    Comprendiendo la Lectura: Del Nivel Literal al Crítico en Estudiantes de EBA (2024)

    Description: This research book deals with the fact that the moments of reading improve reading comprehension in the literal, inferential and critical levels of the students of the second grade "E" of the advanced cycle of the CEBA "Politécnico Regional del Centro"- Huancayo, it is of quantitative nature, applied type, pre-experimental design, with pre-test and post-test in a single group, non-probabilistic sample. A pre-test was applied to diagnose their text comprehension, then an experimental proposal based on Isabel Solé's reading moments strategy and a post-test to determine the effects. It was statistically demonstrated that the application of this strategy significantly improves reading comprehension at the literal, inferential and critical levels. This is based on the fact that in the pre-test most students achieved scores below 10 (vigesimal scale); but in the post-test most of them surpassed this average in these levels. The calculation showed that there are significant differences between the pre-test and post-test scores of 6.6 points p 〈 0.05.

    Description: Este libro de investigación trata sobre que los momentos de la lectura mejoran la comprensión lectora en los niveles literal, inferencial y crítico de los estudiantes del segundo grado “E” del ciclo avanzado del CEBA “Politécnico Regional del Centro”- Huancayo, es de naturaleza cuantitativa, tipo aplicada, diseño pre experimental, con pre test y pos test en un solo grupo, muestra no probabilística. Se aplicó un pre test para diagnosticar su comprensión de textos, luego una propuesta experimental basada en la estrategia los momentos de la lectura de Isabel Solé y un post test para determinar los efectos. Se demostró estadísticamente que la aplicación de esta estrategia permite mejorar significativamente la comprensión lectora en el nivel literal, inferencial y crítico. Esto se fundamenta porque en el pre test la mayoría de estudiantes alcanzó calificaciones inferiores a 10 (escala vigesimal); pero, en el post test la mayoría superó este promedio en estos niveles. En el calculó se evidenció que existen diferencias significativas entre las puntuaciones del pre y post test de 6,6 puntos p 〈 0,05.

    Description: The Finnish novelist Kaarlo (Kalle) Alvar Päätalo’s (1919–2000) main work, the Iijoki series, consists of 26 novels (comprising ca. 17 000 pages) and was written in 1971–1998. In this book the text corpus in Kielipankki concerning Päätalo’s works is introduced to the readers, as well as the possibilities of digital text mining. This book includes scientific articles concerning the works of Kalle Päätalo. It also gives ideas for the research that can be carried out in the future. The authors of this book are researchers in the fields of history, linguistics and literature, respectively. The research results presented in this book speak for the fact that the Iijoki series is a significant source material for future research, for example from the point of view of oral history, language variation, metalanguage, swearing and the reader’s reception. The possibilities for future research seem to be quite plentiful.

    La política petrolera en el gobierno de la revolución ciudadana: El caso del Campo Sacha (2024)

    Description: In the first part, a summary of oil management from 1972 to the present is made, as well as a description of the oil policy applied by the governments, from the administration of Dr. Oswaldo Hurtado to the administration of Mr. Guillermo Lasso. The second part analyzes the legal environment in the context of natural resources, especially oil, within the framework of the Hydrocarbons Law and the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador. And in the third, we analyze the production in the Sacha Field, awarded to ORNCEM through the specific services contract and according to its two amendment contracts. It concludes with some considerations that should be taken into account and that call for reflection when contracts are proposed and executed whose benefit is not the best for the country. On the other hand, forests are great "cleaners" of carbon dioxide; when they are destroyed, their absorption potential is annulled and, therefore, they contribute to global warming by increasing greenhouse gases, which is why deforestation must be counteracted.

    Description: En la primera parte, se realiza un resumen del manejo del petróleo a partir de 1972 hasta la actualidad, así como también se describe la política petrolera aplicada por los gobiernos, desde la administración del doctor Oswaldo Hurtado hasta la administración del señor Guillermo Lasso. En la segunda, se analiza el entorno jurídico en el contexto de los recursos naturales especialmente del petróleo, en el marco de la Ley de Hidrocarburos y de la Constitución de la República del Ecuador. Y en la tercera, se analiza la producción en el Campo Sacha, adjudicada a ORNCEM mediante el contrato de servicios específicos y de acuerdo a sus dos contratos modificatorios. Se concluye con algunas consideraciones que se deben tomar en cuenta y que llaman a la reflexión cuando se proponen y ejecutan contratos cuyo beneficio no es el mejor para el país. Por otro lado, los bosques son grandes “limpiadores” de dióxido de carbono, al ser destruidos se anula su potencial de absorción y, por lo tanto, contribuyen al calentamiento global del planeta por el incremento de gases de efecto invernadero, razón por la cual, se debe contrarrestar la deforestación.

    Description: The present work starts from the problem when investigating how the same penalty for the crime of Fraudulent Embezzlement affects the principle of proportionality, so it is necessary to refer to Article 387 of the Penal Code, which reads as follows: The public official or servant who appropriates or uses, in any form, for himself or for another, funds or effects whose collection, administration or custody are entrusted to him by reason of his position, shall be punished with deprivation of liberty for not less than two nor more than eight years. It is an aggravating circumstance if the funds or effects were destined for welfare purposes or social support programs. In these cases, the prison sentence shall be not less than four nor more than ten years. According to the Plenary Agreement No. 4-2005/CJ-116, Plenary Jurisdiction of the Permanent and Transitory Criminal Chambers of the Supreme Court of Justice, the elements of the criminal offense of embezzlement are (i) the existence of a functional relationship, (ii) the collection, administration or custody, (iii) appropriation or use, (iv) the recipient: for himself or for a third party, (v) funds and effects. The result was that when punishing with the same penalty in the crime of Fraudulent Misappropriation in its modality of appropriation and use, despite the differences if we appreciate them from a patrimonial perspective or from the perspective of safeguarding the right of property of the public entity, in the modality of use there is an excess in the penalization, affecting the principle of proportionality, reason for which it should have a different treatment.

    Description: El presente trabajo se inicia del problema cuando se investiga de qué manera al sancionar con una misma pena en el delito de Peculado Doloso afecta el principio de proporcionalidad, por lo que es necesario remitirnos al artículo 387 del Código Penal, cuyo tenor es como sigue: El funcionario o servidor público que se apropia o utiliza, en cualquier forma, para sí o para otro, caudales o efectos cuya percepción, administración o custodia le estén confiados por razón de su cargo, será reprimido con pena privativa de la libertad no menor de dos ni mayor de ocho años. Constituye circunstancia agravante si los caudales o efectos estuvieran destinados a fines asistenciales o a programas de apoyo social. En estos casos, la pena privativa de la libertad será no menor de cuatro ni mayor de diez años. Según lo establecido por el Acuerdo Plenario N.° 4-2005/CJ-116, Pleno jurisdiccional de las Salas Penales Permanentes y Transitoria de la Corte Suprema de Justicia, los elementos del tipo penal de peculado son (i) la existencia de una relación funcional, (ii) la percepción, administración o custodia, (iii) apropiación o utilización, (iv) el destinatario: para sí o para un tercero, (v) caudales y efectos. El resultado fue que al sancionar con una misma pena en el delito de Peculado Doloso en su modalidad de apropiación y utilización visten de igual contenido de ilicitud, pese a las diferencias si las apreciamos desde una perspectiva patrimonialista o de salvaguarda del derecho de propiedad del ente público, en la modalidad de utilizar existe un exceso en la penalización afectándose el principio de proporcionalidad, razón por la cual debe tener un tratamiento distinto.

    Description: The volume is a comprehensive handbook of oral history and memory studies in Finland. The Finnish research field has originally emerged at the collaborative intersection of history, folklore studies, and ethnology.     Description: In the southern border area, where Ecuador is located with neighboring Peru. There are two important cantons for its commercial passage, the canton Macará in the province of Loja, and the canton Huaquillas in the province of El Oro. Through the Coordination 7 of the Ministry of Public Health, thanks to the ProSalud Frontera Sur Project, the database of the Automated Daily Registry of Consultations and Outpatient Care was managed, which allowed us to clarify the problems at the public health level in these cantons. It can be observed throughout the text that women present a greater number of diseases compared to men, with the latter remaining stable over the three years for both Ecuadorians and foreigners.

    Description: The organizations demonstrate an adequate conduct based on their organizational culture, which facilitates decision making as well as contracting a good relationship internally and externally, and even being able to apply a good Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with society and its environment. This research aims to determine the impact that ethics and CSR have had in the search to contribute to the preservation of natural resources in Ecuador through social, economic and environmental improvements assumed by socially responsible entities. Therefore, it is based on a documentary and bibliographic methodology by using bibliographic sources, books, journals, scientific articles to have a base supported by the information collected to make a response to the main theme. The results show an increase in the level of interest of the population in issues that affect the environment and generate pollution, while the discussion shows that for Ecuadorian companies, concepts such as CSR are relatively new, causing organizations to overlook the creation of policies for the ethical care of natural resources. This leads to the conclusion that in Ecuador there is evidence of a growth in organizations focused on CSR because of the existence of many companies that do not apply practices to preserve sustainable development, due to the need to avoid expenses and prioritize their income over the environment.

    Description: Las organizaciones demuestran una conducta adecuada basándose en su cultura organizacional, la cual les facilita la toma de decisiones como también contraer una buena relación internamente como externa, e incluso poder aplicar una buena Responsabilidad Social Empresarial (RSE) con la sociedad y su entorno. La presente investigación pretende determinar el impacto que ha tenido la ética y la RSE en la búsqueda para contribuir a preservar los recursos naturales en Ecuador mediante el mejoramiento social, económico y ambiental asumidos por las entidades socialmente responsables. Por ello, se basa en una metodología documental y bibliográfica al utilizar fuentes bibliográficas, libros, revistas, artículos científicos para tener una base respaldada de la información recopilada para efectuar una respuesta al tema principal. En los resultados se evidencia un incremento referente al nivel de interés de la población sobre temas que afectan al medio ambiente y generan contaminación, mientras se aprecia en la discusión que para las empresas ecuatorianas conceptos como RSE son relativamente nuevos, haciendo que las organizaciones pasen por alto la creación de políticas para el cuidado ético de los recursos naturales. Lo cual lleva a la conclusión de que en Ecuador se evidencia un crecimiento en los organismos centrados en la RSE a causa de la existencia de muchas empresas que no aplican prácticas para preservar el desarrollo sostenible, debido a la necesidad de evitar gastos y priorizar sus ingresos sobre el medio ambiente.

