Beschreibung: Caspian trout (Salmo trutta caspius) is one of valuable fishes of the Caspian sea for people living in the Northern coastal area of Iran. Since fish stock and natural resources protection is one the Iranian fisheries research objectives, the most activity on Caspian trout rehabilitation was focused on releasing thousands of smolts in the rivers discharge to Caspian Sea. Catch statistics of this species has declined over last decades thus this study on quality of provided brood stocks and producing fries with suitable quality can help rehabilitation and rearing of this valuable species. Several rivers were considered for providing brooders to keep genetic resources variety of sea stocks. In spawning season 25 (9 male, 16 female) and 30 (5 male, 25 female) brooders were collected from fishermen in Mazandaran rivers and Gyilan coasts provinces respectively. After propagation and larvae rearing, 11500 (10-15 g.) and 50000 (less than 10 g.) juveniles were released in Gyilan and Mazandaran rivers respectively.

Beschreibung: Epinephelus coioides (family serranidae) is protogynous. This species is one of the most important fishes in food chain of marine proteins of persian Gulf. Therefore knowing about the reproductive biology and physiology of this species is an important role on aquaculture procedures. Monthly samples of Epinephelus coioides were obtained in khozestan Bahrekan province from 2001 to 2002 for annual variation of base line of reproductive hormone. The hormones such as: 17-B estradiol, Testosteron, Progesterone, Gonadotropin I ,II GTHI, II) and cortisol have assayed and also different stages of gonads from the histological point of view were studied by light and electron microscope. Aditional to morphometric and fecundity measurements, the important factors such as : Gonadosomatic index (GSI) Hepatosomotic index (HSI) and Condition factor (KF) were also studied. Environmental factors such as temperature, salinity, photoperiod and pH were analyzed for the determination of effective factors responsible for the changes of reproductive cycles. The flactmation of estroid hormones and gonadotropines show a significant variation in different stages of maturation, e.g 17-B estradiol's concentration in the third stages, GTH II in fourth stages of sexual maturation or final oocyte maturation, plasma Testosteron in post ovulation and Progesterone during maturation indicates the highest levels of above mentioned hormones. The total calcium concentration was high in all year. calcium concentration was correlated with GTH II synthesis and increases with GTH II in June. 17-B estradiol concentration was also correlated with GSI. The high concentration of cortisol throughout the year was an index of stress and development of ovary maturational processes. This species was protogynous synchronous hermaphrodites , and belongs to annual spawning species, being monandric. The sexual transition was found to occure in individuals of 51.2- 105 cm in length. GSI and HSI level confirms the time of spawning period is in April- June. Electrone microscopic studies of gonad tissues showed some changes in mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum in the post ovulation, maturation and post spawning periods. During the monthly sampling the biochemistry of tissues variations indicated decrease in protein and lipid content, but an increase in water content of spawning fishes which was correlated to the maturation of Epinephelus coioides . sex ratio indicative of higher frequences of females to males during monthly sampling periods. The females were smaller than males in sizes, therefore the females lived in 8-15m depth, but males were living in upper limits of depth. The results indicated that the temperature was the most effective parameter in reproductive cycle of Epinephelus coioides and the mean 24°c was a convenient temperature for spawning. Photoperiod was the second effective. factor on the reproductive cycle for this species. It seemed that the increase in the photoperiod between January to May caused a development of the oocyte. Regarding to the results of this research, it seems that the period of spawning in Epinephelus coioides is in May- June and the aquaculture procedure of Epinephelus coioides could be performed in the above mentioned periods.

Beschreibung: Kilka fish oil contains the same types of compounds present in other edible fat and oil, their impurities are removed or reduced for use in many food application, therefore kilka oil is produced by wet - rendering process which involve cooking the fish, liquid fraction passed through decantor to seperate the solid fraction and water, treatments such as degumming, alkali refinning, bleaching and deoderising have been carried on crude oil , The refined oil are hydrogenated resulting in a hard fat with a number of desirable characteristics. The final analysis of different kilka oil such as colour, melting point, refractive index , wet, impurities, Iodine value, Anisidine number, soap, Totox number, acid value, Iron, Copper,Nickel, total microbial count, Coliforms, E.coli, Salmonella, Aspergillus and the organoleptic parameters showed that kilka oil can be made suitable for use in many food application if the solid fraction is seperated immediately after pressing Therefore the obtained kilka oil using traditional method is not suitable for human consumption. The results obtained from this project comparing to the previous literatures showed hardened kilka oil in the melting point of 32.5-34 c, refractive index of 1.4657, Iodine value of118 has the best quality and propertics. As a conclusion by a combination of old processes and new concepts kilka oil is not only another competitive food oil but also a family of products with unique composition for today consumer.

Beschreibung: Iran is one of ten disaster countries in terms of water crisis. Also, deficit of agricultural soil is a limiting agent for development of agronomy. Moreover, production of organic crops is very important for health nutrition. Tilapia is an important commercial fish because of its fast growth, tolerance to environmental conditions and diseases, possibility of intensive culture, low costs of production and marketable flavor. Production of aquatic and agricultural crops in an aquaponic system would ask these expectations. Aquaponic system that includes combination of hydroponics and water recycling systems was examined for modulated culture of tilapia and agricultural crops at the present study. Tilapia fries with 6.2g and 5.9g mean weight and stocking density of 40/m^3 were respectively stocked in two 2.5m^3 tanks at September 2013 for 9 months. Fish culture in the two tanks tended to 17.2kg/m^3 and 19kg/m^3 fish production with 658g and 596 mean final weigth, 98% and 100% survival and 1.4 and 1.6 food conversion rate (FCR), respectively. Plants were implanted using grow beds, floating rafts and nutrient film methods. Monthly production of mint, basil, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, pepper were 1.14, 0.5-0.8, 1.32, 2.7-4, 2.03-3.4 and 1.1 kg/m^2 crops, respectively.

Beschreibung: An artificial Reef is a fabricated, underwater structure, typically built for promoting marine life in areas of generally featureless bottom. Creating artificial reefs began from 2000 in southern provinces in Iran. This study has surveyed about the Bushehr and Khozestan states. The objective is to determine the effectiveness of artificial reefs in attracting and enhancing the production different aquatics through increasing of fish assemblage and fishery. The performance of artificial reefs deployed off the coast of the Persian Gulf in 10 to 15m, was evaluated. The reefs comprised of seven artificial and one control (natural) statistical tests plan in three replicates. Three types of artificial reefs were used in this study. That two were designed reefs and one was not designed or used material. The experimental plan consisted (i) Reef ball (R), designed hemispherical shaped; (ii) Laneh Mahi (L), designed pyramid shaped; (iii) Used material (U); (iv) mixed (RL); (v) mixed (RU); (vi) mixed (LU); (vii) mixed (RLU); and (viii) control site (CS). Trap nets and under-water visual census surveys were adopted for seasonal sampling of fish aggregation. Results of statistical analysis using ANOVA and T-test of the mean Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE) showed significant difference (p〈0.05) in term of computing number of fish for aggregation of fishes. The study has concluded that reef deployments have influenced favorably the fish communities and fish harvests. Therefore, the artificial reefs, especially the mixed RLU, are appropriate tools for future fishing enhancement in the Persian Gulf of Iran.

