Reaction of Organophosphorus CH-acidic Compounds with Schiff Bases inthe Presence of Acid and Alkaline Catalysts, VIII. Reactivity of Esters of 2-Thienylmethanephosphonic Acid and their CarbanionsThe carbanions of the esters of 2-thienylmethanephosphonic acid 1, produced by means of NaNH2 react in ether or in liquid NH3 with Schiff bases 2 to form esters of 2-arylamino-2-phenyl-1-(2-thienyl) ethanephosphonic acids 3 and 4 besides trans-1-phenyl-2-(2-thienyl) ethylene (5). By means of competitive reactions with the base 2a in liquid ammonia it is shown, that the diisopropyl ester 1b is more CH-acidic than the diisopropyl phenylmethanephosphonate (6) and that the nucleophilities of the corresponding carbanions are in a reverse correlation to one another. Competitive reaction of the same carbanions of 1b and 6 with benzaldehyde at reflux in ether, however, gives a mixture of 5 and stilbene in which 5 predominates.

Die mit NaNH2 erzeugten Carbanionen der 2-Thienylmethanphosphonsäureester 1 reagieren in Äther oder in flüssigem NH3 mit Schiffschen Basen 2 zu 2-Arylamino-2-phenyl-1-(-thienyl)-äthanphosphonsäureester 3 und 4 neben dem trans-1-Phenyl-2-(2-thienyl)äthylen (5). Durch Konkurrenzversuche um die Base 2a in flüssigem NH3 wird gezeigt, daß der Diisopropylester 1b stärker CH-acid ist als der Phenylmethanphosphonsäure-diisopropylester (6) und daß die Nucleophilie der entsprechenden Carbanionen im umgekehrten Verhältnis zueinander steht. Bei der Konkurrenzreaktion derselben Carbanionen von 1b und 6 um Benzaldehyd in siedendem Äther wird aber ein Gemisch aus überwiegend 5 neben Stilben erhalten.