    Desarrollo del Pensamiento Creativo: mediante Juegos Libres para Niños (2024)

    Description: The objective of this research work was to evaluate the effectiveness of free games in the development of creative thinking in 5-year-old students of the Educational Institution Nº 329 of Huancavelica. The methodology of free games offers a dynamic and active education to students, which encourages the development of creative thinking in 5-year-old students, through a greater sense of security and self-confidence. This methodology was carried out in a motivating environment and free areas, focusing on dynamic and motivating participation, in order to strengthen their abilities and skills, seeking for them to develop autonomous learning. With the results obtained, it can be affirmed that free games directly favor the development of creative thinking in 5-year-old children, since Student's t-test with 53 degrees of freedom, for independent samples, with a significance of 5%, shows a value of 0.038, which is lower than the value proposed, accepting the alternative hypothesis as valid.

    Description: Este trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la eficacia de los juegos libres en el desarrollo del pensamiento creativo en los estudiantes de 5 años de la Institución Educativa Nº 329 de Huancavelica. La metodología de los juegos libres ofrece una educación dinámica y activa en los estudiantes, la cual incentiva el desarrollo del pensamiento creativo en los estudiantes de 5 años, a través de un mayor sentido de seguridad y confianza en sí mismos. Esta metodología se realizó en un ambiente motivador y áreas libres, centrándose en la participación dinámica y motivadora, con el fin de fortalecer sus capacidades y habilidades, buscando que ellos desarrollen un aprendizaje autónomo. Con los resultados obtenidos se puede afirmar que los juegos libres favorecen directamente en el desarrollo del pensamiento creativo en los niños de 5 años, toda vez que t de Student con 53 grados de libertad, para muestras independientes, con una significancia del 5%, muestra un valor de 0.038 el cual es inferior al valor planteado, aceptando la hipótesis alternativa como válida.

    Description: “Channel Three will entertain you when television gets too serious”, the new entrant in Finland’s broadcast television announced proudly at its launch in 1986. Channel Three was the first fully commercial television channel in the Nordic countries, founded and owned by a group of odd bedfellows: the public broadcaster YLE, its long standing commercial companion MTV and a growing electronics giant Nokia. The plans to start a commercial TV station were first severely opposed by leading politicians, but it was finally approved as a means to fight back international satellite channels and the efforts of major newspaper companies to enter the television market. Drawing from media policy studies and based on archive documents, contemporary media coverage and interviews of the main actors, the book provides a thorough analysis of the stages of Channel Three, indicating how it, despite its short lifespan, contributed profoundly to the commercialization and marketization of television in Finland.

    Description: If the artworld is a battlefield of meanings, the fortunes of discourse did not favour avant-garde art in Finland in the 1910s. The latest trends, introduced by German and Russian artists in three pioneering exhibitions in Helsinki in 1914 and 1916, were dismissed by the Finnish press as foolish and unworthy. This book researches the contemporary reactions and contents of these exhibitions. The works shown in Helsinki included masterpieces from artists such as Chagall, Jawlensky, Kandinsky, Marc, Münter and Rozanova. Today these works can be found in the collections of leading museums in Europe, Russia and the USA. From the Finnish perspective, the turndown in the 1910s proved effective and irreversible. Never again have the local collections had similar opportunities to make a purchase. The rejection of radical international developments and emphasis on narrow nationalistic views left Finnish art lagging behind. This trend was already apparent in 1917 in St. Petersburg, where the Finnish artists were celebrated but their paintings deemed sombre and superannuated.

    Description: Nothing exceptional happened in front of the youth association building in Kalajoki on 9 September 1953. There was a minor confrontation between regional police forces and local youth, but hundreds of similar events happened in small municipalities across Finland. The event took about ten minutes, nobody was seriously hurt, and collective feelings quickly calmed down. However, after extensive investigations, the regional prosecutor thought otherwise and prosecuted half a dozen local men for rebellion against the state in January 1954. The district court agreed. The municipality was shocked, and the Finnish society was taken by surprise. The case ended up in Supreme Court. This book analyses why and how the last rebellion in the history of Finland occurred in a tiny municipality on the west coast of Finland. The analysis is based on historical microsociology that integrates the insights of microhistory and microsociology into event structure analysis and collective memory studies.

    Description: Matti Kurikka (1863–1915) is a multi-dimensional and controversial character in Finnish history. He was a playwright, a journalist, a socialist, and a theosophist, as well as a speaker for sexual emancipation and women's rights. Kurikka was born in Ingria, and his activities spanned not only Finland, but also Australia and North America, in both of which he led utopian communities. This biographical study explores Kurikka as a literary and political figure and a builder of utopias, whose life opens fascinating views on the societal and cultural currents of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The book critically re-evaluates earlier research on Kurikka and highlights forgotten phases of his life by using new source materials found in three continents. The sources include digitized newspapers and periodicals, Kurikka's plays and non-fictional books, oral history, and political cartoons.

    Description: This volume looks at the Finnish-German military alliance (1941–1944) as a translation zone – a multilingual network of military, administrative and civilian encounters that was held together by linguistically versed soldiers and civilians acting as interpreters and translators. It focuses on interpreters and liaison officers of the Finnish Liaison Staff in Rovaniemi, who were assigned to the staffs of the German army units with the task of maintaining communication between the two armies and assisting German troops in their daily matters. Furthermore, attention is paid to Finnish civilians, especially women whose language skills made them candidates for a range of mediation tasks in the German units. The reconstruction of military interpreters’ and liaison officers’ tasks and mediation agency between the two military cultures is based on their war-time weekly reports, whereas the civilian interpreters’ experiences are drawn from a variety of autobiographical accounts, including interviews.

    Description: The rapid expansion of the agricultural frontier as a consequence of deforestation and anthropogenic changes worldwide is a matter of concern for the international scientific community. In addition, in the fight against climate change due to livestock farming, one of the main strategies for mitigating greenhouse gases is the use of sustainable alternatives if products with a high carbon footprint are used, while revaluing local resources. In the case of northern Ecuador, in spite of the limited soil fertility gradient, dairy and/or dual-purpose cattle raising represents one of the strongest links in the family economy. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate production alternatives that allow us to conserve natural resources given the fragility of these megadiverse ecosystems. This book shows that the use of conventional livestock systems degrades natural resources with significant losses in productivity, as well as low economic returns. Consequently, the implementation of silvopastoral systems as an easy-to-install technological alternative is undoubtedly the way to achieve more efficient and environmentally friendly livestock systems, while diversifying the economic income of the population.

Además, frente a una lucha contra el cambio climático por efecto de la ganadería, una de las principales estrategias para la mitigación de gases de efecto invernadero, lo constituyen alternativas sostenibles si uso de productos con alta huella de carbono, revalorizando, además, los recursos locales. En el caso de la zona norte de Ecuador, a pesar de los limitados atributos respecto a gradiente de fertilidad de los suelos, la cría de ganado ya sea de leche y/o doble propósito representa uno de los eslabones más fuertes dentro de la economía de las familias. Por lo tanto, es menester investigar alternativas de producción que nos permitan conservar los recursos naturales dada la fragilidad de estos ecosistemas megadiversos. Mediante este libro se plasma que el uso de sistemas ganaderos convencionales, degradan los recursos naturales con mermas significativas de la productividad, así como bajo réditos económicos. En consecuencia, la implementación de sistemas silvopastoriles como alternativa tecnológica de fácil instalación, es sin duda el camino para alcanzar sistemas ganaderos más eficientes, amigables con el medio ambiente, diversificando además los ingresos económicos de la población.

    Description: Finnish psychiatric practice has been heavily based on institutionalization, and mental hospitals have played important cultural and historical roles in Finland. Our multidisciplinary research focuses on the bodily, spatial, affective, and multisensory aspects of the memories of patients, relatives, staff, and their children. The memories were collected and archived in the Finnish Literature Society in 2014–2015. These 92 written pieces cover the period from the 1930s to the 2010s. They reflect significant changes in Finnish psychiatry and provide crucial insights into the various meanings of mental hospitals in people’s lives, and the social and cultural forces that shape attitudes to and ideas about mental health problems, psychiatric care, and service users today. Drawing on our backgrounds in history, artistic research, and visual, cultural and literary studies, we provide new ways of reading and interpreting the memories and experiences in psychiatry. The study discusses memory, mental hospitals as lived spaces, the history of Finnish psychiatry and the relation between the memories of the different groups of writers. The chapters approach memories from the perspectives of affects and atmospheres, violence and abuse, everyday life at the hospital in the 1930s, feelings of fear and safety in the memories of the children of the staff, and the historically and culturally contingent tensions between hospitals and homes.

    Description: This article analyzes the advertising ethics handled by Ecuadorian companies, making a synthesis of the way in which the social responsibility of the entities or officials linked to their advertising practices is involved. This research is carried out due to the constant changes in advertising nowadays, with the objective of deepening how organizations in Ecuador disseminate advertising and how they direct them to interest groups showing social responsibility. For this, it is based on a methodology of bibliographic review being a qualitative research where data are collected to be evaluated from the general to the particular. Thus, the impact of advertising for product awareness and customer attraction that companies or enterprises currently use is observed from all business-commercial activities. In this sense, it is necessary to review the ethics in advertising, the approach to stakeholders, the management of social responsibility as well as its regulation within companies, in order to learn new advertising techniques and methods for companies to comply with responsibility to generate advertising strategies with an ethical approach.

Esta investigación se lleva a efecto por los constantes cambios de la publicidad en nuestros días, con el objetivo de profundizar como las organizaciones en Ecuador difunden publicidad y como las direccionan a los grupos de interés mostrando una responsabilidad social. Para ello, se basa en una metodología de revisión bibliográfica siendo una investigación cualitativa donde se recogen datos para ser evaluados desde lo general a lo particular. Así se observa desde toda actividad empresarial-comercial el impacto de la publicidad para el conocimiento de productos y atracción de clientes que las empresas o emprendimientos utilizan actualmente. En este sentido se hace necesaria la revisión de la ética en la publicidad, el enfoque de los grupos de interés, el manejo de la responsabilidad social tanto como su regulación dentro de las empresas, con el fin de conocer nuevas técnicas publicitarias y métodos para que las empresas cumplan con responsabilidad para generar estrategias publicitarias con un enfoque ético.

    Description: This book is the first Finnish-language collection of research on superdiversity. At the core of the book is the growing migration to Finland since the turn of the 1990s and its numerous effects on Finnish society. The interdisciplinary examination of superdiversity is important at the current moment: Finland as a society has reached the point where certain social categories, such as ethnic background, country of birth, mother tongue or gender, are not necessarily sufficient to understand the increased diversity and its consequences. The book consists of a comprehensive introduction to the topic and thirteen chapters. In Finland, research on superdiversity is carried out especially in critical sociolinguistics and applied language studies, education, cultural studies, social sciences, and urban studies. Therefore, these disciplines are strongly represented in the collection, and the chapters approach a variety of topics including refugees’ mental health, experiences of multilingual families, the diversity of education and working life, discursive practices in social media, issues of urban planning and pro-asylum activism.