Beschreibung: This investigation conducted for evaluation Silo (Cylindrical) Fish Tanks as an applicable method for aquaculture of Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Current research was designed in two practical phases as accidental experiments through 3 treatments and repeats of which stocked by three Rainbow trout (375 gr) densities as 75, 100 and 125 fish/m3 in 9 silo fish tanks (2 m3). For better understandings of the silo performance method, concrete circular fish tanks (similar volume) considered as controls and stocked as similar fish densities as silo tanks. The duration of the first phase of experiment was 150 days. The second phase of the experiment was determined for evaluating two proposed silo type (Inlet and outlet in bottom side / Inlet from bottom and outlet in upper side). In this stage, proposed silos (stocked by fish of 294 gr weigh) tested for rearing trout for 30 days. Water supplied from two surface wells after some aeration operations. Stocked fish were fed by pellets made by Fish Feed Chineh Company (Ltd) in Iran. Feeding operation conducted according to the recognized manuals by consideration of water temperature, fish weight and biomass. Meanwhile, biometry operation conducted in 10 days intervals while fish were anaesthetized. In addition, water quality was determined by daily measurements. According to the results of the first phase of experiment, there were significant variations on Growth rate, survival rate, FCR, FCE and SGR through the cultured organisms in silo tanks compared to the circular tanks. Meanwhile, according the results of an economic study on this survey, the fish culture in silo tanks showed significant economical and profitable in compare to controls. In additions, the second phase of experiment showed better aeration conditions in silo tanks when inlet water supply from bottom side and outlet located in upper side. Because of the fine distribution of fish in silo tanks and more usage of depth by this method, fish culture would be an applicable and profitable technique in narrow lands and slopes through the mountains area. The maximum stocking rate recorded more than 100 Kg fish/m3 in silo tanks.

Beschreibung: During the past decades the environmental status of the Caspian Sea has changed. Therefore, study on the biological structure such as: age, growth, Lm50%, feeding of fishes is necessary. In the present study the biological characteristics of some commercial important species including kilka, kutum, golden grey mullet and carp were studied during 2006-2010. Kutum, golden grey mullet and carp predominated in the catch composition of bonyfishes, representing 61.3, 29.6 and 7.6% of the total catch. The average fork lengths of kutum, golden grey mullet and carp were 38.4, 32.7 and 36.7 cm, and weights were 784.5, 411.0 and 977.0 g, respectively. The values of b in length-weight relationships were 3.02 and 2.97 for kutum and golden grey mullet indicating an isometric growth. The value b for carp was 2.89, indicating an allomertic growth. The maximum age of three species was 12 years. Von Bertalanffy growth equations were estimated as: for kutum: for golden grey mullet: and for carp: The sex ratio of three species showed that females were dominant. Spawning migratory of kutum was started in March. The gonadosomatic index value of kutum peaked in March and April. The spawning season of carp expended from March to August. The gonadosomatic index value of golden grey mullet peaked in September and then declined in November and December. Absolute fecundity of kutum, golden grey mullet and carp were 64400, 700800 and 131000 eggs, respectively. Length maturity (Lm50%) of three species were 39.07, 28.4 and 31.6 cm, respectively. The highest feeding intensity (Gastrosomatic index=GSI) for females and males were 313.9 ± 65.9 and 350.7±103.7 in October; and the lowest value of GSI were 19.4 ±59.2 and 144.1±85.04 in March, respectively. There are significant different between GSI with male and female in difference months (P〈0.05). Main prey mature of Kutum was Cerastoderma lamarki; Gastropoda and Balanus were subordinate, and Crab, Hypanis, Fish (Neogobous sp.) Algae, egg, and scale were random preys. Planktone groups comprise to Exuviaella, Nitzchia, Osillatoria, Synedra, Nematoda, Navicolla, Diatoma, Rholcosphenia were preys juvenile of Kutum. Based on ISI (Important species index), Cerastoderma lamarki and Balanus were dominant species in feeding of Kutum. The percent of empty stomach and prey dominant evaluated during different seasons by specific formula result showed that in Cyprinus carpio prey Molluscs was dominated and specific food items. Empty stomachs in winter and spring were higher and lower, respectively. The results showed that catch of kilka decreased from 22300 mt in 2006 to 16700 mt in 2008, but the CPUE increased from 1.7 mt (Vessel×Night) to 2.5 mt, due to decrease of effort, respectively. The length frequency of three species of kilka is close and the juvenile fish did not see in catch. The age frequency had the same situation as fish lower than 2 years was not in the samples of anchovy and bigeye kilka. The parameters of the von Bertalanffy growth curve were: For common kilka: L =136.5 cm, K=0.249 yr-1 and t0= -1.89 yr-1 For bigeye kilka: L =148. cm, K=0.346 yr-1 and t0= -1.123 yr-1 And for anchovy kilka: L =131.7 cm, K=0.375 yr-1 and t0= -1.243 yr-1 The exploitation rate of anhovy, bigeye and common kilka were 0.51, 0.58 and 0.6, respectively. The highest of GSI for common and bigeye was recorded in May and March, respectively. For anchovy kilka it was in July and November. Main prey of anchovy and common kilka was Acartia tonsa and for bigeye kilka it was Cypris balanus. We concluded that the ecological problems caused by Mnemiopsis leidyi as well as overfishing have been collapsed kilka stocks, particularly anchovy. Therefore, sustainable fisheries management and conservation biodiversity in the Caspian Sea are real challenges now.

Beschreibung: Chitin nanofibers are prepared from the exoskeletons of shrimp by a simple mechanical treatment after a series of purification steps. The nanofibers have fine nanofibers networks with a uniform width of approximately 10 nm. Grinders and highpressure water jet systems are effective for disintegrating chitin into nanofibers. Acidic conditions are the key factor to facilitate mechanical fibrillation. Ultrafine fibers were successfully fabricated chitosan and fish skinextracted gelatin via electrospinning (ES). Important ES parameters, such as concentration of aqueous acid and fish gelatin solutions, and electric field intensity were examined to investigate the effects on the morphology of the gelatin nanofibers. Due to the poor mechanical properties of the fish gelatin membranes, composite nanofibers made of fish gelatin and poly(L-lactide)(PLLA) were produced with a novel solution. The introduction of PLLA remarkably improved the mechanical properties of the gelatin membranes. With a combination of good biocompatibility and mechanical properties, fish gelatin/PLGA blending non-woven mats are considered to be very promising in fish fillet coating application.. in this study, we fabricated a novel nanofibers composed of fish collagen (FC) and polycaprolactone (PCL) blends by using the electrospinning method. Nanofibers were characterized using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), and it was revealed that the diameter of nanofibers decreases as FC content was increased in the FC/PCL composite nanofibers. Several modifications to the chitin NF surface are achieved, including acetylation, deacetylation and maleylation. The results of this study revealed that: 1 –It is possible to produce Nanofibers from chitosan and fish gelatin. 2 – Covering and coating of processed fish by nanofibers are applicable and increasing the possibility of shell life for the processed fish. 3 – Nanofibers which have been produced from chitosan and fish gelation not only is environmentally friendly but also it will be eatable while has been covered for fish fillets. biocompatible chitosan and gelatin made from fish, fresh fish fillets do not have the ability to cover and packaging, but is edible and used.

