Oligosaline to mesosalin (EC: 0.4 to 7.3 ms/cm). The whole region the pH varied between 7.2 to 8.6 and the average oxygen concentration was 8.2 mg/l with respect the agricultural use of water we suggest that pond ual purposes can be used for trout culture during October to March.

Description: This study was conducted to determine 16 Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons (16PAHs) concentrations in water (during four seasons) and surface sediments (during summer and winter) at eight transects (Astara, Anzali, Sefidroud, Tonekabon, Nowshahr, Babolsar, Amirabad and Turkman) in the southern of Caspian Sea in 20102011. 94 samples of water and 45 samples of surface sediments were collected at 10, 50 and 100 meters depths. In addition, 28 samples of fish (Cyprinus Carpio) were collected during winter and spring. All samples were prepared by Soxhlet and extracting processes and then determined using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrument. Results of current study showed that mean concentration and standard error (±SE) of 16PAHs water were observed 232 (±77), 1268 (±808), 538 (±190) and 151 (±53) µg/l in spring, summer, fall and winter, respectively. In addition, annual mean contents and standard error (±SE) of 16PAHs water were registered 24.10 (±8.12) µg/l. The Hazard Quotation (HQs) were calculated more than unit and belong to Benzo(a)pyrene and Dibenzo(a,h)anthracene compounds. Mean concentration and standard error (±SE) of 16PAHs sediment were observed 0.77 (±0.23) and 1.21 (±0.64) µg/g.dw in summer and winter, respectively. Also, the annual mean contents and standard error (±SE) of surface sediments were observed 0.93 (±0.33) µg/g.dw. The Hazard Quotation (HQs) were calculated more than unit and belong to Fluoranthene, Benzo(a)anthracene, Chryseneand Benzo(a)pyrene. The annual mean contents and standard error (±SE) of edible tissue of Cyprinus Carpio mussels were observed 2.21 (±0.42) µg/g.dw. Annually, pattern of 16PAH compounds were obtained 10, 70, 12 and 8% for 3,4,5, and 6 rings, respectively. Four ring compounds had high content and percentage and 2 ring was not observed in all samples of water. Also, pattern of 16PAH in surface sediments were obtained 31, 56 and 14% for 3, 4, and 5 rings, respectively. Four ring compounds had high content and percentage and 2 and 6 rings were not observed in all samples of surface sediments during two seasons. Result of Diagnostic Ratios analysis (DRs) of sediments showed that the source of oil compounds were petrogenic and pyrogenic in summer and winter, respectively. Based on DRs in water and sediments were observed oil compounds were either petrogenic or pyrogenic with different percentage in the southern Caspian Sea. In conclusion, the results revealed that in the some transects the 16PAHs concentrations of water were above the threshold levels and more petrogenic (85%) sources which represented polluted condition in this area. 16PAHs concentrations of sediments were below the threshold levels and conditions for this region were showed unpolluted. Also, the Caspian Sea sediments were classified in Class 2 (Fair). According to results of the evaluation’s risks to human health associated with consumption of the mussels containing 16PAHs suggest that there is risk for humans.

Description: Due to lack of access to comprehensive and up-to-date information regarding equipment, personnel, laboratory services tariffs and chemicals in the laboratories of Iran Fisheries Research Institute and felt the necessity of having this information for optimal management of the laboratories, it was decided with regard to all information needs in this area and using previous experiences in this regard as well as the experiences of other institutions and related organizations at the national (and even international) level, the system would be designed. The main purpose of implementing this plan was to establish and implement a software system based on web technology to create a comprehensive database of the Fisheries Research Institute's laboratories, so that in addition to organizing information, using periodic reports on various related areas a more appropriate monitoring and management system could be applied. Fortunately, after the design and implementation stages, the system in early January 2011 was fully applicable. The main parts of this system include portal; database; advanced data entry, search and reporting capabilities; direct tests order system and discussion forums.

