    Notes: Modification of Copolyamides via Polymeranalogous Reaction with Glycidyl EthersThe reaction of copolyamides with phenyl glycidyl ether (PGE) and glycidyl oxypropyl-3-triethoxy silane (GPTS) in the presence of anionic catalysts leads to the formation of grafted polyamides. Octanoic acid octylamide (OOA) and a copolyamide of polyamides 6, 66 and 11 were used as polyamide model compounds. The anionic centres were introduced by reaction of the amides with sodium methoxide in boiling toluene. About 15% of the amide groups react with PGE and GPTS. In the presence of GPTS, polycondensation reactions occur and crosslinked products are formed.

    Description / Table of Contents: Die Reaktion von Bisphenol A-diglycidether (BADGE) mit Butan-1,4-diol (BD) in Gegenwart von Mg(ClO4)2 führt in Abhängigkeit von der Reaktionstemperatur zu linearen und verzweigten Oligomeren. Bei 100°C Reaktionstemperatur läßt sich die Produktbildung bis ca. 70% Epoxid-Umsatz durch HPLC feststellen. In diesem Umsatzbereich sind alle Produkte gut in THF löslich, woudurch die Verfolgung des Molmassenanstieges mittels SEC möglich ist. Es wird eine charakteristische Molmasse-Umsatz-Beziehung erhalten sowie die SEC-Daten eines verzweigten Produktes diskutiert.
    Notes: The reaction of bisphenol A-diglycidyl ether (BADGE) with butane-1,4-diol (BD) in the presence of Mg(ClO4)2 leads to linear and branched oligomers. The formation ratio of these products depends on the reaction temperature. In experiments at 100°C, an epoxide consumption of up to 70% can be observed using HPLC. In this range all products show good solubility in THF, so that it is possible to follow the increasing molar mass by using SEC. A characteristic relation of the molar mass against the conversion rate is derived and SEC data of a branched product are discussed.

    Description / Table of Contents: ε-Caprolactam (CL) and phenyl glycidyl ether (PGE) were homopolymerized using the initiator/accelerator-systems Na-caprolactam/N-acetyl-caprolactam (NaCL/AcCL) and Na-caprolactam/N-acetyl imidazole (NaCL/AcImi). In a one-pot reaction both monomers gave different oligomeric reaction products depending on the reaction temperature (100°C to 140°C, max. 240°C) but no regular copolymers. Soluble products were separated by HPLC and identified by means of spectroscopic methods. In acetone insoluble products were investigated by IR- and NMR-spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis.
    Notes: Es wurden Versuche zur Homopolymerisation von ε-Caprolactam (CL) und Phenylglycidether (PGE) mit den Initiator/Beschleuniger-Systemen Na-Caprolactam/N-Acetylcaprolactam (NaCL/AcCL) und Na-Caprolactam/N-Acetylimidazol (NaCL/AcImi) durchgeführt, um die für eine mögliche Copolymerisation von CL und PGE geeigneten Reaktionsbedingungen zu ermitteln. CL und PGE wurden in unterschiedlichen molaren Verhältnissen (CL : PGE = 1 : 5 bis 1 : 0,05) und bei Temperaturen zwischen 100°C und 140°C (max. 240°C) in einer Eintopfreaktion polymerisiert.Die löslichen Produkte wurden mittels HPLC getrennt und spektroskopisch identifiziert. Die in Aceton unlöslichen Produkte wurden mit IR- und NMR-Spektroskopie, Massenspektrometrie (MS) und Elementaranalyse untersucht.

    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and properties of telechelic diglycidyletherbisphenol A (DGEBA)-aniline prepolymers with aminoalcohol endgroups are reported. The composition of the prepolymer mixtures obtained by addition polymerization was analyzed by means of HPLC using a LiChrosorb RP-18 column with water/acetonitrile gradient elution mode. The prepolymers represent a series of homologous oligo(aminodiols) 2, n = (1), 2, 3, 4 ... which are separated into diastereomers. The average value n̄ depends on the molar ratio of the monomers and is varied between 1,0 and 14,0 resulting in M̄n (vapor pressure osmometry) 500-6000 g · mol-1. C, H, N elemental analysis and 13C-NMR spectroscopy were used to estimate the chemical structure of the prepolymer mixtures.
    Notes: Es wird über die Herstellung von telechelen Diglycidylether-Bisphenol A (DGEBA)-Anilin-Prepolymeren mit sekundären Aminoendgruppen und ihre Eigenschaften berichtet. Mittels HPLC an LiChrosorb RP-18 wird die Zusammensetzung der im Zuge der Oligoaddition entstandenen Prepolymermischungen analysiert und ihre chemische Struktur durch C, H, N-Analysen, M̄n-Werte (Dampfdruckosmometrie, VPO) und 13C-NMR-Spektren belegt.

    Notes: During the reaction of 1-phenoxy-2,3-epoxypropane (1) with catalytic amounts of Mg(ClO4)2 a variety of reaction products are formed which do not correpond to a normally distributed oligomer range. Essentially, three reaction paths can be distinguished which lead to oligo-(hydroxyether)s of similar structure (6 and 8) and to cyclic, isomeric dimers (9 and 10) of very low reactivity. During the reaction of bifunctional 2,3-epoxypropyl ethers, cyclic products act as nonreactive diluents decreasing the network density of the final crosslinked product.