Beschreibung: The global demand for plastics is increasing due to it wide applications. About 60 to 80 percent of the waste of the marine environment belong to plastic class. There is a lack of information and research on the presence of plastic and micro-plastic contamination in aquatic animals, The present study, therefore examined the frequency, distribution, size, color and type of micro-plastic (MPS) in the gastrointestinal tract of 5 species (n =10) from the coasts of the Chabahar Bay, the Oman Sea in spring, 96. The total number of MPS found in the studied species varied and highest percentage of MPS in the gastrointestinal tract of the fish belonged to fiber (55%), fragments (26%) and pellets (18%). The results of the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis from suspect samples were shown the microplastic samples were found. The most commonly detected polymers were polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and nylon. The results showed that all fish sampled from Chabahar Bay contained MPS. Considering the importance of MPS pollution, it can be suggested by studying this contamination By monitoring the release of plastics on the shores of tourism and fishing in the Chabahar of bay, as a subject of future studies.

Beschreibung: The effects of dietary protein levels were investigated on growth, carcass biochemical composition and apparent digestibility coefficient in Caspian trout, Salmo trutta caspius. The present study was carried out in a completely randomized design with five experimental diets containing five different dietary levels of protein: 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55%, and 15 fish per replication of each with an initial weight of 4.85 ± 0.45 g for 105 days. Average oxygen concentration and water temperature were 7.6 ± 0.68 mg L-1 and 17.7 ± 1.5 °C, respectively, throughout the experimental period. Significantly higher final body weight, weight gain, specific growth rate, protein efficiency ratio and condition factor were observed in the fish fed diet with 40 and 45% protein compared to those fed on the 35 and 55 % protein diets. Feed efficiency ratio in treatments fed 35 and 55 % protein were significantly higher than those of fish fed 40 and 45% dietary protein levels (P≤ 0.05). Crude protein content increased with the increasing dietary protein levels, whereas crude lipid and moisture composition decreased with the increasing dietary protein levels. Therefore, it can be cocluded that increased levels of protein in the diets for juvenile Caspian trout (Salmo trutta caspius) up to 40 and 45% improved growth performance, feed utilization parameter and economic aspect.

Beschreibung: Quality grading and nutrition value determination of fish are nowadays necessary for aquatic processing. The present study was conducted to investigate a new, applied and cheap method of fillet quality grading for common carp (Cyprinus carpio) using fish size, based on mathematical equations. For this reason, 61 specimens of cultured market size carp were used and after filleting, their moisture, lipid, protein, energy and ash content were measured. Then, the relationships between proximate composition components of fillet and fillet length were studied. Results showed that there is an inverse linear regression relationship between logarithm of moisture content and logarithm of fish length (P〈0.05). The results also showed that there is a positive linear regression relationship between logarithm of lipid and energy content and logarithm of fish length (P〈0.05). No significant relationship was found between logarithm of fillet protein and ash content and logarithm of fish length (P〉0.05). Regarding the relationship between proximate composition of cultured carp fillets and fillet length machine fish sorting based on fish length and grading of moisture, lipid and energy content is feasible. We also found it feasible to determine type of processing and proximate composition of the prepared common carp.

Beschreibung: Population growth (length-weight relationship), and reproductive potential (e.g. fecundity, and sex-ratio) of five important fish species (‘mola’: Amblypharyngodon mola, ‘puti’: Puntius sophore, ‘tengra’: Mystus vittatus, ‘shing’: Heteropneustes fossilis and ‘taki’: Channa punctatus) collected from two important fresh water bodies (namely Hilna beel and Beel Kumari beel) Rajshahi, Bangladesh, were studied. Population growth pattern by length-weight relationship (W=aLb ) for the species differed, and exhibited positive allometric growth (P. sophore in Hilna beel), isometric growth (A. mola and C. punctatus in Hilna beel) and negative allometric growth (M. vittatus & H. fossilis in Hilna beel and A. mola, P. sophore, M. vittatus, C. punctatus and H. fossilis in Beel Kumari beel). The results denoted that fecundity of mature females followed a non-linear relationship (F=aLb ) with total length and exhibited positive allometric growth (b〉3) with some exception (A. mola in Hilna beel and M. vittatus in Beel Kumari beel). Fecundity of mature females also increased with total body weight and ovary weight following a linear relationship (F=a+bW). Differences in values of sexratios with seasons for all species in this study may have resulted from different environmental factors as well as breeding seasons. The findings of this study would be useful in imposing adequate regulations for the conservation of these fascinating fishes in the fresh water bodies of Bangladesh.

Beschreibung: One of the compounds of crude oil is Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs). This study was conducted in the toxicology laboratory of Persian Gulf and Oman Sea Research Center, Bandar Abbas in Spring 2005. Four commercial fishes were exposed to Oppm and 12ppm dosages of crude oil in long-term bioassay examination. After 8 days, exposed fish were freezed and packed seprately and then sent them to IBB (Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics) of Tehran University for determination of PAHs accumulated in their muscle. PAHs measurment was done with GC-FID. In this research, the amount of each compound of PAHs and total PAHs in each dosage was calculated seprately for each species. The result of data analysis shows that the mean accumulation amounts of PAHs (SD± Y. ) in tissues of control Pseudorhombus elevates, Euryglossa orientalis, Siganus javus and S. sutor exposed to Oppm dosage of crude oil were 929.66±251ppb, 1009±-11.7ppb, 1131±-35.0ppb and 487.6±4.0ppb and mean accumulation amounts of PAHs (SDA:i ) in those exposed to 12ppm dosage of crude oil were 3843±13.52ppb, 4272±18.77ppb, 2911±3 5. 5ppb and 2309.6±11.3ppb respectively. According to t-test, we concluded that in all four species the accumulation of crude oil in their muscle tissues between two mentioned dosages were significantit difference (P〈0.05). On the other hand, the high amount of PAHs in the control fishes probebly is due to pollution of Persian Gulf.

Beschreibung: Effects of stocking density on growth, food conversion ratio, specific growth rate, percentage of body weight increase in Huso huso were studied in two phases. Juveniles below one year old with an average weight of 92.09±1.72 grams and stocking densities of 1.6, 2.8 and 4 kg/m2 in 3 replicates for 100 days were reared as the phase one group. One year old Huso huso with an average weight of 918.13±21.87 grams and stocking densities of 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 kg/m2 reared for 120 days in 2000 liter fiberglass tanks were the second phase. Results revealed negative impact of density on growth, percentage of body weight, and specific growth rate and food conversion ratio in both phases. In the first phase, lower stocking density (1.6 kg/m2) showed significant increase in growth rate (P〈0.05) as compared to 2.8 and 4 kg/m2 stocking densities resulting in 42.3% and 61 % growth rate respectively. Fish kept at 4 kg/m2 density showed malformed caudal fins and injured body due to higher tensions and contacts. In the second phase, the growth rate of fish decreased with increase in stocking density where fish with lower density (1.5 kg/m2) showed 7.2%, 15.6%, and 19.8% higher weight gain as compared to fish reared at 2.5, 3.5 and 4 kg/m2 stocking density. Analyses showed that with increase in stocking density, feeding area per fish decreases and tension between fish increases that leads to lower feeding efficiency. Based on the results, the recommended optimum stocking density for Huso huso individuals up to 90 grams is 1.5-2 kg/m2 and for fish individuals over 900 grams each the density should be kept at 2.5-3 kg/m2.