    Description: Finnish Lapland is a historical borderland of Finnish and Sámi cultures. Such a region offers various social-political identifications for people to choose: people may see it possible to identify as Finnish, Laplanders, Lappish or Sámi, for instance. However, the choices have social and political limits, and some identifications are more contested than others. The book examines the processes of identifications in the middle parts of Lapland, just south of the region defined as Sámi homeland in Finland. While the study reveals differences and nuances in people’s thinking, it also shows that there is a recognizable sense of shared cultural specifity around the region. Lapland is conceptualized as an extraordinary place with unusual nature and history, characterized by particular livelihoods (such as reindeer herding) and lively cultural interaction. The book concludes that while Lapland is extraordinary as a historical dwelling region of indigenous Sámi, it may be politically significant to recognize it as a unique borderland of cultures with features of its own.

    Description: Mechthild of Hackeborn represents medieval mysticism. Her Revelations were written down in the 1290s in Helfta, Germany. The oldest surviving versions are in Latin, but in the Middle Ages, the Revelations were translated at least into Dutch, English, Swedish, and German. The text was translated into Swedish in 1469 by Jöns Budde, a Bridgettine brother from Naantali. Budde made few omissions but many additions in the text, mainly explanations to meet the needs of the Bridgettine sisters. Budde’s translation is faithful to the original text, and he made few mistakes. My Finnish translation of the text follows Budde’s version where possible. However, Budde translated an abridged version that omitted some chapters, and the only surviving copy of Budde’s translation is incomplete. I have therefore translated the missing sections from Latin and incorporated them in the text. My translation also includes editorial comments on the language, the contents, and the historical and theological contexts of the Revelations.

    Description: The business world is made up of a market system where participants form a large network to exchange their products or services, however, due to the constant change in supply and demand, the various enterprises and companies must adopt to obtain funding, improve their practices, innovate in technological aspect and even launch new businesses, etc. The objective of the article is to analyze the way in which ethics is related to market systems, due to the change that exists in the working environment where all the actors, functions and issues of a sub-sector of products are interconnected. The bibliographic review methodology is applied based on registered publications of articles that include criteria of labor market, ethics and market systems to provide constructive elements on the way in which labor changes are evidenced in the city of Quito. The results are organized in two parts. first, a conceptual analysis of the actors and the usefulness of their theoretical engagement is considered; then emphasis is placed on defining the contributions of business ethics to this theory. In conclusion, it is evident that there must be a concept of ethics based on trust, cooperation between the company and its stakeholders, in addition to management responsibility in a market where there is a constant need for regulations, recognition and sanctions for those who violate laws, consumer fraud, shareholder fraud, accounting fraud, etc.

    Description: El mundo de los negocios se encuentra conformado por un sistema de mercado donde los participantes conformar una gran red para intercambiar sus productos o servicios, sin embargo, debido al constante cambio de la oferta y demanda, los distintos emprendimientos tanto como las empresas deben adoptarse para obtener financiamiento, mejorar sus prácticas, innovar en aspecto tecnológico e incluso lanzar negocios nuevos, etc. El objetivo del artículo es analizar la forma en la que se relaciona la ética junto a los sistemas de mercado, debido al cambio que existe en el medio laboral donde se interconectan todos los actores, funciones y temas de un subsector de productos. Se aplica la metodología revisión bibliográfica en base a publicaciones registradas de los artículos que incluyen criterios de mercado laboral, ética y sistemas de mercado para proporcionar elementos constructivos sobre la forma en que se evidencian los cambios laborales en la ciudad de Quito. Los resultados se organizan en dos partes. primero, se considera un análisis conceptual de los actores y la utilidad de su compromiso teórico; luego se pone el acento en la definición de los aportes de la ética empresarial a esta teoría. Al concluir se evidencia que debe existir un concepto de ética basado en la confianza, cooperación entre la empresa y sus grupos de intereses, además de la responsabilidad de gestión en un mercado donde existe un constante es necesario se apliquen normativas, reconocimientos y sanciones para quienes infringen leyes, estafas al consumidor, defraudaciones a accionistas, engaños contables, etc.

Alongside contemporary literary authors, the anthology studies diverse contemporary textual phenomena from TV shows to online fan theories and survivalist blogs. The essays compiled in this anthology tentatively apply the theories of the post-postmodern to contemporary texts to see how they might open up for analysis within their new theoretical frameworks or challenge them.The introduction, co-written by all the authors of this volume, introduces the most influential theories of post-postmodernism and contextualizes them within broader intellectual trends of the early 21st Century.     Description: Contrary to the secularism thesis of the 20th century, religion did not disappear from the Western experience. Rather, religiosity took on new forms, which emphasized individuality, experientiality, and corporeality, and highlighted lifestyle consumption. These new spiritualities came to be understood as the opposite of religiosity: people identified themselves as being not religious, but spiritual. The book examines new spiritualities as a concept, a phenomenon, and a subject of research. It introduces the history of the concept and the different past approaches in the research field, and discusses the diversity of the phenomenon of new spiritualities, especially in 21st century Finland, through various case studies. The book shows the multiple ways in which new spiritualities intertwine with different sectors of the society and blur spirituality’s boundary with religion, health care, art, and popular culture, for example. The book is the first book-length presentation in Finnish of the field of new spiritualities.

The results show that there is a statistically significant relationship between perceptual skills and the learning of mathematics in 5-year-old students of an educational institution in Huancavelica, in remote education. These quantitative results, with an r=0.75, represent a moderate positive correlation, according to the table of correlation indexes of Hernandez, Fernandez and Baptista (2018)

    Description: Sofi Oksanen is the most visible and widely discussed Finnish author of the 21st century, yet her novels have gained less attention than her public performances. This study shifts the focus from the author’s persona to her literary art, proposing to read Oksanen’s fiction from the methodological viewpoint of the rhetorical theory of narrative. Accordingly, Oksanen’s six novels published to date – Stalinin lehmät, Baby Jane, Puhdistus, Kun kyyhkyset katosivat, Norma, and Koirapuisto – are considered as examples of authorial rhetoric and ethics, as narrative and textual constructions, and as affective readerly experiences. Instead of only following the rhetorical theory’s emphasis on character, plot, and progression, however, the study develops a new kind of narrative rhetoric, which also pays attention to language and politics. In the study, Sofi Oksanen emerges as a feminist narrative artist, who employs fiction as a serious rhetorical resource in order to say something worthwhile about the past history as well as the contemporary world.

    Description: "When Aleksis Kivi’s (1834–1872) Finnish tragedy Karkurit (‘The Escapees’) was originally published in 1867 it was considered better than his two former plays, the Kalevalaic tragedy Kullervo (1864) and the comedy Nummisuutarit (‘Heath Cobblers’, 1864). Soon these encouraging views, however, turned completely opposite. Dismissing attitudes towards Kivi’s play were dominant until the 1960s when new theatre productions made its artistic merits worthy of consideration again. The critical edition of Karkurit gives a new and more versatile image of Aleksis Kivi as a playwright and helps to understand his tragedy in the light of the changing artistic ideals of different periods and generations. The edition contains a scholarly edited and richly annotated text of the tragedy’s first edition. Expert introductions by leading authorities illuminate the multidimensional dramaturgy of the play and reflect its relation to the European drama traditions and the socio-historical context of 19th-century Finland. In addition, the introductory articles analyse Kivi’s pioneering blank verse dialogues and discuss how Karkurit was published and performed from the 19th century up to the present day. The appendices include, among others, versatile text-critical apparatuses, an overview of the first Swedish dramatization of the tragedy (1872) and an earlier version of the play, an excerpt that was originally published in a magazine one year prior to the first edition of the drama. This book explores the ethical challenge of developing an appropriate and respectful relation to other human beings by analyzing a number of historical and cultural cases of relating to the other.     Description: Aberrations of Reason. Capitalist Rationality and its Critique in Juha Seppälä’s Novels Yhtiökumppanit (The Partners, 2002), Paholaisen haarukka (Devil’s Fork, 2008) and Mr. Smith (2012). Juha Seppälä’s early literary works, published in the 1980s and in the early 1990s, usually described spiritually lonely men who suffered from an existential loss of meaning and serious alienation problems in the modern world. After this, Seppälä turned to deal with the transformation of the Finnish way of life and its cultural base, until after the turn of the new millennium he began to critically judge society’s ongoing marketization process. This study analyses his capitalism-critical works, particularly his novels Yhtiökumppanit (The Partners, 2002), Paholaisen haarukka (Devil’s Fork, 2008) and Mr. Smith (2012). These works do not, primarily, consider contemporary market capitalism from a class perspective, although this sort of perspective is also included in them. They are, above all, critical of market capitalist rationality. According to Seppälä, the basic problem of modern economic profit-seeking lies in the fact that in its unchecked form it is largely indifferent with respect to existential, moral, social and ecological values and principles. Free market economy or market capitalism has, therefore, a destructive influence on individuals, communities and ecological systems. The novels at issue emphasize that due to this it is also, in a deeper sense, incapable of producing existentially meaningful ways of life.

    Description: Politeness is a key means by which we maintain interpersonal relationships. This book is the first comprehensive study of politeness in Finnish. Based on linguistic and pragmatic research, the book spans three parts. The first part is theoretical and historical, summarising three waves of politeness research, describing politeness as a cultural and historical phenomenon. The second part is empirical, providing an example of the study of im/politeness from outsiders’ perspectives—that, is French people living in Finland and Finns living or having lived in France. The focus group discussions ranged from definitions of politeness and differences of behaviour, to learning and teaching as well as to changes to politeness norms within society. The third part summarises the conclusions and offers an epilogue. This reader-friendly book includes exercises and recommended readings, and is welcomed by researchers and students working on politeness and, more broadly, relational work.

