    Beschreibung: Vulcano, Sicily 1964. After a meeting with him in Cortona, Helle Busacca, a poet and writer from Messina, began drafting an epistolary diary dedicated to Corrado Pavolini, a well-known intellectual and film director of Tuscan origins with whom she had been in love for over twenty years. Through the so far unpublished pages she dedicated to “una storia senza storia” (“a story without history"), the writer brings to life an incandescent theatre of the self, in which the dramatization of personal experience, the self-representative elaboration and the expression of a living and restless inner self combine in a mixture of strongly hybrid characters, which is conveyed by a disruptive communicative force. As the desperately pursued interlocutor becomes increasingly evanescent and unreachable, the voice of a modern tragic heroine emerges unmistakably between claim and confession.

    Beschreibung: In light of the dramatic events which have been shocking Ukraine since November 2013, this work’s itinerary aims at functioning as a basis for the formulation of new contact points, for a dialogue between traditions and cultures which nowadays are again being shaken by the events of history. The author examines the self-identification paths of the literary phenomenon of Russian language in Ukraine. With the help of interviews with important representatives of the Ukrainian Russian-speaking literary scene, made on the eve of the so-called 'Ukrainian crisis', the author shall closely observe the origins of the marginal nature of these 'post-Soviet hybrid narratives'.

    Beschreibung: This book, the result of a lengthy labour of cataloguing and research, continues the indexing and recording of the unpublished epistolary material conserved in the Dessí fond, launched in 2003 by Chiara Andrei with the edition of the family correspondence (Firenze, FUP). Now, through 1,900 letters from friends and readers, Francesca Nencioni offers a different and more ample overview of the fundamental stages in the life and works of the writer, focusing above all on the years of his university training in Pisa. Of particular interest is the appendix of carefully annotated unpublished texts, which offers 19 letters from Dessí to friends and scholars, the complete two-way correspondence with Walter Binni, and the letters sent to the friend and disciple of the great historian, Delio Cantimori.     Beschreibung: The book develops a reflection, shared by the authors, regarding some pedagogical phenomena which individuals and social groups have been involved in, thanks to theoretical and empirical analyses centred on case studies and articulated on two fronts. On the one hand, the topic is that of identity devices connected with specific educational processes, between being and having to be; on the other hand, there is the topic of the body as privileged observation point and region of identity. Different research experiences converge here in a shared path, aimed at an audience that is interested in the educational processes of today and the past, in its relationship with the controversial concept of identity.

    Beschreibung: Learning devices can be embedded into organizational contexts. Through them learning processes can be intentionally activated as to transform employees while working. Workplaces have their own learning potential due to their high level of structuring and regulation. Their learning potential transform organizational actors while they are in the productive actions. Identifying embedded learning processes helps in intercepting learning valencies of workplace experiences and observing learning actions that can lead to transformative processes. Results of related research activities are presented in the volume. They have been carried out in more than ten years of research implemented in three types of organisations: business, museum, prison. Research experiences are analysed by using a model of study that is based on the reconstruction of the learning processes as they are experienced by the actors considered. Moreover the model is based on the analysis of learning actions that are embedded into the productive and service provision processes. Factors and conditions are analysed as well through which organisations can act on employees transformation.

    Beschreibung: Nowadays poverty can be defined as a construct that can no longer be ascribed to the material scarcity of resources but to the lack of all available relational, social and cultural resources, that are an expression of a “suffering” territory. This fragility testifies to a problem of educational sustainability that requires an exit from the emergency logic of “buffer interventions” by activating social, training and professional networks, capable of responding to the educational needs expressed by the territory. For this reason, in the epistemic framework of Civil and Digital-Civil Pedagogy, the need emerges for new professional profiles capable of being “managers” of integrated territorial development, educators-planners of territorial educational services with a view to social sustainability and the educational human transition.

    Beschreibung: The 43rd UID conference, held in Genova, takes up the theme of ‘Dialogues’ as practice and debate on many fundamental topics in our social life, especially in these complex and not yet resolved times. The city of Genova offers the opportunity to ponder on the value of comparison and on the possibilities for the community, naturally focused on the aspects that concern us, as professors, researchers, disseminators of knowledge, or on all the possibile meanings of the discipline of representation and its dialogue with ‘others’, which we have broadly catalogued in three macro areas: History, Semiotics, Science / Technology. Therefore, “dialogue” as a profitable exchange based on a common language, without which it is impossible to comprehend and understand one another; and the graphic sign that connotes the conference is the precise transcription of this concept: the title ‘translated’ into signs, derived from the visual alphabet designed for the visual identity of the UID since 2017. There are many topics which refer to three macro sessions: - Witnessing (signs and history) - Communicating (signs and semiotics) - Experimenting (signs and sciences) Thanks to the different points of view, an exceptional resource of our disciplinary area, we want to try to outline the prevailing theoretical-operational synergies, the collaborative lines of an instrumental nature, the recent updates of the repertoires of images that attest and nourish the relations among representation, history, semiotics, sciences.