Beschreibung: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impacts of diets supplemented with different lipid sources on growth performance, body composition, fatty acid profile, and hepatic antioxidant enzyme activity of juvenile black sea bream, Acanthopagrus schlegeli (initial mean weight, 1.1±0.02g). Four isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets were formulated with either fish oil (FO), soybean oil (SO), linseed oil (LO) or a mixture of SO and LO (SO+LO). The results showed that survival, weight gain, feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratios of black sea bream were not affected by dietary lipid sources (p〉0.05). Liver and muscle of fish fed the SO diet had high concentration of linoleic acid, while those of fish fed the LO diet were high in linolenic acid. Liver and muscle of fish fed the FO diet had significantly (p〈0.05) higher levels of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, compared to fishes fed the SO and LO diets. Superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase enzymes activities in liver of black sea bream were not influenced by dietary lipid sources. Our findings suggest that SO and/or LO can be used as a substitute for FO in black sea bream diets without adverse effects on growth performance and antioxidant enzyme activity, when the essential fatty acid requirements are present in diets for black sea bream.

Beschreibung: The changes in biological structure and growth common kilka were investigation during 2008-2017 in the Iranian waters of the Caspian Sea. Kilka fishing ships discharged theirs catch in three ports : Babolsar, Amirabad and Anzali. The sample based on the length of 5 mm were classified class. Fork length ranged from 52.5 to 142.5 mm and mean (±SD) 101.9±10.5 and fish fork length 92.5-112.5 mm of the population have been dominant (81%)(n= 49759). The slight fluctuations in the average length with values between 100 and 105 mm. During this period, fish of +3 and +4 years old have been dominant with frequency of 80-70%. The stability length and weighted mean of generation growth rate was indicative of relative stability and the average age of common kilka stability, the stability of the population are descendants entered and confirmed. The results showed that in the year 2008 the frequency of young fish 1-2 years was 15.2% of the catch, but gradually in the following years, the abundance of these fish in the hake decreased, so that in 2017, only 10% of the catches were allocated. Reducing overfishing and pressure on young fish stocks is an opportunity to rehabilitate stocks of this species.

Beschreibung: In this study, rainbow trout diet was supplemented with different levels of annatto (Bixa orellana) seed powder and then some blood parameters (i.e. red and white blood cells count, hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit percentage), growth performance and the fillets color was evaluated. The experimental diets consisted of 0 (control), 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75% annatto powder with three replicates. A total of 360 juvenile rainbow trout (100±5 g) were stocked completely randomly in 12 tanks and reared for 40 days. The maximum amount of all measured blood parameters except white blood cells were obtained in supplemented diet with 0.75% annatto seed powder and the minimum amount of the blood indices were observed in control group (p〈0.05). Also, the highest body weight (235 g) was related to 0.75% annatto seed powder and the lowest (108.2 g) was related to control one (p〈0.05). Spectrum of red and yellow colors in the fish fillets were increased by increasing in annatto seed powder level in the diet and the highest values were recorded in the fish fillet fed with 0.75% annatto seed powder in comparison with others (p〈0.05). Therefore, the addition of annatto seed powder at 0.75% in rainbow trout diet has a positive effect on the blood parameters, and on the other hand, by increasing the growth rate and fillet coloring, probably the cost of culturing will reduce and the customer's satisfaction with the fish meat will increase.

Beschreibung: Rutilus frisii kutum, belonging to family Cyprinidae, was reared using mono-culture and poly-culture (combined with Chinese carps) methods. The culturing process were carried out in earthen ponds from 22 May to 23 October in 1992 and 1993. Physical and chemical factors, transparency of the water, sanitary control and growth of the fishes were surveyed monthly. Nitrate and phosphate fertilizer and animal manure (cow and chicken) were applied to facilitate the growth of phytoplanktons and benthoses. Fertilizer usage were regulated according to the results of hydrochemical analyses and the transparency of the water. The fishes were fed on artificial food, concentrated pellet specially made for Rutilus frisii kutum nutrition (KF). Their diet were calculated using the body weight percentage (biomass) as well as their appetite. The essential characteristics of the water including water temperature (15°c - 27.64°c), pH (6.9 - 8.74), dissolved oxygen (4.79 - 7.25 ppm) and trasparancy of the water (often varied between 20 - 30 cm) were measured in the first year. Mean weight of the young fishes in the ponds were 30 gr; after six months the fishes caught in mono-culture ponds had reached 177 gr. By poly-culture method fishes reached 185 gr, and their maximum weight were 300 gr. In the second year the ponds were stocked with young fishes weighing 7 gr. When the fishes in mono-culture and poly-culture ponds were caught, they had reached 168 gr and 192 gr, respectively. Their maximum weight were 250 gr.

Beschreibung: Heavy metals concentration (Cd, Pb, Cu, Ni) in muscle and gill tissue of the fish Barbus grypus was assessed in winter 2007. In total, 60 fish samples were taken from Arvand River and experiments were carried out on two fish tissues (muscle and gill) separated after biometrical measurements. Extraction of the heavy metals was performed using concentrated nitric acid and then A.A.S. was used for measurement of the heavy metals. Results showed 2.83, 16.42, 2.68, 0.77kg of heavy metals for gram dry weight of the fish for cadmium, lead, copper and nickel concentration in muscle tissue and 2.79, 9.03, 6.98, 1.39 in grill tissue. Metal levels in muscle tissue in this research were compared with standards values such as World Health Organization (WHO), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), based on which only lead and cadmium showed higher than standard levels. We found positive linear relationship between metal accumulation levels of cadmium and lead in muscle and gill tissue with total length and weight. There was a significant relationship between copper accumulation level in muscle tissue with weight but not so for the length. There was no significant relationship between copper accumulations level in the gill tissue with length and weight. There was significant relationship between nickel accumulation levels in the gill tissue and the total length and weight but not so for the muscle tissue.

Beschreibung: Fishes are a valuable source of dietary protein and minerals for seafood consumers and are also used in pharmaceutical products (Mozaffarian, 2009). Over the past several decades aquatic ecosystems have been extensively contaminated with pollutants released from domestic and industrial waste waters and other anthropogenic activities in Khuzestan, Iran. Heavy metals such as mercury are considered as one of the four most important pollutants of aquatic life because of their high toxicity and ability to bioaccumulate in tissue of aquatic organisms (Hajeb et al., 2009). The toxicity of Hg is highly dependent on its chemical form. Organic mercury compounds are more toxic than inorganic mercury salts which may bioaccumulate to levels that could increase health risks to seafood consumers (Syversen and Kaur, 2012). Since most mercury in fish tissue is present as methyl mercury (Me-Hg), it has been recommended that T-Hg in tissues can serve as a surrogate for MeHg (Kannan et al., 1998).