    Description: Songs and writings: oral and literary cultures in early-modern Finland renews the understanding of exchange between the learned culture of clergymen and the culture of commoners, or “folk”. What happened when the Reformation changed the position of the oral vernacular language to literary and ecclesiastical, and when folk beliefs seem to have become an object for more intensive surveillance and correction? How did clergymen understand and use the versatile labels of popular belief, paganism, superstition and Catholic fermentation? Why did they choose particular song languages, poetic modes and melodies for their Lutheran hymns and literary poems, and why did they avoid oral poetics in certain contexts while accentuating it in others? How were the hagiographical traditions representing the international medieval literary or “great” tradition adapted to “small” folk traditions, and how did they persist and change after the Reformation? What happened to the cult of the Virgin Mary in local oral traditions? The first Finnish 16th-century reformers admired the new Germanic models of Lutheran congregational hymns and avoided the Finnic vernacular Kalevala-metre idiom, while their successors picked up many vernacular traits, most notably alliteration, in their ecclesiastical poetry and hymns. Over the following centuries, the new features introduced via new Lutheran hymns such as accentual metres, end-rhymes and strophic structures were infusing into oral folk poetry, although this took place also via secular oral and literary routes. On the other hand, seventeenth-century scholars cultivated a new academic interest in what they understood as “ancient Finnish poetry”. Based on large-scale archival research, it is the first comprehensive historical account of Finnish women composers and their cultural heritage. The authors draw on feminist music history and the sociohistorical approach to find out who these women were, what kind of music they wrote, and how their careers reflected European cultural and social history. The treatise highlights the influence of girls’ schools, women’s suffrage movements and other socio-political developments on the musical culture of women. Concepts such as “composer”, “woman” and “Finnish” were assumed to be open and inclusive throughout the research, in terms of both musical style and diversity in cultural background.     Description: This study explores the narration of existential feelings, or feelings of being in the world, in post-war Finnish prose fiction. The book presents five case studies which address modern individuals’ struggles in boundary situations of their lives. Rigorous readings of the works of Kerttu-Kaarina Suosalmi, Lassi Nummi, Marko Tapio, Tyyne Saastamoinen and Eeva-Liisa Manner all show the influence of French existentialism and its predecessors on post-war Finnish modernism for the first time in literary studies. The outsider figures and their experiences of the absurd, which have enticed the cultural imagination since ancient cults and the Book of Job, connect to the atmosphere of shared melancholy in post-war Finnish culture and society. The study participates in the rich contemporary debates on the effects of literature by focusing on less-discussed aspects of bodily feeling, affect, emotion and mood in late Finnish modernism. The book’s methodological contribution to narrative theory is that it combines a phenomenological analysis of reading with a rhetorical theory of narrative and politically informed, multidisciplinary emotion studies. The five case studies show how modernist outsider prose fiction in Finland resorts to irony, metafiction, allegory and the imaginative to generate ethically challenging narrative tension and an ambivalence of negative and positive emotion in readers. The opposing impulses of the aesthetic response produce an openness of interpretation. This openness provides us with the possibility of a more complex cultural understanding of emotion and ethics in the lives of strangers within literature and outside it.

    Description: Valco (1976–1980) was a state-owned company that manufactured cathode ray tubes for the television industry. The company’s scandalous failure has been widely identified as one of the largest investment errors in Finland’s economic history. This book is the first in-depth study of the roots, events, and consequences of that project. This study analyses Valco from a microhistorical perspective, looking at the numerous factors that led to its failure, from the company’s founding process to investigations after its demise. These events are linked to broader phenomena in economic and business history, such as the changing economic policy of the government and the emergence of global supply chains in the electronics industry. Valco is a significant single case with a concrete impact on Finland’s economic history. First, it changed the general perception of state-owned companies and, because of this, also more general perceptions of the role of the state in the economy. As a result, the initiative to develop the electronics industry was transferred to private companies such as Nokia. Second, Valco’s case revealed the problems of state ownership of companies in a very concrete way. Due to Valco’s failure, the objectives of state ownership were clarified, and the corporate governance system was modernised. In this way, Valco is linked to the modernization of Finnish state capitalism from the 1970s onwards.

    Description: Engativá is one of the 21 political-administrative divisions of the Capital District of Bogotá (Colombia), and is distinguished by its urban composition, a high population density and its soils dedicated mainly to residential, commercial and industrial use. However, this territory is also characterized by the presence of ecosystems rich in biodiversity that are threatened by factors associated with urbanization and the effects of climate change. In this locality there are three urban wetlands of RAMSAR category: Juan Amarillo, Jaboque and Santa María del Lago, in addition, in terms of water management, by the administrative jurisdiction of Engativá is a portion of land of the basins of the Bogotá River and the Salitre River. On the other hand, among the green areas that make up the urban fabric, such as neighborhood parks, complementary conservation areas such as the botanical garden and La Florida Regional Park stand out. In relation to these urban ecosystems, which are part of the Main Ecological Structure of the Capital District and its environmental region, this book contains an analysis of each of these components, highlighting elements of their historical trajectory, specialized legal regulations and a description of specific challenges. One of the purposes of the systematization of information collected here is to make evident the nuances of the environmental urban planning managed in the administrative jurisdiction of Engativá: a place where urban vitality and nature converge in a fragile balance, marked by a complex trajectory of environmental degradation and adoption of the inhabitants to the territory.

En esta localidad se encuentran tres humedales urbanos de categoría RAMSAR: Juan Amarillo, Jaboque y Santa María del Lago, además, en materia de ordenamiento hídrico, por la jurisdicción administrativa de Engativá se encuentra una porción de terreno de las cuencas del río Bogotá y del río salitre. Por otra parte, entre las áreas verdes constitutivas del tejido urbano como los parques de carácter vecinal, sobresalen las áreas complementarias para la conservación como el jardín botánico y el Parque regional La Florida. En relación con estos ecosistemas urbanos, que hacen parte de la Estructura Ecológica Principal del Distrito Capital y su región ambiental, el presente libro contiene un análisis de cada uno de estos componentes, resaltando elementos de su trayectoria histórica, las regulaciones jurídicas especializadas y una descripción de los desafíos específicos.     Description: The focus of this research is on Finland’s role in Soviet Union’s calculation of its foreign policy between 1920 and 1930. This was the first decade of both Finnish independence and of Soviet power in Russia. This book answers questions about the objectives of Soviet foreign policy in Finland, on the contacts used by the Soviet legation to obtain information, and on how well the Soviets understood Finland’s objectives. People interested in Finland and in Russian perspectives with regards to foreign policy and neighbouring countries will find much new in this book because it relies on formerly unpublished Russian archival material to form the basis for charting Soviet objectives in Finland. The book shows that the Soviets primarily observed Finland in a larger regional context along with other states on its borders in the Baltic Sea region. The global objectives of the revolution and the Soviet Union, but also the domestic political situation in both countries, are reflected on this framework. The period was characterized by forced collectivization in the Soviet Union and, in Finland, by the rise of the right-wing Lapua Movement that emerged at the onset of the Great Depression, laying the foundations for the most severe crisis in the relations during 1929–1930 when the issues surrounding these events destabilized simultaneously the society and political decision-making in both countries.

    Description: The Centre Party of Finland was represented in almost all cabinets for decades, and it often held the post of prime minister during the reign of President Urho Kekkonen. When Kekkonen’s deteriorating health forced him to resign in 1981, the Centre Party, formerly the Agrarian Union, was in front of the crisis. The party was deeply divided along the lines of who would be the best candidate to succeed Kekkonen. The schism had prevailed for years, and contemporaries suspected the party would split up or at least lose its dominant position in Finnish politics. Besides, the numbers of core supporters making up the party, agrarians, were constantly diminishing. In addition, the Finnish party system was in a state of flux. The Finnish People’s Democratic League was in a deep downward spiral, while the Conservative Party’s support was ascendant. The power struggle between the three ‘big’ parties, the Centre Party, the Social Democratic Party and the Conservative Party, was fierce. The study describes and analyses how the Center Party survived the challenges it faced. How was the cohesion of the party rebuilt and maintained? How did the Centre Party manage to survive the inter-party contests and end up being the strongest party in the elections of 1991? The study is firmly based on source material from the party organization of the Centre Party and other relevant political actors, such as President Mauno Koivisto. The book provides new information on both Finnish domestic and foreign politics and the power struggles among the parties and leading political figures.

    Description: The book focuses on intangible and tangible heritage, language and vernacular religion of the Ingrians, Setos and Votes, three Finnic ethnic minorities sharing a long-standing identification with the Russian Orthodox faith. Written by 16 authors, the chapters are mainly based on nineteenth- and twentieth-century materials. The research history and collecting of folklore are also discussed.The historical area of the Ingrians and Votes is located in Ingria, adjacent to St. Petersburg, while the Setos have inhabited both sides of the border of southern Estonia and Russia. All three groups live on the borderline of the Eastern and Western Churches and cultural realms.Currently, the Ingrian and Votic languages are extremely endangered, while the Seto language has approximately 12,000 speakers. There is a high local interest in the maintenance and revitalisation of all three languages and cultural traditions.

    Description: Societal impact is an integral part of academic research today and researchers are expected to share their findings with research participants. Efforts to develop scientific research and science communication from one-way communication towards different forms of co-creation where the researcher and research participants produce knowledge and negotiate about its meaning and applicability through joint actions are in great demand. For the researcher, such developments have brought a new kind of access into the world of research participants and also novel reflections on one’s professional knowledge and identity and their boundaries. This book focuses on the human and social sciences and draws particular attention to the diverse encounters that occur between researchers and research participants at all stages of the research process when studying human subjects and activities. The book presents case studies of applied conversation analysis in a variety of professional contexts. The aim of the book is to shed light on the practices, possibilities, and challenges of applied research within the conversation analytic framework where the research participants’ authentic social situations become the target of the researcher’s detailed analysis. The articles of the book investigate social interaction in occupational health care, mental health rehabilitation, elderly care, welfare education, theatre rehearsals, social circus, military organization, software development, and workplace community break taking. These articles represent applied conversation analysis in different ways. The results of the research have been used in some of the articles, for example, in developing the professional practices of the workplace community whereas in some other articles the whole study has been undertaken collaboratively between researchers and professionals. Each article is divided into two parts: a conventional research report that analyses the patterns of social interaction in a particular professional setting is followed by a story where the authors reflect on how their study originated, how it progressed, and what kinds of encounters and choices it involved. The stories highlighting reciprocal interactions of the researcher and the research participants across the research process bring forth various voices and perspectives that conventionally are not considered as part of the research report. The book brings important information not only on the interactional phenomena examined in the articles but also on the diverse issues of conducting and applying research in professional contexts. It also discusses the practices and definitions of applied conversation analysis within the broader framework of applied research, universities’ third mission, and forms of knowledge and expertise in contemporary society.

    Description: Organizational behavior is somewhat unpredictable due to the very different personalities of the individuals working in the same institution such as universities, being necessary a method to regulate behavior while complying with legal requirements established by the governing bodies of higher education. The objective of this article is to analyze the organizational behavior and the performance of the teachers of the Technical University Luis Vargas Torres of Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo Campus, in order to improve the efficiency with which the processes are carried out and to comply with the institutional objectives by establishing guidelines for the conduct of teachers. As for the methodology used, the bibliographic review method was chosen by searching for information through books, scientific and academic articles. In the discussion, deficiencies in the instability of organizational behavior are evidenced, thus affecting performance and the application of new practices in the institution. The results indicate that there is a direct relationship between leadership and organizational behavior in the educational environment leading to the conclusion that the implementation of actions to generate a positive organizational behavior in pedagogical management allows the creation of an environment with better communication, focus and performance improvement, which allows the growth of the establishment.