    Beschreibung: War is an event, theme, topos that induces fiction more than any other – stimulating, one might say, superego-like instances of historical fidelity – to press on its own boundaries, inhibit the space of the invention and merge with non-fictional forms of writing (memorial, diary, reportage ...). But in what way and to what extent its literary (as well as theatrical, cinematographical, comic book...) representation has changed – in terms of tone and strategies, in the degree of deformation of the known and shared reality – in the space of a Century that has seen the transformation of war strategies, media coverage and consequently the collective imagination linked to conflicts? The volume, conceived and edited by Nicola Turi, while tracing the individual path of known and lesser-known authors, in relation to the main theme of the book, both Italian and not (from Leopardi to Zanzotto, from Gadda to Calvino, from Salsa to Dessí, from Luzi and Fenoglio to Leavitt, Eisner and Celestini), also stimulates and elaborates a profound reflection on the bewilderment and natural attraction of the artistic gesture (from time to time in the name of fierce irony, desperate incredulity, the elegiac testimony) for evil, pain, the martial distortion of the human, social and political context.

    Beschreibung: The keynote of the recent history of the faculty of educational science of Florence University is change. This has emerged in response to the demands for education expressed by a new knowledge society, spawned by the processes of globalisation, and the social need to foster interculturalism and the dialogue between diversities. In this new dimension of change, education becomes the framework for preparation, but also for re-integrating and updating life itineraries that are swift and precarious, veined with insecurity and disillusionment. Even in the new approach, the scientific and cultural benchmark continues to be a consistent adherence to the secular, historic-pedagogic and educational tradition represented by the masters of the "Florence School". Since its creation in 1996, the new faculty has staked forcefully on the centrality of training in relation to the traditional focus on the professionalism of primary and secondary school teachers, and on the new extra-scholastic training issues: the educational professions; pedagogic care; the social education of adults; the technologies of education and instruction; the philosophic, sociological, psychological and anthropological dimension of education; the broad sphere of hardship and marginalisation and the different faces of diversity.

    Beschreibung: Recent years have seen the publication of a great deal of the work of Ruggero Jacobbi, a legendary figure of Italian twentieth-century culture, thanks to a praiseworthy retrieval of unpublished material conserved in the «A. Bonsanti» contemporary archive of the Gabinetto «G.P. Vieusseux». However, despite so many new pages of poetry and translation, what was still lacking was the writer's voice. The voice which, thanks to the painstaking work of Eleonora Pancani, we can now read (if not hear), as with characteristic dexterity it intermingles verses and music, literature and theatre, politics and entertainment. Ruggero Jacobbi alla radio presents the transcription of several radio programmes of the 70s featuring the genial culture of this multi-faceted intellectual. Jacobbi entertains his audience, discorsing on literary history, the figurative arts and opera, quoting poetry, discussing plays, mingling observations on Goldoni, Pirandello, Bontempelli, Savinio, Pessoa and García Lorca in an engaging anecdotal style that involves the cinema, the theatre and literature, while the great figures of tradition and recent history are interwoven with reminiscences of private life.

    Beschreibung: Karel Teige was one of the leading theorists of the Czech avant-garde, and his activity is bound up with the most enriching cultural contributions made to the Czech Republic in the first half of the twentieth century. Proclaiming himself a Marxist, he was frequently at odds with Czech liberal-pragmatic thought. The emergence of European totalitarianism coincided with a major turning-point in his life when, towards the end of the 1930s, he had to come to terms with the Nazi invasion of his country and with the local version of Stalinism. After the War he was marginalised from cultural life and he died of a heart attack while being persecuted in a ferocious campaign of defamation by the Communist Party. The book offers a portrait of this protagonist of European culture and of the process of rediscovery that in the 1960s reintegrated his work and his thought into the extraordinary cultural revival that blossomed in the Prague Spring of 1968.