Description: Incorporation of silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) meat in extruded puffed corn-fish snack was studied. Fish protein concentrate (FPC) was produced by liquid-solid extraction. Ethanol and isopropanol were used as the solvents. FPC extraction efficiency of 19.5% and 9.5% (w/w) were obtained based on fish meat and whole fish respectively. Protein content of isopropanol extracted FPC (93.3%±0.4) significantly (P〈0.05) was higher than ethanol extracted (92.5%±0.3) FPC. On the contrary fat contents were 0.17%±0.4 and 0.65%±0.11 respectively. Puffed corn-fish snack with 2 and 4% FPC as well as 5, 10, 15, and 20% minced fish meat in corn grits was extruded by a single screw extruder. The best formula was evaluated at 15% fish meat and 85% corn grits in the snack base, considering higher protein content, higher consumer acceptability, higher expansion ratio and lower fish smell. Six month storage stability “same as control” was obtained considering chemical, microbial and sensory evaluation according to standard of Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran; when Metalized Biaxillary-Oriented Poly Propylene was used as the packaging material. Incorporation of abdominal muscles (8% of whole fish body which obtained from trimming of fish fillets) on corn-fish snack was not feasible due to low-protein (11.7±0.1 i.e. 34% less than fish meat) and high-fat (14.2±0.1 i.e. 550% higher than fish meat) contents.

Description: This survay has been done from Januray 2000 till May 2002 in Khouzestan costal waters. Four species of grouper were identified from which orange spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides) was the dominant species. For studing environmental parameters and reproductive biology, age, growth parameters and mortality rate samples were collected by fishing ship. Samples were taken montly in 4 days by fishing traps and trawls. In addition, some samples were obtained from Khozestan fish landing centres. Environmental factors such as PH, 02, salinity, water temperature and depth of traping areas, were measured. To identify species, morphometric characteries of 452 individal fishes were measured. Stomach contents of 394 fish were has survaid, from which stomach of 226 fish, and 168 fish had empty stomachs. Percentage of empty stomachs (cv) in males was more than females. Food items found in 73 percent of stomach were crab (11%), shrimps (8.8%) , squids (3.9%), gastropods (17%) and bivalves (0.4%). Feeding intensity in year classes did not obay logic trends The importance relatively indicator (I.R.I) were 81, 9.9, 4, 1.5 and 0.3 percent for fish, crab, shrimp, squid, gastropod and bivalve respectively. For age determination, sagita otoliths of 450 fish were taken and countable sections were obtained from 425 specimens. Relative frequency distribution of opaque and transparent rings showed that each opaque growth ring generates once a year from November to September. It seemed that generation of opaque rings is affected by temperature and photoperiod changes. Correlation between length and age was calculated using Von Bertalanffy's least square method. Following equasion was obtaind: L(t) : 122.27 (1 e 0.146 (t+0.482)) Growth parameters were determined through by Ford Walford equasion and Response Surface and Shepherd subcommands in Elefan program and L00 and K amounts were have determined. Correlation between length and age of 635 fish was determined by gender . Length and age correlation was calculated by exponential model and between total length and standard length by straghit line model. Correlation between age and weight of sagita was calculated by total length and age. The most Correlation was between sagita weight and fish age (r=0.876). Total mortality rate (z) was estimated by Length Converthed Method , Jones and Vanzaling and Powel Wetherall. Total mortality rate was z=0.39. Natural mortality rate, using Pauly method was calculated M=0.32. Fishing mortality (F) was 0.08. Gonads of 425 fishes were surveid within 18 month, from which 363 were female, 46 were male and 16 were sex reversing individuals .Total length of females varied from 26 to 95.5 centimeters while males length varied from 56.5 to 107 centimeters. Sex reversing individuals had a length of 47.5 centimeters, when two years old and 62.5 centimeters at age of 3 years. From the mentioned 425 fish, 401 individuals were matured, containing 339 females and 62 males, 5.47 females against each male. Montly changes of Gonadosomatic Index (GSI) by total body weight and standard length and total body length showed that this index increases from march to May and maximum increase was in May . This experiment was adapted in spawning season. Potential, relative, and absoulate fecundity was estimated by counting eggs in three samples. Total amount of traped fish using special traps was 16182.18 kg from which Epinephelus coioides provided catching 15353.43 kg of it (91.27 %) and By catch was 141.18 kg (8.24 %). Total average CPUE for whole catch was 123.33 kg/day/vessel. Total amount of catch was estimated 232.04 tons, considering CPUE of total catch and total Khuzestan trap ships effort.