En el presente artículo se tiene como objetivo analizar el comportamiento organizacional y el desempeño de los docentes de la Universidad Técnica Luis Vargas Torres de Esmeraldas Sede Santo Domingo con el fin de mejorar la eficacia con la que se realizan los procesos y dar cumplimiento a los objetivos institucionales al establecer lineamientos para la conducta de los docentes. En cuanto a la metodología utilizada se optó por el método de revisión bibliográfica al realizar búsqueda de información por medio de libros, artículos científicos y académicos. En la discusión se evidencia deficiencias en la inestabilidad del comportamiento organizacional afectando así el rendimiento y la aplicación de nuevas prácticas en la institución. Los resultados indican que existe relación directa entre el liderazgo y el comportamiento organizacional en el ámbito educativo llevando a la conclusión de la implementación de acciones para generar un comportamiento organizacional positivo en la gestión pedagógica permiten crear un ambiente con mejor comunicación, focalización y la mejora del desempeño las cuales permiten el crecimiento del establecimiento.

The project is based on a literature review methodology where critical points of view are supported by specific cases from various documented sources, such as the omission or implementation of business ethics and its influence on success, as well as the failure of a company. In the analysis of the results, it can be seen that companies from countries such as Ecuador, Costa Rica, Chile, Peru, Panama, Paraguay and Colombia increasingly adopt ethical principles, looking beyond economic benefit by creating an environment of trust with society, complying with objectives of sustainable development, which in turn have a positive impact allowing the fulfillment of organizational goals.

    Description: Michael Agricola’s main work is the New Testament, published in 1548, a magnificent quarto volume of 700 pages with a hundred woodcuts. The basic text used was the Greek text published by Erasmus, Erasmus’ Latin translation, the Vulgate, the Luther Bible and the Swedish Bible from 1541. The 450 marginal glosses come from the Luther Bible and the Swedish Bible. In his translation, Agricola distinguished “the Holy Spirit’s own words,” i.e. H. the Bible text, the prefaces and marginal glosses, which were only intended to provide “clearer understanding”. The word of God is much more valuable than the word of man, so that the translator was closely tied to the text. A free translation was out of the question, let alone consciously improving the text. He was able to proceed more freely with the prefaces and marginal glosses. Most of the time he translated verbatim, but did not shy away from omissions, additions and changes when he deemed them appropriate. In this critical edition, Agricola’s marginal glosses on the New Testament are printed in parallel with their sources.

Se utilizó además PHP por ser uno de los lenguajes más utilizados para crear aplicaciones conectadas a bases de datos MySQL.

    Description: Discrimination in Ecuador is a constant struggle because today there is great discrimination and exclusion of the feminist group, even in organizations there are barriers that women must endure compared to male workers in the work environment. The objective of the research is to know the impact of ethics on discrimination against women in Ecuadorian companies. The methodology uses a descriptive approach, using information documented by various theoretical sources such as the INEC-ENEMDU statistics to support the arguments presented. The results of the statistical analysis showed the existence of inequalities in terms of the figures, due to the high unemployment rates of the female gender. Regarding the discussion section, theoretical sources are evidenced covering the problems of discrimination in the labor field that still persist for both sexes, but in greater proportion for women due to different factors. Finally, it is concluded that in spite of the laws governed by the constitution of Ecuador, it has not been possible to completely eliminate the existing discrimination against women in the workplace, this has been seen as a great disadvantage for many professionals who should be remunerated correctly as stipulated by law.

    Description: La discriminación en el Ecuador es una lucha constante debido a que hoy en día se palpa una gran discriminación y exclusión al grupo feminista, inclusive en las organizaciones se consta la existencia de barreras que las mujeres deben soportar a comparación de trabajadores masculinos en el ambiente de trabajo. El objetivo de la investigación es conocer cuál es el impacto que tiene la ética sobre la discriminación de la mujer dentro de las empresas del Ecuador. La metodología se utiliza un enfoque descriptivo, usando información documentada por varias fuentes teóricas como lo es el medio de estadístico INEC-ENEMDU para brindar un respaldo a los argumentos presentados. En los resultados de los análisis estadísticos se demostró la existencia de desigualdades en cuanto a las cifras, debido a las altas tasas de desempleo por parte de género femenino. Respecto al apartado de discusión se evidencian fuentes teóricas abarcando los problemas de discriminación en el ámbito laboral que aún persisten para ambos sexos, pero en mayor proporción para las mujeres debido a distintos factores. Finalmente se concluye que a pesar de las leyes que se rigen en la constitución del Ecuador, no se ha logrado eliminar de forma completa la discriminación existente contra las mujeres en el ámbito laboral, esto se ha visto como una gran desventaja para muchas profesionales que deberían ser remuneradas de forma correcta como lo estipulan las leyes.

    Description: The great change in European relations with Russia took place in 1478 when Muscovy replaced the trading Republic of Novgorod as a neighbor of Sweden, Livonia and Lithuania. Western Europe was since that year bordering to a bellicose great power with large resources causing dread. The feelings of dread caused by Russia with Czars like Ivan the Terrible became a standing theme in printed matter as well as politics and the image of Russia became very much similar to the image of Turkey, which threatened Europe from South-East. Various, usually rather negative, stereotype expressions characterized the vocabulary of the 16th century. The Peace of Stolbova in 1617 started a period of successive change. The era of Sweden as a Great Power led to growing knowledge about Russia in almost every respect, but it was still based on the already accepted stereotypes. They started, however, typically to seem more diluted and thin with time. The image of Russia as a threat was to a growing extent replaced by an image of a possibility. The perhaps most remarkable but rather unoriginal printed Swedish description of Russia of the era was Regni Muschovotici Sciographia, published by Petrus Petrejus. At the final stage of Sweden’s era as a great power there was a substantial widening but also polarization of the information on Russia. The Russian reform process during Tsar Peter I also began to influence the minds after the turn of the century in 1700. One of the principal describers of this process was Lars Johan Malm (Ehrenmalm), whose large manuscript about the power of the Russian Empire of that time, Några Anmärkningar Angående det Ryska Rijkets Nuvarande Macht from 1714, never reached the printers due to intervention from censors.

    Description: As the highest internal decision-making body within the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, the General Synod began, from 1876, congregating in Turku every tenth, and then eventually, every fifth year. By the 1960s, this decision-making system was becoming unsatisfactory. An extensive project to answer to the general ideals of the era and to strengthen the efficiency and democracy of the Church administration was initiated. The reformed General Synod got underway in 1974 with biannual gatherings. It was a body consisting of 108 members, including lay representatives, clergymen and the bishops. The General Synod retained its right to decide on ecclesiastical books and continued to hold the sole right to make proposals regarding the Church Act. A new task was to decide on the budget of the entire Church organisation and to steer the activities of the Church as a whole. Additionally, the General Synod received the general authority to handle any issues related to faith and doctrine, such as ecumenical issues. The book Kansankirkko ristipaineessa (A national folk church under conflicting pressures) takes a close look at the General Synod representatives during the years 1974–2011 and clarifies who the members of the Synod were, how they were elected and what they achieved. The study examines which of these persons held the most power, and what types of coalitions stood out within the work of the General Synod. In addition, the book aims to provide a general overall picture of the General Synod in relation to the Church, economic life, legislation, theological dialogue and the media. The study examines how well the intentions that drove the reform of the General Synod were realised and whether the General Synod was actually progressing as slowly or as briskly as expressed by different observers at different times. Discussions surrounding female ordination, sexual ethics and ecclesiastical books indicate the position of the General Synod within an increasingly diversified society. During the first decade of the 2000s, the General Synod experienced a similar revolution in terms of values as it had when preparing the reform of the Synod around the turn of the 1960s and 70s. The Church began to find itself once again in a missionary situation.

    Description: This collection of articles sheds light on the role of human language in interspecies interaction. The book shows that language is not necessarily what separates us from other creatures. It can also be seen as yet another dimension of human existence that is deeply rooted in our shared history and everyday life with other living beings. This volume contains six individual research articles, two short reviews, an opening introduction to the themes of the book, and an extensive, theoretical closing chapter. The studies draw on methodologies and theoretical approaches including conversation analysis and a cognitive, usage-based approach to grammatical constructions. The book further explores the interfaces of linguistics, biosemiotics, and posthumanism. The studies show how linguistic and interactional approaches can contribute to our understanding of how human and non-human animals communicate with each other during embodied activities, how human language users make sense of interspecies encounters in speaking to or about animals, and how human language is thereby impregnated by the presence of other species. The individual research articles study, e.g., interaction with co-present animals, dialectal cow calls, parliamentary speeches, narratives of nature observation, and historical laws.

    Description: Human beings are naturally sociable entities that need to interact with other people throughout life, in this course they meet those who share ideas, tastes and become important in their day to day life, but they also go through complicated moments where it is unable to take care of himself and needs others to live by depending on human weakness, which is known as the ethic of care. The objective of the article is to identify the way in which the ethics of care intervenes in social organizations, from those that range from the public, private, religious spheres or any type of person with whom one has a relationship. The applied methodology is a qualitative bibliographic review whose purpose is to go from inductive to deductive to understand how to describe the qualities and characteristics within social organizations. In the analysis you can see that there are organizations in the country which provide free services for the benefit of people in vulnerable situations with principles to follow, but they are not fully complied with due to the lack of ethics among some members, giving rise to actions corrupt. Finally, it is concluded that social organizations promote the value of ethics by recognizing improvements through respect, equality, solidarity and justice.

    Description: Los seres humanos son entes naturalmente sociables que necesitan relacionarse con otras personas a lo largo de la vida, en este transcurso conocen a quienes comparten ideas, gustos y se vuelve importantes dentro de su día a día, pero también se atraviesan momentos complicados donde se es incapaz de cuidarse a sí mismo y necesita a los demás para vivir al depender de la debilidad humana, lo que se conoce como la ética del cuidado. El objetivo del artículo es identificar la manera en que cual la ética del cuidado interviene en las organizaciones sociales, desde las que van del ámbito público, privado, religioso o cualquier tipo de personas con las que se tiene relación. La metodología aplicada es de revisión bibliográfica con carácter cualitativo cuya finalidad es pasar de lo inductivo a deductivo para comprender la forma de describir las cualidades y características dentro de las organizaciones sociales. En el análisis se puede apreciar que existen organizaciones en el país las cuales brindan servicios gratis a beneficio de las personas en situación de vulnerabilidad con principios a seguir, pero los mismos no son cumplidos en totalidad por la poca ética entre algunos miembros dando lugar a acciones corruptas. Finalmente se concluye que las organizaciones sociales fomentan el valor de la ética mediante el reconocimiento de mejoras a través del respeto, igualdad, solidaridad y justicia.

