    Description: Caspian trout (Salmo trutta caspius Kessler, 1877) as endemic migratory fish, possessing great ecological economic and biodiversity value. Among the habitat drivers, temperature related effects on the genome were considered in this research. During the embryonic developmental stages, genomic alterations of single cells were assessed by Comet assay. After artificial propagation of wild broodstocks, the batches of eggs, were transferred to incubators with constant temperatures, REDD water recycling, 3 stages water filtration, UV-C application on effluent of each incubator and DO–pH–temperature control. Samples were collected from normal (8°C), cold (4°C) and warm (12°C) treatments on eyed egg, alevin and larval stages. Single Cell Gel Electrophoresis were applied on samples for evaluation of Comet Tail length (TL), DNA in tail (DT) and Tail Moment (TM) indices as DNA damage markers. Comparison between mean values of Comet TL index indicated 85.19 ±9.2, 9.88 ±2.3 and 256.54±14.6 for 4, 8 and 12°C treatments, respectively. DT were 18.07±6.3, 9.72±1.9 and 31.47±2.8 and then TM were measured as 15.27± 4.1, 1.21±0.2 and 95.25±8.6 for 4, 8, and 12°C treatments, respectively. Significant difference between thermal treatments (p〈0.05) observed. Warm treatments demonstrated greater DNA damage in compare with others. TM explained better information in comparison with TL and DT in all analyzed samples. In conclusion, temperatures out of the range of the optimal conditions could significantly affect Caspian trout genome which could be the subject of management considerations pertaining to Caspian trout stocks rehabilitation and captive rearing strategies.

    Description: Considering the importance of estuaries as sensitive ecological areas and temporary habitat of many aquatic animals and also importance of Chironomidae larvae in the food chain and fish feeding, density and distribution of the chironomid larval and their relationship with environmental factors in Cheshmeh Kileh estuary of Tonekabon (South Caspian Sea basin) were investigated. Bimonthly from November 2014 to September 2015, in three stations (S_1 in the river environment, S_2 in estuary environment and S_3 in the marine environment) samples were collected using Van Veen grab (0.03 m^ 2 ) and Surber (0.1 m^2 , 0.2 mm-mesh size) with three replicates. Environmental factors of water including temperature and salinity and sediment relevant factors such as grain size and total organic matter percentage (TOM) were measured. In the present study, three subfamilies were identified, including Chironominae (5 genera), Orthocladinae (4 genera) and Tanypodinae (1 genera). 10 genera were reported from the river and estuary of cheshmeh Kileh for the first time. Among identified genera, the highest and lowest average densities were related to Orthocladius (235 ind. m^-2 ) and Eukiefferiella (45.5 ind. m^-2 ), respectively. Results of monthly distribution showed that the highest and lowest densities of chironomid larval were in March (320±133 ind. m^-2 ) and in September (33.3±11 ind. m^-2 ) respectively which were significantly different, by Duncan's test (p〈0.05). Among sampling stations, river station (S_1) showed higher density (248.3±93.6 ind. m^-2 ) than estuary station (S_2) (90.5±29.6 ind. m^-2 ) and marine station (S_3) (0±0 ind. m^-2 ) which were significantly different (p〈0.05). A significant Pearson correlation (p〈0.05) between the density of chironomid larvae and environmental factors of water and sediment was found.

    Description: Out of considerable environmental factors, temperature and its possible effects on life stages of Caspian trout investigated by natural incubation (8 ͦC) condition simulation comparing with cold (4 ͦC) and warm (12 ͦC) constant incubation temperatures in 3 well equipped incubators by water recycling systems. Green eggs triple treatments of wild and F1 cultured brooders were incubated. Incubation implemented in dark by using REDD water and DO–pH – temperature digital monitoring ended to yolk sac absorption and entering larval stage. Numbers and diameters of white fiber muscles measured and significant differences considered between three thermal treatments (P〈0.05) in both wild and cultured stocks. The numbers of white fiber muscles in warm treatment by highest means (72.54) and lowest diameter (8.46 micrometer) compared with Cold treatment white fiber muscles diameter (20.59 micrometer) and numbers (50.72) which were the highest diameter and lowest numbers means between treatments. Hatching success stated considerable mortality for cold treatments and 8°C incubator improved the best temperature in wild treatment. Incubation temperature induced significant effect on white fiber muscles stated considerable index for flesh precursor muscles condition which is subject of natural stocks rehabilitation and domestication projects considerations.

    Description: Survey is conducted to evaluate the effects of different intensities and durations of red light spectrums on growth performance and survival of Caspian trout (Salmo trutta caspius) in Coldwater Fishes Research Center (CFRC). According to the standard methods and manuals, selected 1.1±0.2 g (1755 individuals) larvae transferred from a registered and well-known hatchery and introduced to the fish tanks in CFRC after quarantine and adaptation procedures. The trial designed for 9 treatments with 3 repeats and fish tanks (California troughs) stocked by 65 larvae. All tanks were separated by dark plastic sheets individually to more controlling actions on special lighting regimes, except controls. Lighting actions were conducted as long as survey stage for 36 days by economic lamps (P: 40/50 W, =550/880 lum) on lighting durations of 12/12, 10/14, 14/10 h (on/off) and 24 (on) by 40/50 W lamps respectively for treatment 1 to 8. Controls are considered in treatment No. 9 by natural and environmental lighting regime. The biometry operations were carried out in a 6 days interval. Results were analyzed with SPSS (Version 12) software and by ANOVA one way analysis method and multiple levels of Duncan Test; graphs were illustrated by Excel software. According to the results, most of the measured factors as growth indicators (FW, WG, FCR and SGR) in treatments (1-8) had showed significant differences in compare of control. In this case, oily drips in retina layer of eye s larvae absorb the short light spectrums and let the long spectrums to be transferred. Thus because of more vision, feeding behavior could develop with lower stress condition. Moreover, some growth factor (SGR, WG and FCR) rates in larvae showed better values significantly in treatment (1) (12/12 h lighting with 550 lum) in compare of other treatments and controls (P≤ 0.05). In addition, there are not any harmonized and expected growth parameters with synchronized red lighting intensities and durations in the Caspian trout larvae.     Description: Primary studies of this project began in winter 1996. After an experimental cruise, main sampling stations were determined and through six cruises the fishes of Jarahee river collected from headwaters in Khouzestan and Kohguilouye & Boyerahmad provinces to Shadegan lagoon. Through the 11 main stations, 1135 specimen of fishes were collected by castnet, gillnet, electroshocker, hoke & line and river-trawl. Collection process had conducted during May, June, August, September, November of 1997 and February of 1998. After one year laboratory studies, collected fishes were identified by some ichthyologic methods. Identified fishes (20 genus and 27 species) belong to nine families of Bagridae, Balitoridae, Cyprinidae, Heteropeneustidae, Mastacembelidae, Mugilidae, Poecilidae, Siluridae, and Sisoridae.