Description: This study focused on identification phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthos, fishes and relationship between biotic and abiotic parameters at three stations in the Kan river during 2014. This study identified 19 phytoplankton taxa. The findings showed, the diatoms abundance were dominated in the river. The chlorophytes abundance were recorded the lowest abundance in this study. The nutrients and water temperature were the significant abiotic parameters to increase cyanophytes and chlorophytes abundance in the Kan river. This study identified 26 zooplankton taxa. The Rotatoria and Protozoa abundance were dominated in the Kan river. Based on CCA, there was no correlation between abundance zooplankton and abiotic parameters. The biodiversity index of plankton was between 1.8 and 2 and the lake situation is located in the mesotrophic category. The study of the Kan river fishes showed, only one endemic fish species Capoeta bohsei. The length (between 38 and 270 mm, average 144±86 mm) and weight (between 1.1 and 356 g, average 108.8±146.7 g) of the C. bohsei were varied during the study period. The 19 benthos taxa were identified. The Ephemeroptera was most abundant in the benthos groups. The classification of river based on biology indicator and environmental parameters confimed that water quality is located in the moderate category.

Description: Tish survey prolonged from summer 2011 trough summer 2012. During this period 574 samples of different fish species were investigated for their parasites. Totally 30 species of parasites isolated of the fishes. Some of the isolated parasites are recorded for the first time in Iran. Rafidascaris acus Orientocreadium siluri, Silurotaenia siluri, Acanthocephalus lucii , Argulus foliaceus has recorded for the first time from European catfish, Silurus glanis, and Dactylogyrus inexpectatus has recorded for the first time from Gibel Carp, Carassius auratus gibelio, in Anzali wetland. Statistical comparison of parasites infections and intensity between the different area of Anzali wetland were done. Infection of Pike, Esox lucius, to Diplostomum spathaceum, Raphidascaris acus and Monogenean in western parts of wetland were significantly different from the Eastern and Central areas (p〈0.05). So based on the data have concluded the eastern and central regions of the wetland are more polluted than the western part. Comparing the results of the present study with before ones showed that the composition of parasite species has been changed over time, while the prevalence, intensity and abundance of parasites have been increased. It may be due to changing environmental conditions such as increasing discharge of effluent, eutrophication of the wetland. This results accents to necessity of reconstruction of Anzali wetland with preference of eastern and central regions.

Description: Kutum fish (Rutilus kutum) is an anadromous cyprinid species that spawns in adjusted rivers to the Caspian Sea. Many million fingerlings were artificially produced and annually released in these rivers specifically in Sefidrud River by Iranian Fisheries Organization. In this study were estimated the staying period of Kutum fingerlings in Sefidrud River and its diet and growth. A small piece of the caudal fin was cut as a tagging method. About 50000 and 5200 individuals were marked during July and September 2013, respectively. The marked fish had an average total length 53.2±5.6 mm and body weight 1.11±0.26 g and were released in river around two kilometers of the estuary. The sampling of fishes had been earlier started from Feb. 2012 and continued until Feb. 2013 at five stations. Four stations were along river from three Kilometer of estuary to estuary and one station was in right side of estuary in the sea coast. The results showed that marked samples after releasing time were distributed in all studied area from 3 kilometers of estuary to estuary but they migrate mainly toward Caspian Sea in a short time. However the marked samples were observed in estuary and the sea coast after 6 and 24 hours of their releasing time, respectively, Kutum fingerlings remained in Sefidrud river ecosystem in a longer time, at least until end of our sampling period i.e. 105 days. The coefficient of vacuity index of the natural feeding study was 0.0, 49.0 and 30.6 % for phytoplankton, zooplankton and benthos, respectively. The average of GastroSomatic index, intensity of fullness and condition factor were calculated 6.30±3.25, 174.6±153.2 and 0.92±0.09, respectively. A temporal and spatial variation on main food items were observed in gut content of fish fingerlings from different locations and seasons. Gut contents were generally included 59 genera of phytoplankton, 15 groups of zooplankton and 10 groups of benthos. Nitzschia, Navicula and Synedra were dominated among phytoplankton genera with 45.83, 18.02 and 15.99 %, respectively. Among zooplankton groups; the Rotaria, Moeina and Difflugia were dominated with 22.30, 20.86 and 15.83%, respectively. Chironomidae and Gammaridae were the main food items among fed benthic animals with 83.67 and 11.15%, respectively. Furthermore 48 phytoplankton genera, 32 zooplankton genera and 6 benthic families were identified in ecosystem of Sefidrud river. Bacillariophyta phylum (with 23 genus), Rotatoria (with17 genus) and Chironomidae family were dominated in each mentioned groups, respectively. It is concluded that the Kutum fingerlings stay in Sefidrud River for a long time, although most of them migrate to Caspian Sea during first month after releasing. However dietary indices were normal in studied samples, the condition factor index seems to be low.

