Description: Studies show that there are some freshwater fishes which can survive in brackish and saline waters. Although it is not long that study on the tolerance of fishes against various salinities and effect of salinity on growth rate has been caught up in scientific fields and that only a few fishes have been subjected to such studies, promising results encouraged us to carry out similar experiments on Barbus sharpeyi from cyprinidae Freshwater Barbus sharpeyi transferred to brackish water with different salinity degrees in three stages as follows : 1) Direct transfer from freshwater to waters of 2, 4, 6, ... , 16, 18 ppt salinity 2) Stepwise transfer to waters of 1, 2 3,...., 17, 18 ppt salinity for tolerance studies 3) Stepwise transfer to waters with two degrees difference in salinity, for growth rate studies. In this phase freshwater was taken as control. Statistical analysis Computer analysis of acquired data was carried out using t-student and ANOVA statistic, Analyses were significant at p〈0.05.

Description: The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of natural reproduction of indanger fish in the southern Caspian Sea in Tajan, Haraz,Sardabrood and Chalos rivers, and identify suitable habitats for this species in the study area as a genetic reserve.Sampling of physical and chemical parameters of water, macrobenthic invertebrates and fish fauna was conducted seasonaly in each rivers at selected stations from febrary 2010 during one year. Macrobenthic invertebrate sampling were used bySorber sampler and fish was collected by gill net and electroshocker set with a voltage of 1.7 A and 100-300 V. A total of 53 taxa of macrobenticinvertabrateshave been identified in the four mentioned rivers, in which Tajanriverconsisted of 47 taxa with highest richness.20 species of fish were determined in the studied rivers that 6 of them were non-native species. The results showed that the predominant identified fish species were native in the river. The fish species diversity increases as one moves from the headstream towards the estuaries of the two studied Sardabrud and Chalus rivers. The results of this study showed that the relative abundance of fish species resistant to pollution and hard environmental conditions were much more that sensitive species. physicochemical parameters of water such as; water temperature, DO, BOD5, pH, TSS, TDS, EC, turbidity, nutrients, biodiversity index such as Shanon index, EPT, HFBI, EPT/CHIR, nutrition functioning group and present or absent of fish species showed that there are significant decrease in water qualities from upstraem ratio to down stream (For example, in Tajan river water turbidity varied from 0 at station 1 to 333 NTU at station 6, Which is strongly influenced by sand workshops. As well as the activities of a significant impact of fish farming workshop on the Haraz river water quality). The minimum of HFBI index was 2.84 at station 1 and the maximum was recorded at station 5 with 6.01, and there is not any possibility to natural reproduction of migrated species that are dominant and indanger at downstream. Conditions for natural reproduction of this species in the rivers of srdabrood and Chalus there is to some. In Shahid- Rajaei dam the maximum relative abundance of fish species belonged to Capoeta capoeta, Luciobarbus capito and Squalius cephalus, respectively. These species have different age, length and weight stuctures at Shahid- Rajaei dam inhabitant, and the resourval of this dam and it,s upstream have been preparing auch a favorabile condition that seems there are potentioal of introductionand inhabitant of some of the Migratory and indanger fish species such as Barbels, Sturgeon, Alburnus chalcoides and etc. as genetic reserve for biodiversity preservation.

Description: This project prepared and implemented during 2013-16 with emphasis on to provide the results of the fish larva projects (identification, abundance and distribution) in the Iranian waters of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman which as well as had already been done by Iranian Fisheries Science Research Institute and affiliated research institutes and centers . Since each marine fish stocks management requires increased knowledge of the life cycle and be complete biological information, obviously implementation and increased field research is essential, on the other hand the results and the availability of data and information to operation and coordination with the scientific community at national and international levels is of particular importance. This is on condition that currently, due to the increasing trend researchers and students Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries, the availability of data resulting from studies and research projects and initiatives will be necessary. The site is currently only in view of identification and distribution of marine fish larva has been prepared in Farsi with photo gallery, and English language development and preparation of the site for the international operation there. It is worth mentioning in the same areas and the same site adjacent seas of fish larvae has not been prepared and is not available. So this site can also be considered as reference area. This site is available for researchers, scientist and students as address: http://ifl.ifro.ir/