    Description: This research analyzes the levels of trait-anxiety and state-anxiety, modifying a state-anxiety as an immediate emotional state, evolving over time. While trait-anxiety refers to relatively stable individual differences in anxiety. The objective was to determine levels of state-trait anxiety in times of Covid-19 pandemic in workers of Red de Salud Angaraes - Huancavelica, 2021. Methodology: basic research, descriptive level, synthetic analytical method, non-experimental, transactional, descriptive design, technique used, survey, Inventory of Trait-State Anxiety (IDARE), sample of 110 workers was used. Results: Concerning state anxiety levels, low level 7.27%, medium level 41.82% and high level 50.91%. Regarding trait anxiety, 6.36%, low level, 40.91% medium level and 52.73% high level. Regarding gender for state anxiety, for females, 2.73% low level, 20.00% medium level and 30.91% high level; for males, 4.55% low level, 21.82% medium level and 20.00% high level. According to gender, trait anxiety, females present 1.82% low level, 20.00% medium level and 31.82% high level. Males presented 4.55% low level, 20.91% medium level and 20.91% high level.

Metodología: investigación básica, nivel descriptivo, método analítico sintético, diseño no experimental, transaccional, descriptivo, técnica utilizada, encuesta, se utilizó Inventario Ansiedad Rasgo Estado (IDARE), se tuvo muestra de 110 trabajadores. Resultados: Concerniente a niveles de ansiedad estado, se evidencia nivel bajo 7,27%, nivel medio 41,82% y 50,91% nivel alto. Respecto a ansiedad rasgo, 6.36%, nivel bajo, 40,91 % nivel medio y el 52,73% nivel alto. Respecto al género para ansiedad estado, para femeninos 2.73% nivel bajo, 20.00% nivel medio y 30.91% nivel alto; para masculinos, 4,55% nivel bajo, 21,82% nivel medio y 20,00% nivel alto. De acuerdo con el género, ansiedad rasgo, femeninos presentan 1,82% nivel bajo, 20.00% nivel medio y 31,82% nivel alto. Género masculino presentan 4,55% nivel bajo, nivel medio 20,91% y 20,91% nivel alto. Respecto a edad, trabajadores de 21 a 30 años presentan ansiedad estado en nivel bajo (2,7%), 22,7% nivel medio, y 9,1% nivel alto; de 31 a 40 años 2,7% nivel bajo, nivel medio 13,6%, y 34,5% nivel alto. Conclusión: Los trabajadores de la Red de Salud Angaraes, presentan nivel alto de ansiedad estado 50,91%, respecto a ansiedad rasgo, presentan un nivel alto 52,73%.

To this end, there is a set of administrative tools and instruments contemplated in the Land Use Plan (POT) of the Capital District that all citizens should know and use to protect the ecosystems of the savanna of Bogota and the human rights associated with environmental sustainability. The objective of this publication is to contribute to the dissemination of these tools, through conceptualization and synthesis of relevant legal information on the subject. To achieve this purpose, this book is structured in two parts, the first one presents a theoretical contextualization and history of land use planning in Bogota and the second part presents the main concepts of the main ecological structure following the articles of the POT of Bogota - District Decree 555 of 2021.

    Description: The topic of the book is the incremental growth of linguistic knowledge from lexical to structural-cum-textual during the so-called later language development. Language mastery does not presuppose any acquaintance with prescriptive grammar but, instead, concerns the core of language which the so-called consensus principle applies to: the most frequent words and structures are mastered with certainty by everybody, but uncertainty increases as less frequent and more variable phenomena are taken into consideration. It is the goal of the study to make explicit the knowledge that is common to school children of different age groups, and to show how it develops both in its core and in its fringe areas. The mastery of less common aspects exhibits considerable statistical variation. The research embodies methodological pluralism insofar as it has been carried out by means both of the corpus method and the experimental method. Here experimental subsumes writing tasks, paper-and-pencil tests, and behavior under experimental conditions. The amount of participants native in Finnish varies from 300–2000. The book has a bipartite structure: mastery of meanings (Part I), and mastery of forms (Part II).

    Description: City as a Stage explores the diverse ways in which modern cities of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries presented and projected themselves, especially by staging major urban events, which have often been interpreted as major local and national turning points. In particular, the book discusses how cities were imagined through the prism provided by other cities, major events, as well as alternative pasts and futures. How –with admiration, indifference or contestation– did various urban actors engage with the city as a stage? The book paints a multifaceted picture of the history of urban events and town twinning, while at the same illustrating how students and travellers experienced cities such as Berlin, Rome, Helsinki, and Tampere.     Description: The biography of Margaret Darling Kilpinen (1896–1965) represents the fields of music history and women’s studies. It brings forth a woman who is of pliable but also strong character. She was active for over four decades in the musical life of Finland. What kind of professional role, combining performing and pedagogical work, was she able to build for herself? She was the wife of a well-known, strong-willed composer who had many ties to Germany, and also the mother of a daughter. How was she able to keep up her own artistry? The book deals with Margaret’s role as a solo and lied pianist, her long career as a pedagogue in the Sibelius Academy and as a harpsichord player with a part in the rise of old music in Finland in the 1930s. There is also the microhistorical angle: While looking at Margaret as a person and her life, general tendencies and attitudes among the cultural circles of Finland of her time are revealed. The main source material for the book, which is available for use for the very first time, has been the correspondence between Yrjö and Margaret Kilpinen.

    Description: The global challenges we face are the increasing scarcity and depletion of natural resources, at a time of growing demand for food, goods and services; agriculture, including crops, livestock, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture, are growing rapidly. Ecuador has one of the highest rates of biodiversity per square meter on the planet, livestock and agriculture are no strangers to this classification. Modern industrial agriculture, which is characterized by the biotechnology model, must be exposed to sustainable agriculture. The objective of the research is to analyze how ethics influences within the field of agriculture to provide environmental care in Ecuador, as well as to achieve sustainability of life on the planet. This project is based on a qualitative explanatory methodology with the use of a bibliographic review of different scientific journals through the evaluation and search of information. When analyzing the results, it can be seen that international trade has very low controls and certifications, putting at risk the ecological production in order to generate low production costs by making excessive use of land, water and genetic resources, endangering not only Ecuador, but the world in general. Finally, it is concluded that ethics linked to agriculture strengthens a measure of long-term care of the planet in which we live, by taking care of it, we also take care of the inhabitants.

    Description: Los desafíos globales que enfrentamos son la creciente escasez y el agotamiento de los recursos naturales, en un momento de creciente demanda de alimentos, bienes y servicios; la agricultura, incluidos los cultivos, la ganadería, la silvicultura, la pesca y la acuicultura, están creciendo rápidamente. Ecuador tiene uno de los índices de biodiversidad por metro cuadrado más altos del planeta, la ganadería y la agricultura no son ajenas a esta clasificación. La agricultura industrial moderna, que se caracteriza por el modelo de biotecnología, debe estar expuesta a la agricultura sostenible. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar cómo influye la ética dentro del ámbito de la agricultura para ofrecer cuidado del medio ambiente en el Ecuador, así como lograr la sostenibilidad de la vida en el planeta. Este proyecto se basa en una metodología cualitativa explicativa con uso de la revisión bibliográfica de distintas revistas científicas mediante la evaluación y búsqueda de la información. Al analizar los resultados se puede apreciar que el comercio a nivel internacional tiene muy bajos controles y certificaciones poniendo en riesgo la producción ecológica a fin de generar bajos costes de producción al hacer uso excesivo de tierra, el agua y los recursos genéticos nos pone en peligro no solo a Ecuador, si no al mundo en general. Finalmente se concluye que la ética vinculada con la agricultura fortalece una medida de cuidado a largo plazo del planeta en el cual habitamos, al cuidar del mismo, también cuidamos a los habitantes.

    Description: Alex Matson (1888–1972) is an important Finnish literary critic and essayist, whose literary reviews and collections of essays have made a vital contribution to the development of Finland's postwar literary generation. Born in Finland as the son of a sailor, Matson moved as a young child with his family to Hull in England, where he went to school. In the 1910s, he moved back to Finland, where he at first established himself as painter associated with the expressionist November Group, an important Finnish artistic movement at the time. In the interbellum, he moved from fine arts to literature. In the 1920s and 1930s, he published several novels, but more important was his work as transmitter of international literary ideas to Finland. Together with his first wife, Kersti Bergroth, he edited the literary journal Sininen kirja (""The Blue Book""; 1927–1930), which was inspired by the writings of John Middleton Murry and Katherine Mansfield. Sininen kirja is the most international literary journal in Finnish history to date and introduced Finland to the most significant modernist writers of the first half of the 20th century (Gottfried Benn, Jean Cocteau, Alfred Döblin, T. S. Eliot, Aldous Huxley, James Joyce, D. H. Lawrence, Katherine Mansfield, Paul Valéry, Virginia Woolf). During the Second World War, Matson worked for the State Communications Agency, which was responsible for disseminating relevant information about Finland to other nations and for informing Finns of relevant developments abroad. It was also tasked with studying the prevailing mood among the population in Finland. In Matson's unpublished wartime diaries, one can see the first symptoms of a shift in Finnish culture away from Germany and towards Anglo-Saxon culture. From the 1940s onwards, Matson recommended new English and American novels as a part of his work as reader for Finnish publishing houses, and he also translated works by Joyce, Hemingway and Steinbeck. With the help of a network of international literary critics, Matson became acquainted with New Criticism, which he introduced to Finland before it became established among academic researchers. He was often critical of academic literary studies, but his seminal essay works Romaanitaide (""On the Prose Novel""; 1947), John Steinbeck (1948), Kaksi mestaria (""Two Masters"", on Tolstoy and Dostoevsky; 1950) as well as his impressive conversational skills were instrumental in introducing knowledge about the principles of the prose novel to several authors (including Väinö Linna, Lauri Viita, and Hannu Salama), and contributed to their views of literature. Matson emphasized the importance of reading and understanding high-quality literature for the wellbeing of society.

    Description: In the business environment of any entity, there is an environment of natural competitiveness, leading people to want to stand out, even if they deserve to use negative behaviors towards other collaborators as a result of stigmatism created and carried since the beginning of human settlements. The objective of the research is to carry out an analysis of discrimination at work, encompassing an ethical perspective, taking as a case study in the Province of Santo Domingo. An explanatory and comparative analysis approach based on the data obtained by the Center for Information and Technological Management of Holguín on the city is used in the methodology. These stigmas related to discrimination are pointed out, generating a presence in different sectors within the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, where high levels of inequality are evidenced by being part of a society where human beings are pigeonholed based on a series of prejudices. Finally, it is possible to determine a clear sample of high discrimination against pregnant women, young people and people with special abilities as a result of reasons related to the personal or collective benefit of the workers of a company.

