Aus 3-Hydroxy-3-methyl-Δ5-hexenyl-(1)-phosphat (II) wird über das Phosphoramid III bzw.-morpholid IV mit H3PO4/Pyridin in 42-proz. Ausbeute 3-Hydroxy-3-methyl-Δ5-hexenyl-(1)-pyrophosphat (VII) dargestellt. Daneben entsteht durch intramolekulare Phosphorylierung einer tert.-Hydroxygruppe ein 1.3-Cyclophosphat (XI). Das ungesättigte 1-Pyrophosphat liefert bei der Oxydation mit JO4⊖ in Gegenwart katalytischer Mengen MnO4⊖ DL-Mevalonsäure-5-pyrophosphat (IX). Die Kristallisation gelingt als Dibrucin-Salz.