L’esperienza nasce dalla volontà di progettare e condividere un percorso di realizzazione di programmi di formazione sulla cittadinanza attiva e partecipata, oltre che sulla prevenzione e sul superamento di tutte le forme di discriminazione e di intolleranza, tramite l’utilizzo di metodologie che possano essere trasversalmente contestualizzate all’interno della formazione scolastica, di quella universitaria e della formazione delle professionalità educative e sociali in generale. L’approccio di ricerca-azione e l’asse Associazioni-Scuola-Università si ritrova nell’ossatura dell’intero volume che, ad una prima parte di orientamento teorico in cui ci si sofferma sugli elementi cardine del nostro discorso pedagogico (intercultura, integrazione, narrazione), fa seguire altre tre sezioni a carattere operativo-metodologico descritte da tutti gli attori protagonisti del progetto.

    Beschreibung: In 2020, Norway’s national curriculum for primary and secondary school eduction, known as Kunnskapsløftet, came into effect. The plan is marked by increased emphasis on education for sustainability, and a notable example of this is the inclusion of sustainable development as an interdisciplinary topic in most subjects in primary and secondary school. As a result, the focus on sustainabilty has also increased in teacher eduction programs, for preschool as well as primary and secondary school teachers. Furthermore, a number of research networks have been established to explore sustainability in the context of education, and new research and textbooks are being published on this topic. This anthology presents new research on how the subject of sustainability is being handled in schools and preschools today, to all those interested in the topic. Education for Sustainability. Et synlig uttrykk for dette er at bærekraftig utvikling skal inn som et tverrfaglig tema i de fleste fag i grunnskolen og i videregående skole. Som en følge av dette har fokuset på bærekraft økt både i lærerutdanningen og i barnehagelærerutdanningen. Det er i tillegg etablert en mengde forskningsnettverk som jobber med temaet bærekraft og utdanning, og forskning og nye lærebøker har blitt publisert om temaet. The city of Genova offers the opportunity to ponder on the value of comparison and on the possibilities for the community, naturally focused on the aspects that concern us, as professors, researchers, disseminators of knowledge, or on all the possibile meanings of the discipline of representation and its dialogue with ‘others’, which we have broadly catalogued in three macro areas: History, Semiotics, Science / Technology. Therefore, “dialogue” as a profitable exchange based on a common language, without which it is impossible to comprehend and understand one another; and the graphic sign that connotes the conference is the precise transcription of this concept: the title ‘translated’ into signs, derived from the visual alphabet designed for the visual identity of the UID since 2017.     Beschreibung: In this book, Francesca Nencioni uses semantics to reconstruct, with skill and intelligence, the 'characters' and 'specimens' of the Hermetic prose (Parronchi, I giorni sensibili; Luzi, Biografia e Ebe; Bigongiari, La donna miriade; Gatto, La sposa bambina), proposing a new way of reading the works which marked the early Hermetic period in Florence. Using stylistic tools, analysis of language, rhythm and melody, and a comparative perspective shifting continuously among the genres, the author gives new semantics to the category of absence (through female metamorphosis, transience and death), and explores the coordinates of time (the hours of day, the movements of stars and planets, the alternation of seasons) and space (the four elements, the beloved places and the real landscapes), then combines synchronic investigation with an excursus on the study of semantic variables in the two editions of Biografia e Ebe and La sposa bambina.

    Beschreibung: The volume starts from the monograph of the author entitled Per una pedagogia di “confine”, deepening a series of pedagogical relationships, from the epistemological level of the relationship of pedagogy with other disciplines, to the theoretical level of learning “over the course of life”, up to the methodological level the relationships researcher/educator, teacher/student, learner in an individual/cooperative situation.     Beschreibung: This research offers an integral analysis of the aesthetic thought of the director, playwright and art theorist Nikolaj Nikolaevic Evreinov. The work focuses on the analysis of the treaty The revelation of art, written in Paris in the 1930s, which represents the greatest testimony of the author's research in the aesthetic field. Henceforth, a connection is offered between the known aspects of Evreinov's theatrical thought, relating to the period of the avant-garde in Russia, and others, of a broader nature, which have long been precluded from being known. Through insights on the Russian theatrical history of the early 20th century, reflections touching textual criticism, the history of aesthetic thought and Russian criticism, the complex figure of an artist emerges against the background of the culture expressed by post-revolutionary Russian emigration. An artist who, as an intellectual, begins a dialogue with the Western European cultural tradition. This book thus intends to restore the visibility, as well as an exegetical and historiographic completeness, of Evreinov’s rich legacy as a writer, a philosopher and a critic.