Description: In this research in order to assess the possibility of antioxidant effects in quality protection and increase the shelf alife of fish burgers, ascorbic acid as a antioxidant by natural source used in raw uncoated fish burgers and in order to comparison by vacuum packaging, 3 treatments of uncoated fish burgers produced from cultivated silver carp: 1- burgers by common packaging (control) 2- burgers by vacunm packaging 3- burgers by 500ppm Ascorbic acid. Also in order to comparison BHA+BHT antioxidants (that have synergistic effects to each other) effect by vacuum packaging to prevention of lipid oxidation in semi-fried fish burgers 3 other treatments produced too: 1- burgers by common packaging (control) 2- burgers by vacunm packaging 3-burgers by 200 ppm BHA+BHT antioxidants comparatively to fats of product. All of the burgers after production and freezing conserved in -18°c for 6 months (Raw uncoated burgers) and one year (Semi-fried coated burgers). During the storage period chemical, microbiological, and organoleptic tests were down by three repetition monthly. Although peroxide value in raw uncoated fish burgers were higher than standard range even from first month but it seems this factor is not suitable for quality evaluation of uncoated raw fish burgers. Evaluation of TBA index in raw uncoated fish burgers during storage time showed at the end of storage period TBA index for control, vacuum and ascorbic acid treatments were 6.31, 4.76 and 1.29 mg malonaldehyde/kg respectively and taste scores were 5.11, 5.42 and 6.16 respectively. Results indicate the positive effects of ascorbic acid to prevention of lipid oxidation. By attention to TVN, TBA and organoleptic tests 4 mounths for treatments without ascorbic acid by vacuum packaging preference and 6 months shelf life for ascorbic acid treatment have suggested in -18°c temperature. For semi fried fish burger 28 prevention effect for lipid oxidation but vacuum packaging had 32 (without significantly difference,P〉0.05). so we can for %BHA+BHT treatment this property was recommend the use of vacuum packaging instead of antioxidant treatment. By attention to TVN, pH, PV, TBA and microbiological and organoleptic tests we can suggest the 8 months for shelf life time of semi fried fish burgers. In this product TVN was the only limitation factor and exeeded from standard range at 9th month of maintenance.

Description: Carp culture is the most important fisheries subsector. In Iran, warm water fish farming is based on Chinese carps, namely common carp (Cyprinus carpio), silver carp (Hypophtalmichthy molitrix), grass carp (Ctenophrynogodon idella) and bighead (Aristichthys nobilis) carp. These carps are easy to breed in hatcheries in large numbers at little cost, and are distributed to farmers to grow out in ponds or open waters. The characteristics of the carp farming industry in the four main fish farming provinces, Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan and Khouzestan are different. In 1970, shilat (the fisheries organization of Iran) established a carp culture research station in Gilan province, while the first commercial facility for carp culture was established in 1969, supported by Romanian experts. The number of 5 hatchery in two province Khouzestan and Fars have been established. Production of carp fingerlings increased to 114 million pieces by 2003, of which only 15% is produced by shilat. Some 20 private hatcheries produced more than 85% of the carp seed. Stock deterioration in hatchery populations due to poor broodstock management and in breeding depression has bee observed in recent years in Iran. Retarded growth, reduction in reproductive performance, morphological deformities, increased incidence of diseases and mortalities of hatchery- produced seeds have been reported. Brood stock management as a substantial component of fish farming highly depended on hatchery managers, technicians and fish farmers who are maintaining, selecting, reproducing the locally available brood fish. This project was done in 2002-2003, At first statistical number of hatcheries and warm water farms were collected. Questionaries was filled to know what factors is measured in reproduction season by managers. It was observed that only 10 percent of personel were B.Sc and technician expert. At first broodstock supply was in mazandaran probince and also hatchery managers procurement and collected broodstock from cultured farms and other hatcheries. To decreas the stress MS222 was used by 50% of managers. Brood fish by bodyshape, colour and length were chosen or ommited. In fifty percent hatcheries sex ratio 2 : 1 was done. Also in 80% warm water fishes farms silver carp deficiency and deformities was observed. Ne in hatcheries of south and west south of Iran between 10-200 was observed. Recommendations: for chossing broodstock it should be borne have fast growth, goodbody conformation, disease resistance high fecundity. Also brood stock sufficient numbers contributing to an introduction. We also hope to be able to promote the more general message of good gentic management of aquaculture brood fish hatcheries of Iran