Beschreibung: Using glycerin as a solvent of hypophysis powder for inducing ovulation in Acipenser persicus was studied at Shahid Beheshti Sturgeon Fish Reproduction Complex and International Sturgeon Research Institute. The experiment was done using four treatments in five replications. In treatment one, the female fish were injected with glycerin, whereas in treatment two, physiologic serum was used for injection. The females in treatment three were given two injections of glycerin, while those of the treatment four received two injections of physiologic serum. The evaluated factors in the blood serum included 17- ß estradiol and 17- α hydroxy progesterone. The biometry factors were measured as well. The fish in treatment one showed higher frequency of fertilization, more concentration of estradiol and progesterone hormones compared to other treatments, although insignificantly. Treatment with one injection of physiologic serum caused the lowest amount of these factors. The fluidity of ovules in the glycerin treatments were more than physiologic-serum treatments. The ovulation time in the first treatment was shortest. A statistically significant sudden increase in progesterone was detected after hypophysis injection (P〈0.000). A high correlation between the temperature and the maturation time was observed (P=0.0001). The temperature showed a significant correlation with increase in progesterone level (P=0.005). The results indicated that glycerinated hypophysis is a more suitable substance for inducing ovulation than physiologic serum.

Beschreibung: Aquaculture is the most important part of Fisheries Organization duties in Iran. During several planning and developing programs, aquaculture productions had a considerable growth. Due to good potential, these productions were higher than the planed one. The North Alborz regions were investigated by four groups of experts. The regions which investigated were including 3 important provinces (e.g. Guillan, Mazandaran and Golestan). The area where investigated was 940 km along with coastal zone of Caspian Sea or 58678 km2 in total. Around 27% of aquaculture production came from this region. However, subdivision of fisheries can play important role in the economics in the region. The fisheries sub-sector has an important role in the economy of the region, and despite the great potential for agriculture and tourist industries in the North Alborz, there is a significant role in the prosperity of the fisheries activities. In the present study shows that Mazandaran and Guillan provinces has more potential in reservoirs and aquaculture production when compared with other provinces. Productions in Mazandaran either in reservoirs were less than Guillan province. Due to lee in reservoirs, Mazandaran had less investment when compared with Guillan province. The figures show that carrying capacity of aquaculture production for 3 provinces (Mazandaran, Guilan and Golestan) was higher than other provinces in the entire country. Due to, large land base, less investment, more interesting of farmers, no needs of complicated technology, farmer would be able to develop reservoirs as consequences to enhance productions. However, developing reservoirs and supporting of it's; can increase the contribution of warm water species in inland water.

Beschreibung: In order to obtaine live individuals of cobia ( Rachycentrun canadum ) , coastal waters of Jask, Sirik, Kolahi , Bandar Abbas, Bandar-e Lengeh ,Bandar-e Bostaneh and Abu moosa ,Hormoz and Qeshm Islands have been surveyed from March 2008 to January 2010 in Northern waters of Persian Gulf (Hormozgan province). All in all 60 alive fishes obtained from fishing boats and transferred to Aquaculture Department of Persian Gulf and Oman Sea Ecological Research Institute (PGOSERI), but 50 of them died and only 10 fish survived. They divided in two groups and cultured in separated concrete tanks. Fished were fed with trush fish twice a day at a feeding rate of 4-5 percent of body weight. Culturing period last about 6 months. All the fishes gradualy died through the culturing period. Average of specific growth rate in group 1 and 2 were about 0/49 and 0/77 respectively. The weight gain for group 1 (WG) was %75 for 75 days of calturing time and % 142 for 190 days of culturing time while for group 2 it was %31 for 54 days of culturing time and % 75 for 190 days . Average weight of fishes belong to group 1 reached from 950(g) to 2150 (g) during 6 months, while group 2 reached from 872(g) to 1271/5 (g) in 3 months. Feed conversion rate (FCR) for group 1 and 2 were respectively about 6.9 and 6.8. With regard to cost of trash fish (about 2000 Rials per kilogram trash fish) the per unit feed cost of cobia production were 13613 and 13730 Iranian Rials per kilogram, respectively for group 1 and group 2. Results revealed that obtaining live individuals of cobia is very difficult and also cobia didn t grow well in concrete tanks but if we have better coopreration of local fishermen and also provide some Equipment such as cages in order to rear cobia in the sea , it is possible to achive more succes and obtaining better results .

Beschreibung: The "fisheries and aquaculture industry innovation system" is one of the subsystems of Agricultural innovation system (AIS), also has many characteristics of that system .Since this section contains most of the components and AIS institutions, it can be examined as a part of the national innovation system. Due to the structure of the innovation system in the fishery system, a set of functions and institutions of this system are most important .It is therefore important that the system be analyzed and by reviewing the existing state institutions and functions of this system, the main problems and challenges identified. Understanding of the institutions and functions of fishery innovation system and analyze its problems and provide an improved model for fishery innovation system, is most activity in shaping major policy innovation in fishery sector. This step is very important to conduct innovative activities in the fishery sector. In this study, using a system perspective, the current status of the various factors affecting fishery development was assessed and the main drivers and challenges and solutions to improve the detection and analysis was provided. The results show that during the past eighty years, a number of research centers and educational institutions in the public sector have been developed .but this system, despite having considerable institutional capacity, is still in the middle stages of institutional development. In these years, the policy approach was linear, not system approach, so little attention has been to the development of science and technology intermediary institutions, coordinator organizations, venture capital funds, and the institutions of technology transfer ,particularly in the public sector.

Beschreibung: Based on an agreement between Jahad Nasr Hamzeh Company as "the employer" and the Iranian Fisheries Research Organization as "the executor", a project entitled “culture of Huso huso up to 10 kg" was conducted. A total of 600 Huso huso with the average weight of 5000 g were distributed in four 50 m2 circular concrete tanks (4 diameters) with the density of 25 kg/m2 . The experimental system was equipped with aeration. Dissolved oxygen concentration was maintained at 6-7 mg/l. Fish were fed experimental diets composed of 43% protein, 22 % lipids, 16.2% carbohydrates and 22 MJ/kg energy for 12 months. At the end of the first rearing phase (365 d), fish with the mean specific growth rate (SGR) and feed conversion ratios (FCR) of 0.27 and 2.91, respectively reached a weight of 9.06 kg. The highest growth parameters and the best FCR were recorded in spring and autumn. The mean body weight increase (BWI %), specific growth rate (SGR) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) in these seasons were estimated at (0.48, 0.36 % per day), (27.4, 20.13 % during the rearing period) and 1.85 and 1.74, respectively. Results obtained from this project revealed that Huso huso is a prospective candidate for intensive culture in concrete tanks and these results can be developed in many parts of the country.