    Beschreibung: Vasyl’ Stus's (1938-1985) poetry is one of the richest and most complex chapters in the literary history of late Soviet Ukraine. His poems are not only born of the author’s talent, but also of his erudition and deep cultural awareness; Stus’s poetry eloquently shows the presence of a significant Modernist trend in the literature of the Ukrainian underground during the Age of Economic stagnation. Stus's Modernism is the ideal evolution of the Ukrainian poetic culture of the first decades of the century, and develops thanks to an intense intertextual dialogue with the European literature. Stus’s reception of Russian and German poetry, in addition to becoming the model for nineteenth-century and early-twentieth-century Ukrainian poetry, proves fundamental to fully understand his work’s literary palimpsest, which this volume offers a comprehensive reading of, from the early stages to the maturity’s collections.

    Beschreibung: The Spanish civil war is considered a key point of analysis of the first half of the 1900s because of the peculiar context in which it developed, the ideologies that provoked it and for the controversies that still accompany it. An event of this magnitude has had and continues to have a great resonance in literature; this essay compares two authors at the antipodes, which well summarize the socio-political debate that accompanies the theme: José María Gironella, author close to the regime, and Juan Benet, hermetic writer. The contrast between the motivations and objectives of the two writers is accompanied by incompatible narrative choices. With memory as both a judge and a defendant, the authors open two different paths of communication with the reader: from history to man, from man to history.

Ne emerge l’immagine di un testo complesso, che assomma precetti di chiara natura religiosa, norme morali piú generiche e regole pratiche per la vita quotidiana: quindi, come in altri componimenti dell’autore, il ruolo di primo piano assegnato all’elemento religioso – che costituisce un indiscusso punto di contatto con Guiraut Riquier – non è disgiunto da attenzione e sensibilità per le esigenze piú propriamente umane e sociali.

    Beschreibung: This volume contains Italian contributions to the XV Slavists’ International Congress (Minsk, 20-27 August 2013). In the wake of the best Italian Slavic tradition, the lecturers present a wide range of themes in different languages, ranging from the Cyril-Methodian question to the critical reflection on contemporary authors. Despite the diversity of disciplinary and methodological approaches - from paleography to textual analysis, from literary comparative studies to sociolinguistics - these contributions show that Italian Slavistic studies maintains their roots, critically developing previous studies and opening up new perspectives for research, while a new generation of scholars is born. As in the past, Italian studies on Slavistics are playing a significant role not only in Italy's cultural relations with the Slavic countries, but more generally on the perspective of a vast and complex process of integration of the various European cultures, which goes further beyond the borders of the European Union; a process in which the Slavic world, with its variety of languages and cultures, is one of the main actors.

    Beschreibung: A poet, critic and translator, Giovanni Raboni is one of the most important figures in the literary panorama of the second half of the 20th Century. This volume sheds light on his twofold journey in the chaotic magma of the 50s and 60s: on the one hand the encounters and discoveries of a passionate and keen critic and reader, on the other the first steps of a young poet in search of his own voice . Young Raboni’s path arises from a courageous confrontation with the urgencies of his time, and is nourished by a profound dialogue with "poetry in flesh and blood", "poetry that is made".     Beschreibung: What does the growing interest of literary criticism towards the representation of nature and its ethical implications tell us? In which folds of narrative, poetic or cinematographic discourse do the manifestations of a continuously renewed sensitivity for the contradictions of progress, for the precarious coexistence between human, animal and plant agents lie? And what kind of relationships can there be between the semantics of places and landscapes, expressed in a fictional world, and eco-criticism? Sixteen essays suspended between 'text' analysis and theory of criticism are solicited and collected by Nicola Turi, in an attempt to answer these and other questions affecting the function and orientations of contemporary criticism, its ability to give back the forms of artistic language, and at the same time its recurring temptation to confront, as Calvino's Bradamante would say, with the «life behind it that pushes and disarranges all the leaves of the book».

    Beschreibung: This study deals with the first works by Don DeLillo, from Americana (1971) to Running Dog (1978), but it also extends its investigation horizon to his following works. The work deals specifically with the conception of time, and the way it is represented in the texts of the American author. By integrating the philosophy of time with narratology, the volume offers critical reflections aimed at identifying the type of poetics through which DeLillo articulates time in his work. In particular, the centrality of the perception of time in his novels and, more specifically, the concentration of the plots in certain moments, the oblique presence of the influence of Samuel Beckett's work in the representation of duration and the attention of the author to the double temporality of the cinematographic image and its hidden aesthetic potential are highlighted. Therefore, time becomes the conceptual context in which the textures of these texts, and the themes characterising them, find a resolution. In the representation of time, in the microscopic analysis and in the slow motion of some specific time segments, DeLillo's narrative traces the possibilities of an indefinable and mysterious perception of reality and history.