Description: This study focused on population structure, biodiversity, and abundance of the Chitgar Lake fishes in October 2014. Based on the lake location fishes samples were collected at 34 stations in water body. In this study identified 8 family belong to 18 species comprised of Cyprinidae (11 species), Cichlidae (one species), Loricariidae (one species), Pangasiidae (one species), Serrasalmidae (one species), Poeciliidea (one species), Salmonidae (one species), and Scaridae (one species) were Identified. Among the fishes just one native fish from Capoeta bohsei species observed during the study. The dominant lake fishes were invasive species Hemiculter leucisculus, Alburnus hohenackeri, Carassius auratus, Carassius gibelio and Pseudorasbora parva. The highest abundance of fishes were H. leucisculus 62 % and A. hohenackeri 35 % by Seine net. Furthermore, those were dominant abundance (69 and 12 % respectively) in Gill net method. Finally in Cast net method A. hohenackeri 38 %, Pseudorasbora parva 21 % and H. leucisculus 17 % were dominated in the shore region. The lowest fishes abundance were P. hypophthalmus and Parrotfish. Overall more than 90 % of the fishes population were invasive and alien species. Thus, the present of invasive fishes and predator fishes luck in the Chitgar lake might be reason for ecosystem ruin, algae bloom, feed competitive, fish disease and trophy level rises.

Description: The present study was conducted from autumn 2003 to summer 2005 with the objective to estimate distribution and relative abundance in different species of sturgeons as a function of seasons, and regions in the west coast of the Caspian Sea (Guilan province).Gillnets with a different mesh sizes (26, 33, 40, 60, 100, and 150 mm) were set up at different depths(2, 5, and 10 m) for 24 h. Data on variations in catch, catch per unit effort(CPUE) and length and age composition of sturgeon species were analyzed statistically. Data on CPUE in each region and depth and mean estimates of length and age in fish were reported for each season and each year of the study period. CPUE during 2004-2005 was 1.32 fish which was 30.1% lower than CPUE (1.89 fish) recorded in 2003-2004.CPUE for all species except A. nudiventris decreased during 2004-2005 as compared to that in 2003-2004. Acipenser persicus caught during 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 ranged from 15 to 45 cm in length and comprised 91.1 and 97.1% respectively of the total sturgeon catch. These fish belonged to the one year age class. Mean length recorded in sturgeon fish caught in 2004-2005 decreased as compared to that recorded in 2003-2004. Significant differences were recorded in total length of fish caught in 2003-2004 and 2004-2005. Results obtained from the present study reveal that the abundance of fish increased from west to east indicating a direct relationship between the general currents found in the Caspian Sea and the higher density of nutrients in the eastern region.