Description: Samplings were carried out weekly in coastal waters of the Guilan province (Caspian Sea) by a hand net with 0.5mm mesh size during 1996-1997. The results of one year sampling showed that the mean total length(T.L.) of this shrimp (pooled data of females and males) was 28.58±5.58mm (x±SD), and were 26.46±4.30 and 30.01±6.30mm in males and females, respectively. For ovigorus females, mean T.L was 36.16±3.13mm, also the minimum and maximum T.L of the males were 12.6 and 41.1mm, respectively. In females these figures were found 10.7 and 43.4mm, respectively. The length-weight relationship for the males and females were determined as W=0.0002 TL2.97 (R2=92.13) and W=0.00002 TL2.98 (R2=92.84), respectively. Spawning season was determined from May to September. The average absolute fecundity was 796±320, with a range of 360 and 1660. There is a direct retationship between fecundity and T.L. Females provided 59.42% and males 40.56% of the population, the sex ratio deviated from 1:1 (P〈0.05). The growth coefficient of Loa for females, males and pooled data based on powell-wetheral methods were 42.6, 34.4 and 42.5, respectively. The growth coefficient of K based on Shepherd method were 2.1, 2.3 and 2.5 for females, males and pooled data, respectively. Natural mortality rate (M) calculated as 2.29, 2.29 and 2.28 per year for females, males and pooled da1a, respectively. Total mortality rate was calculated as 2.38, 2.50 and 2.61 per year for females, males and pooled data, respectively.

Description: In this research was used sodium chloride in feed supplement to stimulate ion- osmotic regulation system of Rutilus Kutum juveniles (about one gram) in fresh water environment. The purpose of this experiment was to improve survival and growth ability of juveniles’ fish in brackish water during times of transition. The initial average weightes of Juveniles’ fish were 0.91±0.01 g (mean±SE). Experiments carried out in two phases. In step one, the Juveniles’ fish were kept for 15 days in fresh water and fed with commercial diet plus NaCl supplement (control without NaCl supplement, 5, 7 and 10 percent) in four treatments, each treatment inclusive three replication. In the second step, the fish transferred to brackish water (12.5 psu) and fed for 28 days with a commercial diet (without NaCl supplement). The results showed that no change compared to control treatment in renal tissue in step one. The difference between the kidneys were not in fish fed with NaCl supplement and without it. Nevertheless, a significant difference was observed between the size of the glomeruli and renal tubules between fresh and brackish water environments (between stage one and two), (P〈0.05). In step one, were observed in the gill accessory cells in treatments fed salt supplements. At the end of the second step, the number of gill chloride cells in fish fed with salt supplementation was more than control (P〈0.05). In addition, the highest and lowest weight gain was obtained in treatment two and four respectively (P〈0.05), and no significant difference was observed between control and treatment 3 (P〉0.05). The results showed that the fish fed dietary supplements of sodium chloride 10% versus the control treatment had less weight gain. Therefore, the was obtained the highest weight gain and growth performance (condition factor, specific growth rate) and the highest feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio and the lowest feed conversion ratio in treatment 2 with the feeding of 5% NaCl in dietary supplements.

Notes: The photooxygenation of 4-methoxy-7-methyl-5 H-furo[3,2-g][1]benzopyran-5-one (Visnagin, 1) in methanol in absence and in presence of a sensitizer (methylene blue) has been studied, 6-Formyl-7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methylchromone (4a), methyl 7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methylchromone-6-carboxylate (4b) and 7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methylchromone-6-carboxylic acid (4c) could be isolated and identified in each case. The formation can be interpreted in terms of intermediate production of a 1.2-dioxetane like 2.A comparative study on the ozonolysis of Visnagin (1) in ethyl acetate both in absence and in presence of dimethyl sulfide, was also undertaken. Ozone attacks 1 either at the furan ring (to give 4a, c) or at both the furan and γ-pyrone site (to afford 10). Possible reaction mechanisms are considered and the structures of the new products are based upon compatible and spectroscopic evidences.

Notes: N-benzyl-N-methylephedrinium hexachloroplatinate(IV), bromotrichlororhodate(III), and dibromodichlorozincate(II) have been synthesized by reacting ( - )-N-benzyl-N-methylephedrinium bromide with K2PtCl6, RhCl3 · 4H2O and ZnCl2, respectively. The above halometallates have been found to catalyse the asymmetric hydrosilylation of acetophenone and 3-acetylpyridine with diphenylsilane. The hydrosilylation of 3-acetylpyridine in the presence of ( - )-N-benzyl-N-methylephedrinium zincate followed by silyl ether hydrolysis gives 1-(3-pyridyl)ethanol in ca 50% optical yield.

Notes: The electrochemical behaviour of three series of organotin(IV) compounds having the general formula RySnX4-y (R = Me, nBu or Ph, y = 2 or 3, X = Cl; R = Me or Ph, y = 3, X = NO3, N3, NCS, NCO, OAc or OH) have been examined in the non-aqueous solvents dimethylformamide and acetonitrile, at rotating disc electrodes of glassy carbon and gold electrodes. The reduction of tin(IV) in the above series gave a single wave and obeyed the Levich plots at both electrodes in the two solvents. The electrode kinetic parameters and halfwave potentials have been determined, and the effect of solvents and substituents on these parameters have been explored.