Con un’antologia di testi al femminile investigates the rhetoric of ‘vision’ at a theoretical, literary and linguistic level: through the analysis of a corpus of important authors of the twentieth century – Campo, Guidacci, Virgillito, Zambrano and Weil – it traces the routes of a new resemantization of some symbols from the mystical tradition. This publication aims to make Geiger’s poetical work available to a broader audience and place it aside his better known writing on Art History. Geiger’s specific role as a mediator and bridge between two cultures makes his poetical work extremely significant, as well as considering his prolific activity as a literary translator to which he devoted himself throughout his life. The current edition provides bilingual parallel text, preceded by an introductory essay and a biographical profile of the author. The critical apparatus highlights both the intertextual references and the writer’s complex links with the Italian and German poetical traditions.

    Beschreibung: This book on Slavic matriarchy is the result of the studies and researches that Evel Gasparini carried out over the span of his lifetime. Intrigued by the possibility of a close link between the collective ownership of the land and the ancient agricultural-matriarchal substrate of Slav culture, Gasparini launched on the titanic enterprise of analysing the archaeological and historical sources of early Slavic civilisation. Basing himself on a concept of culture elaborated in the ethnological field, he brought to light certain contradictions in the application of the Indo-European paradigm to Slavic culture and identified a series of elements illustrating the matriarchal substrate. Exploiting an uncommon knowledge of cultural anthropology and profound linguistic competencies, in this book Gasparini maps out a complex panorama ranging from the economy to the social structure and from the religious traditions to music and dance. Out of print for some time, the book is now proposed in a new, more convenient form, complete with an appendix on Finns and Slavs – which was originally intended as another chapter in the book but was then left out – a detailed preface by Gasparini's disciple Remo Faccani, and a bibliography of the scholar's oeuvre edited by Donatella Possamai.

    Beschreibung: This volume concerns the role of the Italian schools, the associations and their actors to counteract educational dispersion and encourage the inclusion of minors with a migratory background. The work is part of a collaboration project between Inapp (National Institute for Public Policy Analysis) and Aiig (Italian Association of Geography Teachers) aimed to map the “Analysis, training and territorial activities for preventing/countering the risks of educational dispersion of young people with a migratory background” (June 2022 - March 2023). This collaboration stems from a program agreement between Inapp and Ministry of Labor and Social Policies - General Directorate of Immigration, on “Citizen Integration Policies of Third Countries”. The first part, focused on theoretical aspects, develops the idea of a school as welcoming community, in which disciplines such as geography and tools such as digital teaching can be significant resources to draw on. Related to this, a specific focus on the socio-cultural development in the border and internal areas is underlined. The second part collects the empirical evidences emerging from some territorial laboratories and training courses organized by Inapp and Aiig in various Italian regions. These evidences represent the main results of a qualitative survey on risks of educational dropout of young people with a migratory background. A wealth of proposals together with successful and critical factors is unraveled. In the last section of the volume, these various and original practices are reported by teachers, school managers, and operators, representatives of voluntary organisations, associations and third sector. The idea was to carry out the research not on the actors of inclusion, but with them, giving voice to their experiences. It was a sort of an ideal journey from the north of Italy, where the presence of students with a migratory background is higher, to the south, considered the land of their arrival and transit.

    Beschreibung: This volume reconstructs the birth and evolution of the Italian literary history in France and England during the 19th century. In the French context, a comparative reading of the works by Pierre-Louis Ginguené and Jean Charles Léonard Simonde de Sismondi confirms that the subject had already reached its maturity at the beginning of the century. On the other hand, in England, the path leading from Ugo Foscolo to John Addington Symonds passes through multiple genres and sources, including collections of biographies, anthologies of translations, travel books, histories of individual literary genres, histories from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. At the end of this path, a software pipeline is tested and developed with the aim of expanding the analysis through the computational tools of the Digital Humanities.

    Beschreibung: Drawing on different disciplinary and historiographic traditions, the volume offers a series of summaries and thematic insights, functional to contextualising the peculiar case of the episcopate of Bobbio, founded in 1014 in the Piacenza Apennines as a development of the famous monastery of San Colombano. The considerable documentary source available thanks to the recent reorganization of the diocesan archives, which made it possible to illustrate the cathedral library as well, required an overall presentation and specific attention to the constitutive acts of the new institution. The deepening of the historical context, within which the subsequent diocesan story unfolds, was conducted in relationship with the monastery and with a selection of the nearby cities. The analysis of the settlement dynamics of the Bobbian center and of the structural developments of the church and of the episcopal complex are counterpointed by both in-depth analyses aimed at the organization of the territory, captured in its civil, religious, welfare articulations, and treatments of cultural and liturgical components that animate this Church.