El objetivo de la investigación es efectuar un análisis de la discriminación en el trabajo abarcando una perspectiva ética tomando como caso de estudio en la Provincia de Santo Domingo. Se utiliza en la metodología un enfoque de análisis explicativo y comparativo basado en los datos obtenidos por el Centro de Información y Gestión tecnológica de Holguín sobre la ciudad. Se señalan dichos estigmas relacionados a la discriminación generando presencia en distintos sectores dentro de la provincia de Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas donde se evidencia altos niveles de desigualdad al formar parte de una sociedad donde se encasillan a los seres humanos basados a una serie de prejuicios. Finalmente se logra determinar una muestra clara de alta discriminación hacia mujeres embarazadas, personas jóvenes y con capacidades especiales producto de razones relacionadas a beneficio propio u colectivo de los trabajadores de una empresa.

It must be understood that in Latin America, where the countries are less developed, violence occurs against women and this does not have a real index, because most of them do not make it known that they are victims of violence. In the Ecuadorian State there are several types of violence that are known by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the cases of physical violence and psychological violence are the ones that are related to each other, that is to say, physical and psychological aggression. In Ecuador with the reform of the Organic Integral Penal Code in 2019 and its subsequent validity and application in June 2020, the implementation of new legal mechanisms to suspend the substantiation of the process in matters of violence against women or members of the family nucleus, as special procedures to solve the problems of this matter is given, considering that the constitutional norm establishes that the State will guarantee the victim the punishment of the aggressor through special procedures in relation to violence.

Hay que entender que América Latina donde los países son menos desarrollados, la violencia ocurre contra la mujer y ésta no tiene un índice real, debido a que la mayoría no pone en conocimiento de qué son víctimas de violencia. En el Estado ecuatoriano existen diversos tipos de violencia que son conocidos por fiscalía de mayor forma se dan los casos de violencia física y violencia psicológica estos tipos de violencia son los que se relacionan entre sí, es decir, la agresión física y psicológica. En el Ecuador con la reforma del Código Orgánico Integral Penal en el año 2019 y su posterior vigencia y aplicación en mes en el mes de junio del 2020, se da la implementación de nuevos mecanismos legales para suspender la sustanciación del proceso en materia de violencia contra la mujer o miembros del núcleo familiar, como procedimientos especiales para solucionar los problemas de esta materia considerando que la norma constitucional establece que el Estado garantizará a la víctima la sanción del agresor mediante procedimientos especiales en relación a la violencia.

    Description: Due to the importance of organizational behavior, which represents a dynamizing axis for the efficiency of a company, it is necessary to consider the way in which individuals develop within the work area, which can be favorable or unfavorable depending on the situation in which the case is handled. Therefore, the objective of the research is to analyze the impact that the behavior of internal collaborators has within the organizations in order to become a master key to achieve an effective leadership. The methodology applied is descriptive in nature, in which information is collected through bibliographic data to provide interpretation of the behavior of people in their work environments through the analytical method. It is found that in order to remain competitive, entities resort to measures to reduce their costs by reengineering their processes and personnel layoffs, which impacts on the minds of employees by falling into an atmosphere of uncertainty, removing the sense of belonging of the members of the organization. Finally, it is concluded that greater responsibility falls on top management, whose duty it is to implement methods oriented to the thoughts and actions of workers, which contribute positively to the organizational environment to make internal collaborators feel fulfilled.

Por consiguiente, el objetivo de la investigación es analizar el impacto que tiene el comportamiento de los colaboradores internos dentro de las organizaciones a fin de convertirse en una llave maestra para alcanzar un liderazgo eficaz. La metodología aplicada es de carácter descriptiva, en la cual se recolecta información mediante datos bibliográficos para brindar interpretación del comportamiento de las personas en sus ambientes de trabajo a través del método analítico. Se encuentra que las entidades a fin de seguir siendo competitivas recurren a medidas para reducir sus costos mediante reingeniería en sus procesos y despidos de personal, lo cual impacta en la mente de los colaboradores al caer en un ambiente de incertidumbre quitando el sentido de pertenencia de los miembros de la organización. Finalmente se concluye que mayor responsabilidad recae sobre los altos mandos, al tener como deber implementar métodos orientados a los pensamientos y forma de actuar de los trabajadores, los cuales aporten positivamente al ambiente organizacional para hacer sentir realizados a los colaboradores internos.

Several books were investigated and a compendium of the most important parts was made and it was concluded that software engineering provides several methodologies for software development and several models for software design that the professional can use depending on the different needs or different situations or projects to develop.

Se investigó varios libros llegando a realizar un compendio de las partes más importantes y se llegó a la conclusión de que la ingeniería del software proporciona varias metodologías para el desarrollo del software y varios modelos para el diseño de software que el profesional puede utilizar dependiendo las diferentes necesidades o las diferentes situaciones o proyectos a desarrollar.

    Description: The study was conducted in 18 districts of Huancavelica province, surveying 426 cattle producers during 2020. The producers, with a primary education level or no education at all for the most part, are mainly engaged in agriculture and cattle raising, and do not usually receive wages for their work. The main breed of cattle is Brown Swiss (37.6%), and producers keep an average of 6.5 head of cattle, with a semi-extensive production system. The main objective of cattle raising is milk production (46.9%) and dual purpose (44.1%), although most producers cannot determine the live weight of the cattle they sell. Although grazing and supplementation with common salt is practiced, pastures are not conserved for the dry season, and most producers have difficulty detecting estrus and determining the age at first service. Natural mating predominates, without genetic improvement, and there is no adequate management of diseases such as mastitis and fasciola. Producers lack equipment and machinery, do not receive adequate technical assistance and do not follow a sanitary calendar. It is concluded that management and technical assistance in areas such as reproduction, health, genetic improvement and feeding are deficient.

    Description: El estudio se realizó en 18 distritos de la provincia de Huancavelica, encuestando a 426 productores de bovino durante 2020. Los productores, con un nivel educativo primario o sin educación en su mayoría, se dedican principalmente a la agricultura y la ganadería, y no suelen recibir sueldo por su trabajo. La raza principal de ganado es la Brown Swiss (37.6%), y los productores mantienen un promedio de 6.5 cabezas de vacuno, con un sistema de producción semi extensivo. El objetivo principal de la crianza de bovinos es la producción de leche (46.9%) y doble propósito (44.1%), aunque la mayoría de los productores no puede determinar el peso vivo del bovino que vende. Aunque se practica el pastoreo y la suplementación con sal común, no se conservan pastos para la temporada seca, y la mayoría de los productores tiene dificultades para detectar el celo y determinar la edad al primer servicio. Predomina la monta natural, sin mejoramiento genético, y no se realiza un manejo adecuado de enfermedades como la mastitis y la fasciola. Los productores carecen de equipos y maquinarias, no reciben asistencia técnica adecuada y no siguen un calendario sanitario. Se concluye que la administración y la asistencia técnica en áreas como la reproducción, la sanidad, el mejoramiento genético y la alimentación son deficientes.

The history of childhood is a vibrant, multidisciplinary field that incorporates a rich variety of methodological approaches developed in disciplines across the social sciences and humanities, including archaeology, education, ethnology, literature, and history. The volume presents a collection of chapters that engage a range of different research traditions and employ different research material, conceptual tools, and methods of analysis for the historical study of childhood.     Description: "Matthias Alexander Castrén’s (1813–1852) Luentoja suomalaisesta mytologiasta (’Lectures on Finnish Mythology’, originally Swedish ’Föreläsningar i finsk mytologi’) is a key work in the research history of Finnish mythology. This is the first Finnish translation of it. Despite ’Lectures’ in the label, the work is a coherent book. It makes a systematic approach to ancient Finnish religion on the basis of earlier mythographers, Castrén’s fieldwork among Finnic peoples and the latest European research trends of the first half of the 19th century. Even though Castrén’s Lectures significantly developed Finnish mythography and it served as a standard work for half a century, its significance was largely forgotten when new research paradigms were introduced in the course of the 20th century. The work is an important part of the history of Finnish research in religions, linguistics and ethnography and it also reflects the state of the study of mythology in Europe in the middle of the 19th century. The book is lively written and therefore, it meets the taste of the general public in addition to researchers. This edition includes a concise introduction to Lectures’ historical context, a scientific commentary and exhaustive indexes. M. A. Castrén is renown especially as a linguist and explorer who worked among Siberian peoples but his work was marked also by interest in Finnishness at a time when the idea of a Finnish nation was developing. Lectures was Castrén’s last work. He finished the book in his deathbed, and it was published posthumously in 1853. The translator and editor of the Lectures, Joonas Ahola, PhD, is an expert in Old Norse language and mythology as well as kalevala-meter poetry. The other author of the introduction, Karina Lukin, PhD, is an expert of North Siberian cultures and 19th century expeditions among them. "

    Description: Since time immemorial the behavior of the human being becomes a mystery which varies depending on the person and the environment that surrounds him, as the life cycle progresses as eventually all people have the need to find employment to meet the needs through the payment that is given for the services provided to the entity. Within the companies, all collaborators have a responsibility towards society and must behave as responsible entities, in accordance with ethics and respect for people and the environment. The objective of the research is to analyze how individuals are managed within organizations according to the ethics and human processes that exist in each business. This manuscript is based on a literature review methodology with a descriptive and analytical approach to provide an interpretation of the characteristics of the behavior of individuals. The results show that there are still organizations that see their employees as just another resource, without considering their needs as individuals, creating a lack of motivation in the staff at the time of performing their tasks, making necessary the intervention of the human resources department to ensure fair treatment. With this we conclude that the application of ethics is necessary for the success or failure of an entity by representing the ideal standards of conduct for an optimal organizational environment that will bring about efficient processes.

    Description: Desde tiempos inmemoriales el comportamiento del ser humano se vuelve un misterio el cual varía dependiendo de la persona y el ambiente que le rodea, al avanzar con el ciclo de vida a medida eventualmente todas las personas tienen la necesidad de encontrar empleo para satisfacer las necesidades a través del pago que se otorga por los servicios prestado a la entidad. Dentro de las empresas todos los colaboradores tienen inmersa una responsabilidad con la sociedad y deben comportarse como entes responsables, ajustados a la ética, y al respeto por las personas y el medio ambiente. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar cómo se manejan los individuos dentro de las organizaciones según la ética y los procesos humanos que existen en cada negocio. Este manuscrito se basa en una metodología de revisión bibliográfica con enfoque descriptivo y analítico para brindar una interpretación a las características del comportamiento de los individuos. Dentro de los resultados se aprecia que aún existen organizaciones las cuales ven a sus empleados como un recurso más, sin considerar sus necesidades como individuo, creando una falta de motivación en el personal al momento de realizar sus tareas, viéndose necesaria la intervención del departamento de recursos humanos para garantizar un trato justo. Con esto se concluye que la aplicación de la ética es necesaria para el éxito o fracaso de una entidad al representar las normas de conducta ideales para un óptimo ambiente organizacional que traerá consigo eficientes procesos.