Results of 16 years (1996-2012) fisheries data analysis showed the mean of CPUE (catch/shooting) were calculated for Gill nets, Beach siene and Purse siene as 134, 988 and 2338 kg/shooting respectively. Relationships of catch and effort were determined for Qeshm area (R2=0.94) , Bandar Lengeh area (R2=0.51) and Jask area (R2=0.73) as a polynominal increasing model. Population dynamics parameters using monthly length frequency of 10540 sardine and 8232 anchovy by FiSAT II from Persian Gulf (Qeshm-Bandar Lengeh) and Oman Sea (Jask) fishing areas. Growth parameters K and L∞ of sadine (Sardinell sindensis) were estimated 1.18 y-1 and 19.1 cm in Persian Gulf and 1.11 y-1 and 19.1 cm in Oman Sea, and also for anchovy (Encrasicholina punctifer) were estimated 1.20 y-1 and 9.2 cm in Persian Gulf and 1.18 y-1 and 9.3 cm in Oman Sea. Anually, 5 cohorts for sardine and 2 cohorts for anchovy were estimated using Bhattacharya method in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea. Natural mortality (M) and fishing mortality (F) were estimated for this species, and exploitation rate of sardine were calculated as 0.58 and 0.44, and exploitation rate of anchovy were 0.54 and 0.34 in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea respectively. Length of catch (LC) were calculated 11 cm and 12 cm, and for anchovy 6.8 cm and 6.6 cm in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea respectively. Length – weight relationships of sardine and anchovy were calculated as isometric growth. Results of this study showed that populations of sardine and anchovy in Qeshm and Bandar Lengeh area are a single-unite stock, no enough evidence for discrimination of sardine and anchovy populations in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea. The mean anuall biomass of sardine and anchovy were estimated using Thompson and Bell model 190000 tones in Hormuzgan province. Maximum sustainable (MSY) of sardine and anchovy were estimated between 59721 and 98309 tones in this area. MSY of sardine were calculated 15222 and 3182 ton and MSY of anchovy were 36237 ton and 5080 ton , for minimum of estimated MSY in Persian Gulf ( Bandar Lenghe-Qeshm) and Oman Sea (Jask) respectively. Using yield per recruit of Beverton and Holt model , F0.1 were estimated averagely 1.75 for sardine and anchovy in Hormuzgan province and its showed the underfishing condition. Survey of catch and efforts trend in sardine and anchovy, defined development phase of small pelagic fisheries in Hormuzgan province.

Description: Use and enrichment of live food resource in fish farms have been interested and highly demanded. Crustacean are one of the important groups. The Pontogammarus maeoticus dominated in southern Caspian Sea shore with a high abundance. This study was designed in order to adaptation and usage of amphipoda in fish culture ponds. The first part have been surveyed the laboratory experiments including of; to increasing and developing of P.maeoticus in 200 litter container, the effects of salinity on growth and survival of amphipods in many aquariums, the culture of common carp with amphipods and growth determination of them. Chemical composition analysis of P.maeoticus and carps fed by amphipods in compare to cultured carps from ordinary ponds. Due to concern about common healthy the heavy metal concentration has been measured in P. maeoticus, carp which were fed by amphipods and the cultured carps in earth ponds. In second phase; the adaptation of two amphipods species, P. maeoticus and Obesogammarus acuminatus was studied in fish ponds where some cages with sandy soft substrate had been provided for amphipoda replacement. Also a small surface of ponds surrounded by net and covered by Azola plant, a habitat suitable for to putting of O. acuminatus. Production of amphipoda had not the successfully results in large tanks. Aquariums with Caspian sea water had the prosper results where the specimens were breeding and developing properly, even though in some aquarium with freshwater increased the amphipods number. The chemical composition had not significant difference between two kind of cultured carps while the organic component in amphipoda had a high quality. The better quality of cultured carp by amphipod diet have been confirmed by organoleptic test. The results of heavy metal measurement in amphipoda showed a high concentration which some of them were transmitted to cultured carps. Result of amphipoda replacement in cage was not satisfy and the specimens were died after some days. According to hydro-chemical parameters the oxygen poorness and high trophy levels were the affective factor to abolish of specimens in cages. It seems that there are many type of P.maeoticus that can be adapted in different salinities. The molecular differentiation should be investigated to choose the suitable type of this spices for utilization in freshwater fish ponds. In other hand it can be used in fish culture ponds that will be supplied by brackish water.