    Beschreibung: Author of Architettura del medioevo in Sardegna which won him the Premio Nazionale Olivetti in 1956, Raffaello Delogu was an art historian and Commissioner for Antiquities and Monuments in Sardinia, Abruzzo and Sicily. His correspondence with one of the most eminent Italian writers of the second half of the twentieth century, as transcribed and lavishly annotated here by Monica Graceffa, reveals him not only as a committed intellectual devoted to the study of ancient and modern art, but also as a caustic and playful friend. His dialogue with Giuseppe Dessí commenced in their youth, when Dessí was an amateur painter on the way to maturity, who instead rapidly developed into a mature writer and attentive connoisseur of all forms of art. In addition to their studies and mutual friends (including Claudio Varese and Maria Lai), they also shared an interest in painting and in what Dessí was experiencing (his moves, his political passion) and what he was writing (fiction, drama, essays); important in this regard are the letters touching on the collaboration of both on the Sardinian issue of Pietro Calamandrei's «Il Ponte».

    Beschreibung: Young pre-teens attending junior high schools are going through a very delicate period: they are not just engaged in a new and more complex school career but they are also engaged in their daily tasks of training and negotiating their identities and their roles in the different peer groups. This complex scenario is expanded by their first experiences, far from the eyes of adults, with technologies: tools that add, on the relational universe just described, an existential dimension that opens up new forms of communication mediated by digital contexts. Do technologies have an influence between on the relational dynamics that take place between students and their peers and between students and teachers? Which kind of influence? What dynamics are involved? What kind of technology is at stake? Is there a relationship of influence between the relationships mediated by the digital contexts and the social climate of a learning environment? What kind of influence? How much do students rely on digital-enriched relationships to satisfy their relationship needs? What perception do students and teachers have of relational dynamics mediated by digital contexts? And what role do they give to the school in this problem? To try to provide an answer to these questions, the volume presents a phenomenology of the witness of 21 teachers and 365 boys and girls belonging to two Italian and two French schools.

    Beschreibung: With the additional help of archival material, the first part of this volume reconstructs the history of the Institute for Eastern Europe (Ipeo), founded in Rome in 1921, whose activity was characterized by a remarkable editorial production closely connected to the birth and development of Italian Slavic Studies. Despite the inevitable coexistence with fascism and the submission, somehow, to a line of conduct which especially in the 1930s accompanied the regime’s policy, the Ipeo’s activity was marked above all by a sincere desire to spread knowledge of a world which was still quite unknown in the Italian context under many aspects. The Ipeo operated until the end of World War II, when the government funding and even the political and cultural assumptions which had favoured its birth ceased because of the changed geopolitical context, determined by the end of the conflict. The second part of the volume covers the General alphabetical catalogue of all Ipeo’s publications, accompanied by a Chronological catalogue and by an Index of authors, editors, translators and preface writers.

    Beschreibung: This collection of studies is dedicated to Cesare G. De Michelis for his seventy years. It contains contributions by friends and students wishing to recall his teaching and research, together with the variety and breadth of his interests.     Beschreibung: Despite the indisputable richness of the Montalian bibliography, there still was no comment on a fundamental collection such as La bufera e altro, published, after a complex and protracted gestation, by Neri Pozza in 1956. The aim of this book is to fill that void, giving a first contribution to the exegesis of one of Montale's densest - and most difficult - works, where the poet draws the conclusions of a long research to restart his own inexhaustible search for new languages and imagery. Between preliminary introductions (proper essays) and notes, she tries to take stock of the matter by comparing the various existing critical hypotheses and proposing - in a close hand-to-hand with the text, verse by verse, problematising rather than glossing over - an original interpretative line.

    Beschreibung: Il contributo propone l’edizione critica del prosimetro di Giovanni Maria Parente Gloriosissimi Geminiani Vita corredato da undici silografie: il testo è contenuto in un incunabolo uscito a Modena l’11 marzo 1495 presso lo stampatore Domenico Rococciola. L’incunabolo, che si conserva presso la Biblioteca Estense di Modena con segnatura α. J. 7. 9 (1), rappresenta uno dei rari esemplari superstiti della tiratura del 1495. L’opera si configura come la più ampia attestazione narrativa in volgare di un interesse verso la storia e il culto di san Geminiano, vescovo di Modena nel IV secolo. Analizzandone il contesto storico-letterio, culturale e linguistico, si riconosce nella Gloriosissimi Geminiani Vita del Parente un testo di produzione locale a carattere popolare, che attinge alle forme e ai generi letterari della tradizione del Trecento e del Quattrocento, uno strumento di devozione rivolto in particolare agli illitterati, anche per l’alternarsi delle immagini alla prosa e ai versi.