    Description: This is the first study to examine Finnish trauma fiction in detail. The book discusses the novels of Katja Kettu, Sofi Oksanen, Elina Hirvonen and Emmi Itäranta, where historical and collective traumas meet stories of personal vulnerability. Traumatic Memory in Contemporary Prose Fiction addresses war traumas and marks left by terrorism, colonialism, domestic violence and sexual violence, and analyses the aspects of ecological trauma and future threats. The study combines the latest discussions on cultural memory studies and trauma theory with critical perspectives offered by feminist criticism and research in transnationalism. It illustrates how cultural narratives, literary conventions and aesthetic strategies regulate and produce traumatic experiences. Traumatic memory is not only a phenomenon dealing with the past, but it involves a wide range of individual, cultural, ecological, political and economic dimensions.

    Description: The book approaches the history of Finnish development cooperation through the experiences of development aid workers. At its core is a small group of Finns (experts and officials from different fields) who have worked with international development aid in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Their memories and experiences, together with diverse archival material offer an interesting window into the world of development (cooperation), or “Aidland”, from the 1960s to the turn of the millennium. The research focuses on the personal motives and experiences of Finnish aid workers from the 1960s to the 2000s. The book offers perspectives on the historical construction of Aidland since the 1940s and on the gradual integration of Finland and the Finns into its structures. It describes the mindset of the first two generations of aid workers and the factors that made them interested in developing countries. The book follows their education, their first contacts with Aidland, adaptation to work and conditions, returning home and the challenges that come with it. The study gives the reader a view of the power positions, hierarchies and contradictions in Aidland and development cooperation, which at times led Finns to reassess their motives and justify to themselves the meaningfulness of the entire undertaking. Through their experiences, the book also deals with the less-known side of development cooperation, such as corruption, prejudices, and opposition to development projects, as well as their occasionally unwanted consequences in partner/recipient countries. It also sheds light on the effects of the Aidland experience on an individual’s worldview and identity. The book is an academic study suitable for a wide audience, from university students to ordinary readers interested in development cooperation. The book helps to understand both the history of development and the construction of multi-level connections of Finnish society with the countries of the Global South. It is therefore also ideally suited for readers interested in the development of Finland’s internationalization in the late twentieth century. For its part, the book contributes to wider public debates on development cooperation.

    Description: The man of blue landscapes describes the life and work of the Finnish geographer Johannes Gabriel Granö (1882–1956), whose career also reflected Finland’s development as a modern state. Granö was a scientific explorer, writer, a pioneer of Finnish photographic art and a professor of geography at the universities of Tartu (Estonia), Helsinki and Turku. In Estonia he applied scientific method to the study of local history and from Tartu brought the tradition of urban research. Granö spent much of his youth in Omsk in western Siberia, where his father worked as a priest among displaced and deported Finns and Estonians. From 1906 to 1916 Granö made an expedition to Mongolia and the Altai mountains, but his fieldwork remained unfinished when the 1917 revolution broke out, the area was then closed to Western scholars for 70 years. Among Granö’s most important works are the classic travel book Altai, vaellusvuosina nähtyä ja elettyä (‘The Altai, seen and experienced during my years of travel’, 1921) and his methodological masterpiece Puhdas maantiede (‘Pure geography’, 1930). In it Granö outlined a theory of landscapes, and the book was a pioneering work ahead of its time: landscape was examined in terms of the relation between human beings and their environment, as the sum of all the senses.

The book focusses on the social, political, and artistic characteristics of avant-garde art and their manifestation in Finnish avant-garde literature, visual arts, architecture, fashion, and music. The book shows the remarkable role of women artists in the development of the Finnish avant-garde. Many artists and groups are presented in the book for the first time. At the same time, the articles highlight connections between well-known Finnish artists and international avant-garde movements that have not been recognized in earlier research. A key theme of the book is the tension between the internationality of avant-garde and the nationalist elements of Finnish culture. The book is peer-reviewed, and its authors are eminent senior scholars and younger researchers.

    Description: Discrimination has become one of the biggest obstacles to overcome worldwide whose impact is evident even in the workplace where searches are conducted to find perfect candidates for available vacancies with criteria based on ethnic, religious or racial discrimination where many people end up losing a job opportunity due to these social stigmas. The objective of the research is to analyze the impact of ethics and labor discrimination in the area of human resources, being one of the most important departments that make up an entity, the application of objective standards for selection in the recruitment process is still largely ignored. For this reason, the research is based on a methodology of bibliographic review by compiling the most outstanding data on the subject in order to obtain relevant results with a realistic nuance. In the analysis of the results, there is a greater hiring for the male gender, being this an indicator of the inequality found in the job offers within the country, as well as the level of recruitment where gender discrimination is evident, where the male group predominates at the national level. It is concluded that Ecuador ignores the Constitution of the Republic, which states that everyone has the right to a decent job regardless of social status, gender, religion, ethnicity or sexual preference.

    Description: La discriminación se ha convertido en uno de los mayores obstáculos a superar a nivel mundial cuyo impacto se evidencia incluso en el ámbito laboral donde se encaminan búsquedas para encontrar a perfectos candidatos en vacantes disponibles con criterios encasillados a discriminación por origen étnico, religioso o racial donde muchas personas terminan perdiendo una oportunidad de trabajo debido a estos estigmas sociales. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar el impacto de la ética y la discriminación laboral en el área de recursos humanos, al ser uno de los departamentos más importantes que conforma una entidad, aún se ignora en gran medida la aplicación de estándares objetivos para la selección en el proceso de reclutamiento. Por esta razón la investigación está basada en una metodología de revisión bibliográfica al recopilar los datos más sobresalientes de la temática a fin de poder obtener resultados relevantes con un matiz realista. En el análisis de los resultados se refleja mayor contratación para el género masculino, siendo este un indicador de la desigual que se encuentran en las ofertas laborales dentro del país, así como el nivel de reclutamiento se encuentra evidente la discriminación de género donde predomina el grupo masculino a nivel nacional. Se concluye que en Ecuador se hace caso omiso a la constitución de la república donde se indica que toda persona tiene derecho a un trabajo digno sin importar estatus social, género, religión, etnia o preferencia sexual.

    Description: The edited volume Archives and the Cultural Heritage focuses on archives as institutions and to their tense relationship with archives as material. These dynamics are discussed in respect of the past, the present, and the future. The focus lies in the mechanisms the Finnish archive institutions have utilised when taking part in forming the cultural heritage and in debating the importance of the private archives in society. Within social sciences and history from the early 1990s onwards, the effects of globalisation have been seen as a new focal point for research. Momentarily, the archives saw the same paradigm shift as the focus of the archival studies proceeded from state to society. This brought forth the notion that the values of society are reflected in the acquisition of archival material. This archival turn draws attention to the archives as entities formed by cultural practices. The volume discusses cultural heritage within Finnish archives with diverse perspectives and from various time periods. The key concepts are cultural heritage and archives – both as institution and as material. Articles review the formation of archival collections spanning from the 19th to the 21st century and highlight that the archives have never been neutral or objective actors; rather, they have always been an active process of remembering and forgetting, a matter of inclusion and exclusion. The focus is on private archives and on the choices that guided the creation of the archives and the cultural perceptions and power structures associated with them. Although private archives have considerable social and research value, and although their material complements the picture of society provided by documentary data produced by public administrations, they have only risen to the theoretical discussions in the 21st century. The authors consider what has happened before the material ends up in the archive, what happens in the archive and what can be deduced from this. It shows how archival solutions manifest themselves, how they have influenced research and how they still affect it. One of the key questions is whose past has been preserved and whose is deemed worthy of preservation. Under what conditions have the permanently preserved documents been selected and how can they be accessed? In addition, the volume pays attention to whose documents have been ignored or forgotten, as well as to the networks and power of the individuals within the archival institution and to the politics of memory. The Archives and the Cultural Heritage is an opening to a discussion on the mechanisms, practices and goals of Finnish archival activities. It challenges archival organisations to reflect on their own operating models and to make visible their own conscious or unconscious choices. It raises awareness of the formation of the Finnish documentary cultural heritage, produces new information about private archives and participates in the scientific debate on the changing significance of archives in society. The volume is related to the Academy of Finland research project “Making and Interpreting National Pasts – Role of Finnish Archives as Networks of Power and Sites of Memory” (no 25257, 2011–2014/2019), University of Turku. Project partners Finnish Literature Society (SKS) and Society of Swedish Literature in Finland (SLS).

    Description: This article contains issues related to ethics in the advertising activities of multinational companies, particularly those related to misleading and irresponsible advertising, possible calls for attention affecting specific social groups and the competitive market. The objective of the research is to analyze how ethics intervenes in advertising proposed at a global level by multinational companies and the consequences of its scope. The research methodology is of a bibliographic type, by establishing a compilation of data obtained from various sources with an analytical approach to describe characteristics found in the advertising of multinational companies. In the results it is possible to appreciate a comparison of marketing strategies applied by different companies recognized worldwide that alter the reality of their products and services. Regarding the discussion, it is found that currently there are several multinational companies which provide misleading advertising in order to attract the consumer's attention, creating greater skepticism in society and generating doubts about acquiring certain products. Finally, it is understood the essential impact of ethics when presenting advertisements in order not to break the trust between stakeholders and the market, by taking more responsibility in the filter of acceptance in their advertisements.

    Description: El presente artículo contiene cuestiones referentes a la ética en las actividades publicitarias de las empresas multinacionales; particularmente, las que se relacionan con publicidades engañosas e irresponsables, posibles llamadas de atención en afectación a grupos sociales determinados y al mercado competitivo. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar cómo interviene la ética en la publicidad que propongan a nivel global las empresas multinacional y las consecuencias de su alcance. La metodología de investigación es de tipo bibliográfica, al establecerse una recopilación de datos obtenidos de varias fuentes con enfoque analítico para describir características encontradas en la publicidad de empresas multinacionales. En los resultados es posible apreciar una comparación de estrategias de marketing aplicadas por distintas empresas reconocidas a nivel mundial que alteran la realidad de sus productos y servicios. Respecto a la discusión se encuentra que en la actualidad existen varias empresas multinacionales las cuales brindan publicidad engañosa con fin de llamar la atención del consumidor, creando mayor escepticismo a la sociedad y generando dudas sobre adquirir ciertos productos. Finalmente, se comprende el impacto esencial de la ética al momento de presentar anuncios publicitarios para no quebrantar la confianza entre los grupos de interés y el mercado, al abarcar mayor responsabilidad en el filtro de aceptación en sus propagandas.
