On the Reaction of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons with Benzene and Aluminium ChlorideThe various reaction types of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with benzene and aluminium chloride - phenylations, condensation reactions with formation of benzologues of pyrene and fluoranthene, hydrogenations and fragmentations - have been studied with dibenz[a,h]anthracene (1), benzo[b]chrysene (7) and benz[a]anthracene (4) and several new examples for these reaction types have been found. For the rearrangement of the polycyclic aromatic skeleton a mechanism is proposed from new experiments, which postulates carbenium ions of phenylated hydroaromatic compounds from type 25 as intermediate spezies.

Für die bei der Umsetzung von polycyclischen aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen mit Benzol und Aluminiumchlorid ablaufenden Reaktionen wie Phenylierungen, Kondensationsreaktionen unter Bildung von Benzologen des Pyrens und Fluoranthens, Hydrierungen und Fragmentierungen wurden an den Umsetzungen von Dibenz[a,h]anthracen (1), Benzo[b]chrysen (7) und Benz[a]anthracen (4) zahlreiche neue Beispiele gefunden. Für die dabei stattfindende Skelettumlagerung der aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffe wird anhand neuer experimenteller Befunde ein Mechanismus vorgeschlagen, nach dem die Umlagerungen über Carbeniumionen phenylierter hydroaromatischer Zwischenstufen vom Typ 25 verlaufen.