    Beschreibung: Ivan Aksenov is one of the most neglected figures of early 20th Century Russian literature. The few scholars who have noticed his great originality interpret his verses above all as an application of the principles of Cubist painting in poetry, in the light of the experiences of Mayakovsky &Co.; these investigations denote a poor knowledge of the author, who did not fail to declare the incompatibility between the two artistic media. This book is therefore the first systematic study of Aksenov's poetry, starting from a reflection on the philological state of the texts, to move on to the reconstruction of his aesthetic thought and to integral analyzes of poetic compositions. An unprecedented theory of art emerges from this - which develops ideas of Tolstoy, Vjaceslav Ivanov and Freud - and a production in verses characterized by daring metric innovations and a flow-of-consciousness poetics of the with a subtly humorous urbanism that recalls authors such as Apollinaire and Cendrars. It is thus intended to highlight the peculiarity of Aksenov, the only Russian poet from the Futurist area to have participated, even for a few months, in the cultural life of Paris in the 1910s and an advocate at home of themes and stylistic elements partly related to the French esprit nouveau.

    Beschreibung: The concept of the literary canon is one of the most debated and controversial in the western intellectual tradition. This book offers ten contributions by Italian scholars of Anglo-American culture addressing the way in which the concept of the literary canon holds out against areas traditionally considered as external or extraneous to it. The essays range over different topics: the etymological analysis of the term "canon"; the relations between canon and performativity; paraliterature – a universe populated by non-hierarchic genres; the relations between post-colonial literature and the canon; postmodern biofiction; studies on translation and finally gay and lesbian literature. The book ends with a meditation on the innovations wrought on the Anglo-American canon by the virtual world of Internet and with a reading proposal originating from a different area of literary studies. Taken as a whole, the intention of the book is to pave the way to democratisation and pluralism in literary studies, going beyond the limitations set by the traditional scale of values of the "western canon". It proposes a frequentation of the geographical and cultural borderlines and hence of the areas of resistance that such borderlines pose to the dominant conceptual hierarchies within and around us, enabling us to glimpse an original future for literature and for western culture in a broader sense.

    Beschreibung: “A humanity that forgets Buchenwald, Auschwitz, Mauthausen, I cannot accept it. I write for us to remember”: this was Giorgio Bassani’s answer to anyone who asked him about the origin of his writing. Guided by these words, Anna Dolfi has woven a fabric of suggestions that have pushed Italian and foreign scholars and even some protagonists to reflect on narrators, poets, essayists, historians, philosophers, publishers, artists, who have been induced by the history of a difficult affiliation to a sort of fatal, testimonial moral duty. The result was a book of great novelty for style and reading proposals which, starting from the ancient Jewish tradition, from legends relived in a political and libertarian key, after the Romanticism and the German 19th Century, brings to the fore the modern voices of European and North American literature/culture, and of the Yiddish and Eastern tradition. The names of the great Jewish intellectuals of Central Europe are recurring: Canetti, Schulz, Döblin, Antelme, Wiesel, Sebald, Oz, Grossman, Nelly Sachs, Irène Némirovsky..., among the Italians those of Loria, Natalia Ginzburg, Giacomo Debenedetti, Cesare Segre..., but especially Giorgio Bassani and Primo Levi who, in order to keep the memory of the tragedy of persecution and the Shoah, have chosen to place their entire work “entre la vie et la mort”. Eventually, all this leads to remembering how the duty to testify is linked to the affection and work of mourning, to the lasting effect of an immediate wound that nourishes the connection between the truth of what happened and what one might call the “truth of creation”, le vrai du roman.

    Beschreibung: The volume, originating from the 5th Slavic Linguistics Meeting (Rome, 25-27 September 2014), reflects the state of the most recent research carried out in Italy in this discipline. It aims to continue the tradition already started at the end of the 1980s from the series Morphosyntactic problems of Slavic languages (Bologna 1988, 1990, 1991; Padua 1994, 1995), which has been recently renewed in the volumes published after the Meetings of Bergamo (2007), Padua (2008), Forlì (2010) and Milan (2014).     Beschreibung: Scarti, tracce e frammenti: controarchivio e memoria dell’umano. Literature and art, increasingly interested in the dark side of production, now appear as a reservoir of fragments and waste of all sorts. The attraction towards scraps, conceived as anti-goods, testifies the existence of a parallel world where the myths of growth and productivity show their tragic face. Through different textualities and media, waste emerges as a testimony of a subversive marginality from which unexpected perspectives, which can undermine the established order, arise. The volume, using the image of waste, offers a hidden or marginalized counter history, which however 'returns' overbearingly in order to give contemporaneity its shapeless substance.