Beschreibung: The Common carp is the most important culture fish in the word, that can be consider as domestic fish. The Common carp of Caspian Sea is one of the economic fish, that have some morphenological differences, resistance in salt water and better quality in meet with domestic once and for using this fish in culture system, it is necessary to establish genetically parameters especially the heritability for selection purpose. The present study have been started from 2007 and lasted 3 years. The breeders were collected from the Gomishan station in south-east of Caspian Sea by fisherman and stocked in S.Rajaei fish restocking center and propagate based on the routine propagation technique in this farm. For heritability estimation a factorial crosses by 7×7 fish were done. Therefore, the fingerlings of 49 crosses were achieved, that kept first separately fiberglass tank and then in pond separately. Weight and length of fish were choice for heritability estimation. The average weight of juvenile common carp in 3 sampling stage of 90, 180 and 360 days, were 5.9, 35.7 and 84.7 gram and length of 9.6, 14.7 and 19.2 cm respectively. The heritability estimation for weight was 0.26 and length 0.25. Selection response based on selection difference by collection the more average breeders among their progeny were 36.4 g that means by selection every generation, there is about 4 percent improving in fish weight.

Beschreibung: Hamoun fish, Schizothorax zarudnyi, is an indigenous species of the eastern waters of Iran, which is exclusively found in this region. However recently drought occurrence in the Chahnimeh reservoirs (a semi natural water body) making them vulnerable to extinction. As an appropriate action to address this problem and according to the 3 side contract between Italian Government – UNDP - Islamic republic of Iran Government and the Italian government financial support to reduce poverty in the Province of Sistan-Baluchestan through the reinforcement and dissemination of aquaculture activities the project was developed at the Hamoun Research Unit by the Chahbahar Fisheries Research Center to record the breeding normative of 1 g weight larvae for restocking and other researching purposes. 331 broodstocks of the indigenous species Shizothorax zarudnyi weighing 800-2450 g were collected from the Chahnimeh reservoirs in early autumn, 2006. From 5/3/2007 ( the project is supported and communicated on 2010) , Ovulation was stimulated with three stimulators; pituitary extract (3-6 mg kg-1 body weight), GnRH-A (20-30 mg kg-1 body weight) and anti dopamine (10-15 mg kg-1 body weight) that was given in 2-3 doses to breeders. Of 169 injected breeders , some were injected On mid March of 2007 (12-13 ºC water tempreture) responded to the injection 25% ,while the rest were injected On April of 2008 (14-16 ºC water tempreture) responded to the injection 65%. In the present project of 167 breeders 82 were female and 87 male. Totally 30 female breeders released their eggs in different stages. 20 female breeders released their eggs completely, 3 breeders released half of their eggs and 7 released 1/3 of their eggs. The male breeders just injected in the final dose of hormontrapy and all were ready for releasing sperms however the ovulation in female breeders occurs between 353-428 h ºC and after the final dose of injection. Ripe eggs were stripped from the females and fertilization was done by the dry method. Fertilized eggs were transferred to veis incubators and troughs. Incubation period for eggs differs and larvae hatch out after about 910 days at an average water temperature of 12.5 °C. Maintained at 13-14 °C, complete absorption of yolk sac in Shizothorax zarudnyi larvae occurred after 5-8 days. Larvae were fed with a mixture of powdered milk and egg yolk in this stage followed by decapsulated Artemia cysts and nauplii of Artemia and then on formulated starter diets used for carps . Because the ponds were not ready, larvae were maintained in troughs for about ten days before they were transferred to two 1200 m2 earthen ponds where they reached a body weight of about 1 g. They were then handed over to the Iranian Fisheries department in the region. Larvae were fed with the starter feed SFCO in the earthen ponds. About 350 thousand larvae were stocked in two earthen ponds. Based on the results of present study and other studies we may conclude that artificial breeding in Schizothorax can be successfully achieved at 14-16 ºC in flow through systems using hormone therapy (combination of GnRha and anti dopamine) and larvae could be easily cultured in earthen ponds. However this species exhibits lower growth rates as compared to carps its high expenses could have an important role in economical feasible.

Beschreibung: Limnological studies of the Zarrineh River have been performed in order to identify physicochemical and biological characteristics of this river. Water samples from 14 sites along the river length were examined monthly during a year. The results indicated the river was polluted by Saghez and Miandoab Cities sewage to the extent of poly saprob , the extent of pollution at other sites was within the limits of oligo saprob or meso saprob. The results also showed that all dissolved and mineral compositions in this river was safe for drinking but iron concentration and water hardness in the terminal sites near the Urmia Lake are higher than EPA standards for drinking . This can not, however, pose serious problem for warm water fish culture activities. Domestic sewage seem to be the most important pollution source to this river. Although the self-purification capacity of this river seem to be high but large number of polluting sites along the river exceed this capacity.

Beschreibung: The current study has determined the toxicity effects of copper nanoparticles on the some vital organs such as gill, liver and kidney of Caspian Roach; Rutillus caspicus. For this purpose, 120 fishes were used as experimental fishes and exposed to 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5 mg/L of Cu nanoparticles for 21 days, and 30 fishes as control. The mean water temperature of the aquaria was 22±2 ºC, dissolved oxygen 5.2 mg/L, pH at 7±0.004 and the concentration of calcium carbonate was 270 ppm. On the 7, 14 and 21 days after exposing the fishes to Cu nanoparticles, three fish were randomly selected from each aquaria, sacrificed and samples from their gill, liver and kidney were taken and fixed in cold 10 % buffered formalin. Then microscopic sections were prepared and examined by light microscope which showed histological alternations in the gill, liver and kidney tissues. Then blood samples collected for enzymatic and DNA damage evaluation. Histological al-ternation in gills included: hyperplasia, fusion and detachment of secondary lamellae, blood congestion in vascular axis of primary filaments, reduced secondary lamellae length and cellular degeneration. Histolog-ical changes in liver included blood congestion in the central veins, cytoplasmic vacuolation of the hepato-cytes, cellular degeneration, congestion in the blood sinusoids and necrosis of the hepatocytes. Histological changes in kidneys included glomerular shrinkage, severe degeneration in the tubules cells, interstitial tissue and glomerulus, increase in interstitial tissue cells and macrophages aggregation. The most severe alternation of the gill, liver and kidney were in third weeks at 0.5 mg/l concentration. There were positive correlation between concentration and hyperplasia (r=.815, p〈.01), fusion (r=.620, p〈.05), detachment (r=.849, p〈.01), blood congestion (r=.706, p〈.05), degeneration (r=.742, p〈.01). There were positive correlation between time and telangiectasia (r=.611, p〈.05). There were positive correlation between concentration and hepato-cytes hypertrophy (r=.652, p〈 .01), necrosis (r=.768, p〈.05). The activity of antioxidant stress enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT), were measured in the specimens. The maximum level of enzymes activities were in first week at 0.1 mg/l concentration. There were significant difference between treatments and control (p〈0.05). We used comet assay for evaluation of DNA damage. The activity of anti-oxidant stress enzymes were higher in low concentration. DNA damage was significant in all treatments. The most severe DNA damage have seen in third week at 0.5 mg/l concentration. Evaluation of these changes could be useful in estimating the harmful effects of Copper nanoparticles. The degree of damages was more intensive at higher CuNP concentrations. The result of the study showed that CuNPs could cause severe damages on the Caspian roach; Rutillus caspicus and have lethal effects for fish.