Description: Fish cell lines have been used to support many areas of research, beginning with fish viruses and extending into immunology, genetic studies, toxicology, environmental effects, aquaculture and seafood quality and it is the first step in the gene banking, to preserve gene materials. The present study we cultured cell of interior pituitary of the Acipenser gueldenstaedtii gland, as a first attempts in IRAN. FISH cell culture has widespread applications in virology, toxicology and as in vitro models in cytogenetic, biomedical, physiological researches. A cell line has been established from the Acipenser gueldenstaedtii interior pituitary and scales have been used to develop primary cell cultures. Recently, successful primary culture of the interior pituitary gland of Acipenser gueldenstaedtii has been developed by explants method. The present study evaluated the potential of several interior pituitary gland from different developmental stages for development of cell cultures using explants method. Pituitary gland from various stages of the adult Acipenser gueldenstaedtii was collected under standard aseptic conditions. Developing gonads from 15-20-year-old male and female sturgeon were collected during late April and early May2007. In all the cases the tissues were pooled in cold PBS antibiotic antimycotic solution (Sigma Chemicals, USA). The tissues were evaluated for attachment, growth and ability to undergo to produce suspension of cells. Primary cultures were initiated from the above tissues according to our earlier procedures, with certain modifications in the sub cultivation procedure. Briefly, tissues were cut into 1 mm3 size fragments which were seeded into 25 cm2 tissue culture flasks. After appropriate semidrying and addition of minimum essential medium (MEM) (Sigma, USA) supplemented with 15% fetal bovine serum (FBS) (Sigma, USA), cell growth was monitored. A seeding density of 1.5 105 cells as determined by a haemocytometer. The results have been showed the Acipenser gueldenstaedtii interior pituitary cells growth in incubator Co2 in 370 C, the cells adapted in this temperature. They were in Lag phase for 10 days, in log phase on 10- 22 days, and in stationary phase on 23- 28 days, after that they died. So we could produce sturgeon growth hormone from fish pituitary cells culture. By this study we can passage the cells on 21th day, for every week. In this way we can produce continued cell culture and store them for gene banking.

Description: This study was aimed to investigate the effect of different doses of oral diethylstilbestrol (DES) on feminization of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) larvae under the condition of brackish water in Bafgh fisheries research center. This Experiment was comprised of two control groups in two replicates and two experimental ones in three replicates. At the beginning of the trial, a number of 2150 larvae were randomly distributed among 10 replicates that were under treatment for 45 days. The diets in two control groups, i.e. non-treated, C1, and ethanol treated feed, C2, and the ones in two experimental groups, i.e. 200 and 400 mg DES/k of feed, E1 and E2, were administrated to 7 day post fertilization (dpf) larvae for a period of 35 days and then until day 45, the larvae were fed with ordinary feed. At the end of the trial, the gender ratio of larvae in different groups was determined by squash test in 50 randomly selected individuals from each replicate. The results showed no significant differences for gender ratios within control groups (respective male to female ratio in C1 and C2 was 47:53 and 57:43). However, the corresponding ratios within experimental ones, fed with 200 and 400 mg DES/k of feed respectively, was significantly different (P〈0.05). Noteworthy that the percent of females between two experimental groups (E1 and E2) was not significantly different (70.0 and 64.7 respectively) but it was significantly different with ratios in experimental groups (P〈0.05). The total body length and live body weight were determined at the begging and then at day 30 and 45, it was randomly measured in 20 larvae from each replicate. At the beginning of the experiment, the mean body weight and total length of larvae was 0.012 gram and 1.03 centimeter respectively. The respective averages at day 30 and 45 were significantly different among groups (P〈0.05). Survival rate was significantly different among groups (P〈0.05), being highest in E1 and E2 respectively whereas lowest in control ones (56.51 and 58.84 in C1 and C2 respectively).

Description: Annually, increasing antropogenic impact on environment results in a considerable aggravation of the ecological condition and extinction of many species of organisms and a decrease in the abundance of Acipenseridae fish family in the Caspian Sea. Therefore cryopreservation of the sturgeons sperm has become on urgent problem. Thus cryopreservation of gametes and embryos is considered to be one of the ways to preserve gene pool of the fish. In this research the broodfish originated from Turkman and Tazabad fish capture station in south of Caspian Sea. They were stored in fish breeding pond with river water flow for one week in shahyd Marjani and shahyd Rajaei fish farms. The males of broodfish were injected intramuscularly with action dryed sturgeon pituitary at doses of 2.5 mgkg-1 body weight. The sperm was collected 12h later, by a sound connected to 50ml syringe. Activity of fresh sperm wa determined by mean of microscope after its dilution by water. Then the fresh sperm was diluted by cryoprotective medium in proportion of 1:10 containing 0.1 M of Tris-HCl buffer, pH 8.6, 2% dimethyl sulphoxide, 25% yolk of chiken egg and 0.04 M saccharrose. sperm diluted using this way was poured into 1ml syringe and frozen according to two method: immediately or gradually. After 12h to 205h activity of frozen-thawed sperm was determined and used for fertilization. As the result showed that the percentage of foucoundation (success of fertilization) was 27 and the percentage of yolk sac embryo stage was 16.
