Description / Table of Contents:
The Atlas of the energy balance of the Northern Polar area has been made for the first time. It is compiled by a group of scientists of the Arctic and Antarctic research institute and its affiliation in Murmansk. The Atlas includes monthly and annual maps of solar radiation and resulting radiation fluxes at the top of the atmosphere and the earth's surface, all energy fluxes at the earth's surface, annual maps of full energy influxes in the atmosphere and the ocean due to horizontal energy exchange - all components of the energy balance of the Northern Polar area up to 65°N, calculated for mean climatic conditions. In total there are 72 maps in the atlas. The explanatory text of the atlas contains energy balance equations, methods for the calculation of balance components and their brief characteristic. The atlas is intended for scientific and prospecting work and educational purposes. It can be used by a wide range of specialists in the field of natural sciences (meteorologists, climatologists, oceanologists, hydrologists etc), students and post-graduate students of universities, hydrometeorological and teachers training institutes and by those, who are interested in tansformation of the energy in the Northern Polar area.