Beschreibung: his study has been conducted to extract collagen from the skin of Rutilus kutum from of the Caspian Sea and Scomberomorus guttatus which is one of the tuna species of the Persian Gulf. Acid-soluble collagens (ASC) from the skin of Scomberomorus guttatus and Rutilus kutum were extracted and characterized by Pico.Tag, SDS-PAGE, FTIR and UV spectrophotometry. Then The collagenchitosan gel extracted from aquatic (shrimp, Rutilus kutum and Scomberomorus guttatus fish) was used to evaluation II grade burn wound treatment. Burn treatment was performed in two steps: 1. First step; Determine the most effective collagen-chitosan gel ratio (collagen / chitosan ratio) with three different ratios (1: 3, 1: 1, 3: 1 Rutilus kutum fish collagen-chitosan( RKC0.75, RKC0.5 and RKC0.25) and Scomberomorus guttatus fish (SGC0.75, SGC0.5 and SGC0.25). The second step was to compare the purpose group (collagen-chitosan gel) with the control and control groups in this The rats were divided into 5 groups. The first group (N = 8): 1% collagen gel, the second group : 1% collagen-chitosan gel, the third group: 1% chitosan gel, 4th group : silver sulfadiazine, Group 5: withoud drug. Burn wound healing was evaluated by two methods of measuring wound area and histopathology. Based on the data from the SDS-PAGE and the composition of amino acid, both collagens were classified as type of collagen I. Collagens consisted of two different types of α chains, including α1 and α2, and β component. Also, FTIR analysis revealed the presence of helical arrangements of collagens. Moreover, UV spectrophotometry exhibited that this collagen had an absorbance at 220 nm. According to the basis of dry weight, the extract of collagen in Rutilus kutum and Scomberomorus guttatus ASC were calculated 15.6 % and 14.5 %. Amino acid analysis revealed a much higher glaycin content in the both collagens extracted which accounted to one third of the total amino acids. Besides, proline as an unique amino acid in Rutilus kutum and Scomberomorus guttatus ASC had the specific amount of 89.6 and 86.8 residues per 706.1 residues respectively. The results of the study to determine the most effective ratio of collagen-chitosan in Rutilus kutum based on wound area measurement showed that the group treated with collagen-chitosan gel with a ratio of 1: 1 (RKC0.5) had the greatest effect on burn wound healing and the group Treatment with RKC0.25 had less effect on burn wound healing than the other two groups. The results of the investigation of determining the most effective collagenchitosan ratio in Scomberomorus guttatus fish based on wound area measurement showed that the treated group with collagen-chitosan gel with a ratio of 1: 3 (SGC0.75) on days 5, 10, 15 and 20 And 25 burns had the least wound area than the other two groups, so it had the greatest effect on burn wound healing and the treatment group with SGC0.25 had less effect on burn wound healing than the other two groups, also the Histopathologic results showed that there was no a significant difference between the groups (SGC0.75 and SGC0.5 and SGC0.25) on 15 and 30 days. (P〉 0.05). The results of the comparison purpose group (collagen-chitosan gel) with the control group and the control group in both groups Rutilus kutum and Scomberomorus guttatus fish showed that on the 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th day of burn, the treated group with collagen- Chitosan had a significant difference with the sulfadiazine treated group and the non-drug group (p 〈0.005). The results also showed that the treated group with collagen-chitosan gel was completely improved on day 25 and the treated group with silver sulfadiazine had the highest wound area among the groups. The results of histopathologic study showed that there was a significant difference between the groups in the 15th and 30th burns (p 〈0.05), and the treated groups with collagen gel, chitosan gel and collagen-chitosan gel had higher scores and better results than The two groups of silver sulfadiazine and the group did not burn at day 15 and 30 without using the drug. collagen-chitosan gel can be used as a good candid for second burn healing skin.

Beschreibung: In this research, the effects of oxadiargyl herbicide on physiological, biochemical, and DNA destruction rates of Caspian carp, (Cyprinus carpio) were investigated. For this purpose, 550 specimens of carp were obtained (weighed 15 ± 0.8 g) duration of research was 60 days. Temperature of water was 23-27 C°. The acute toxicity test was performed over a period of 96 hours based on OECD 203 (1992) protocol, and mortality results were recorded at 0, 24, 48, 72 in 96 hours. Chronic toxicity test was performed on the basis of the OECD 204 protocol during a 30-days period. During this period، clinical symptoms and unusual behaviors of fish and important water factors were recorded. Blood sampling was performed after 10, 20, and 30 days of adaption in order to assess the cellular and biochemical parameters of blood. To prepare tissue samples (gills, liver, kidneys, muscles, spleen), after incision, separation and dehydration, clarification and paraffin emulsion were done. Paraffin blocks were prepared and with microtome, sections were prepared 6 micron thickness. Then, these sections were stained with hematoxylin-eosin (H & E). The sections of the tissue prepared with the Japan Nikon Optical Microscope, the Eclipse E600 model were examined and photographed. DNA damage was measured by alkaline comet assay. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software version 17, one-way analysis of variance and Duncan test at the level of 0.05 (mean ± SD). Based on the results, acute toxicity (LC50) was obtained at 0.6 mg/L concentration and chronic liver toxicity was obtained at 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5 mg / L. The Concentration of 0.5 mg/L treatment had the lowest levels of glucose in all of the three periodsections of experiment. Highest amounts of alanine aminotransferase, spartan transaminase and alkaline phosphatase were observed in 0.5 mg/L treatment for all of three experimental sections. The highest total protein and albumin and the lowest cholesterol in the control treatment were obtained. After examination of biochemical parameters of blood, the highest number of red blood cells was obtained in control treatment and the highest number of white blood cells was obtained in 0.5 mg /L treatment. Histological images showed that fish exposed to various concentrations of oxadiargyl herbicide obtained pathologic lesions in most tissues. The lowest levels of hematocrit and hemoglobin were obtained in 0.5 mg / L treatment. In the kidney, hemorrhage in the interstitial tissue, an increase in the number and size of melanomacrophage centers and coverage epithelium cells necrosis were observed in urinary tract tubes. In the liver, the centers of elanomacrophage increased with the myofibrils being separated, and glomeruli and corrugation were observed in most myofibrils. Based on the average DNA degradation results, the highest rate of degradation was observed in the subterminous concentration of 0.3 mg / L (20.5%).

Beschreibung: HUFA (highly unsaturated fatty acids) content is one of the most important indices for determination of food value in fish larvae feeding. The HUFA has also an important role in fish larvae health, growth and survival. Because of this, enrichment methods for increasing of HUFA content in Artemia nauplii was developed. The aim of this study was to determine the impacts of dietary of fish and vegetable oil on Rainbow trout, Oncorhynchs mykiss, body composition. The experiments were carried out in six different treatments with three replicates for 2 weeks. The feeding treatments during the first 10 days included: 1) Commercial diet, 2) A. Urmiana nauplii enriched with fish oil, 3) A. urmiana nauplii enriched with Sunflower oil, 4) A. urmiana nauplii enriched with Canola oil, 5) A. urmiana nauplii enriched with Soybean oil, 6) Newly hatched un-enriched A. urmiana nauplii. The highest concentrations of fatty acids in diet were oleic, palmitotic, linoleic, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and stearic acid, while in larvae tissue of trout in all treatments were oleic, linolenic, linoleic, stearic and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), respectively. The concentrations of eicosapentaenoic acid [20:5(n-3)] in contrast with docosahexaenoic acid [22:6(n-3)] in the Commercial diet were significantly reduced (P〈0.05). The highest concentrations of EPA was observed in nauplii enriched with fish oil in which statistically significant in comparison with the other treatments (P〈0.05). The DHA content in newly hatched non-enriched nauplii and nauplii enriched with vegetable oil were zero. The results showed that vegetable oil (Canola, Sunflower and Soybean) in comparison with fish oil give more suitable results and thus, the present study suggests that early life stage of larvae growth can be feed wih nauplii enriched with Canola oil.

Beschreibung: Microscopic structure of intestine of beluga was studied from hatching until releasing to sea. Larvae were fixed in bouin’s solution, dehydrated and embedded in paraffin wax. Sections of 5-7 μm thick were produced and stained according to standard histological techniques: Hematoxylin-Eosin ( HαE ) and Periodic Acid Schiff ( PAS ). One day old larvae possessed a primordial intestine, which is lined by a simple columnar ciliated epithelium. At 3 days after hatching, an oblique furrow of the digestive tube wall started to develop on the dorsal- posterior region of the yolk sac and divided the alimentary canal into two differentiated regions: the future stomach and intermediate intestine. At this time spiral valve started to differentiate. Granules of embryonic pigment accumulated in the spiral valve lumen forming the melanin plug. At 7 days after hatching intermediate gut and spiral gut were lined by a columnar ciliated epithelium. The terminal section of the digestive tract was differentiated into a short rectal duct lined with a cuboidal epithelium. The urinary bladder connected with rectum at this time. At 13 days after hatching the number of vacuoles filled with lipid increase in intermediate gut and spiral gut. Between 17-19 days post hatching beluga larvae have a period of mixed nutrition. At 25 days after hatching cells of intermediate gut showed long microvilli. At 36 days after hatching the number of goblet cells increased in spiral gut. At 43 days after hatching several intestine glands were visible in connective tissue of intermediate gut which was lined by a simple columnar ciliated epithelium. Between 57-75 days after hatching the number and size of mucosal folds increased in intestine. This information may be useful to improve rearing efficiency of beluga and the other sturgeons.

Beschreibung: In this study age, growth and maturity of Hilsa shad in Khuzestan province were analyzed. 394 number of fishes from marine habitat (Lifeh-Boseif), estuaries (Bahmanshir and Arvand) and rivers (Bahmanshir and Karoon) from February 2014 to September 2014 were collected using commercial fishing with gill net. Total length and wet weight of each fish were measured with precision of 1 cm and 1 gram. Sagittal otoliths were extracted for age determination of the fish. Since the otoliths were fragile, they were sectioned by polishing with sandpapers 800, 1500 and 2000. Then abdominal cavity of each sample were opened for determining sex and maturity stage. Growth parameters were calculated using von Bertalanffy growth function (L∞=58.365, K=0.26, t0=-0.16). Phi-prime constant was obtained 2.95. Length and age at first maturity were obtained 27.32cm and 2.4 g respectively using logistic model to fit a and b parameters with observed data in spawning season.

Beschreibung: The present study aimed to determine the effects of lucantin red and yellow and also astaxanthin on the growth, hematological and immunological parameters, and coloration of the tiger oscar (Astronotus ocellatus). To this end, 120 fingerlings of tiger oscar were equally and randomly divided into 12 aquariums. The fish were fed with experimental diets for 8 weeks. Treatments included diets containing no pigment (control), 100 mg kg-1 lucantin red, 100 mg kg-1 lucantin yellow, and 100 mg kg-1 astaxanthin, with three replicates apiece. At the end of the trial, growth factors, hematological and immunological parameters, and coloration were measured and the obtained data were statistically analyzed. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the control group and other treatments fed with pigments in terms of growth factors (p〈0.05). However, no significant difference was found between treatments fed with pigments in this regard (p〉0.05). The results indicated no significant difference between treatments in hematological parameters (p〉0.05). The results demonstrated that there is a significant difference between the control group and other treatments in terms of lysozyme activity. In addition, a significant difference was observed between treatments 1 and 3 in this regard (p〈0.05). However, there was no significant difference between treatments in other immunological parameters (total immunoglobulin, IgM). The statistical analyses suggested no significant difference between experimental treatments in terms of total carotenoids in the blood (p〉0.05). Statistical analysis of color intensity variation revealed a significant difference between the control group and other treatments (p〈0.05). The study findings showed that lucantin red and yellow and astaxanthin can improve growth factors and coloration and increase lysozyme activity in Tiger Oscar.

Beschreibung: A feeding trial was conducted for sixty days to determine the effect of dietary Aloe vera on parameters related to growth rate, health status and hematological parameters of shirbot (Tor grypus). Two hundred and forty fish weighing 50-60 g were randomly subjected to four different treatments, including a control, T1 (0.1% of A. vera), T2 (0.2%) and T3 (0.5%) in triplicate. Hematological parameters and some growth parameters, including the body weight, total length, condition factor, feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency, specific growth rate and protein efficiency ratio were measured. Administration of fish to different concentrations of A. vera extract led to significant (p〈0.05) increase in total erythrocyte count, packed cell volume, and hemoglobin when compared with the control group. Mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration were increased only in T2 and T3 in comparison with the control. When animals received 5% of A. vera daily, they showed a significant increase (29%) in white blood cells (p〈0.05). Growth parameters were improved with the addition of different concentrations of A. vera to fish food. According to the results obtained, it might be concluded that feeding this species with A. vera extract could likely enhance growth rate and also hematological parameters.

Beschreibung: Variation of hydrochemical conditions, with special reference to adequacy of waters as fish habitats, was traced based on selected hydrochemical parameters obtained during the studies conducted from February 2013 till February 2014 year. The results were compared with earlier studies. The sources of organic pollution were identified, and the effect of biogenic substances on the biomass, as well as the self-purification capability of the river, were assessed. The total suspension exceeded the requirements for waters which are habitats of both salmonid and cyprinid fishes. Compared to the previous years, the load of organic and inorganic matter in the waters of Wiśniówka River increased; this may have resulted from external inflow, neighbourhood of the hatchery but also, to a small extent, from internal supply. The high availability of nitrogen-(NNH_4 + ; N-NO_2 - , N-NO_3 - ) and phosphorus-(total phosphorus; P-PO_4 ^3- ) based biogenic (substances favoured the biomass production, thus contributing to the increase in organic matter load in the river.