Denne antologien belyser disse spørsmålene fra ulike vinkler og ulike fagtradisjoner. Internasjonalisering i lærerutdanningen dreier seg gjerne om internasjonal praksis, og mange lærerutdanningsinstitusjoner har drevet med praksis i det globale sør i ulike varianter gjennom mange år. Bidragene i antologien er alle skrevet av fagansatte ved norske lærerutdanninger, som kommer fra ulike fagfelt som engelsk, norsk, pedagogikk, sosiologi, antropologi og samfunnsgeografi. Dette illustreres ved bruk av forskjellig teoretisk tilnærming, empirisk materiale og ulike analyseteknikker. Alle bidragene har kvalitative tilnærminger, hvor leseren møter både lærerstudentenes stemmer og stemmene til samarbeidspartnere i sør. Kapitlene belyser praksis og utenlandssemestre i Zambia, Namibia, Tanzania og Sør-Afrika. Ett kapittel dreieseg om praksis i en flyktningleir. Antologien reiser også kritiske spørsmål omkring internasjonalisering og hvordan det også innebærer en risiko for nykolonialisme, og at studentene kan se verden gjennom et «turistblikk». Det argumenteres for hvordan dette kan unngås gjennom grundig forberedelse, oppfølging og etterarbeid. Dette er den første antologien som omhandler forskning på praksis og lengre opphold i det globale sør, og den henvender seg til en bred målgruppe: fra politikere og byråkrater som legger til rette for studentmobilitet i høyere utdanning, til forskere, profesjonsutdannere og studenter.     Beschreibung: The 43rd UID conference, held in Genova, takes up the theme of ‘Dialogues’ as practice and debate on many fundamental topics in our social life, especially in these complex and not yet resolved times. The city of Genova offers the opportunity to ponder on the value of comparison and on the possibilities for the community, naturally focused on the aspects that concern us, as professors, researchers, disseminators of knowledge, or on all the possibile meanings of the discipline of representation and its dialogue with ‘others’, which we have broadly catalogued in three macro areas: History, Semiotics, Science / Technology. Therefore, “dialogue” as a profitable exchange based on a common language, without which it is impossible to comprehend and understand one another; and the graphic sign that connotes the conference is the precise transcription of this concept: the title ‘translated’ into signs, derived from the visual alphabet designed for the visual identity of the UID since 2017. There are many topics which refer to three macro sessions: - Witnessing (signs and history) - Communicating (signs and semiotics) - Experimenting (signs and sciences) Thanks to the different points of view, an exceptional resource of our disciplinary area, we want to try to outline the prevailing theoretical-operational synergies, the collaborative lines of an instrumental nature, the recent updates of the repertoires of images that attest and nourish the relations among representation, history, semiotics, sciences.

Digitale medier byr på nye muligheter for å kombinere skrift med bilder og lyd, for aktiv respons, interaktiv utprøving og sosial samhandling. Det har vært satset stort på digitalt utstyr i høyere utdanning gjennom en årrekke, men arbeidsformene har ikke forandret seg tilsvarende. I denne boka analyserer forfatterne konkrete arbeidskrav og trekker inn studentenes refleksjoner omkring hvordan tekster og medier fungerer i læringsprosesser i ulike fag. Bokas forfattere er alle ansatte ved Universitetet i Agder: professor Elise Seip Tønnessen, førstelektor Nils Rune Birkeland, førsteamanuensis Eli-Marie Danbolt Drange, førsteamanuensis Gunhild Kvåle, førstelektor Magnhild Vollan og professor Gro-Renée Rambø.

    Beschreibung: «The good comic novel». La narrativa comica di Henry Fielding e l’importanza dell’esempio cervantino analyses the influence of Don Quixote on Henry Fielding’s fiction, starting with a survey of the reception of the Spanish novel in England. Joseph Andrews and Tom Jones are analyzed and compared with the Spanish novel, from which Fielding overtly borrowed some characters, episodes, and Cervantes’ parodic strategies. Fielding’s and Cervantes’s narrative proceeded from the parodic deconstruction and subsequent innovation of previous literature, with the main purpose of teaching and amusing the reader at the same time. Finally, the volume examines the role of Fielding and Cervantes in the rise of the fictional and the self-conscious novel.

Sentralt i boken er refleksjoner rundt studentenes erfaringer, vilkårene for god studielivskvalitet og utfordringer knyttet til den rådende forståelsen av kvalitet i dagens høyere utdanning.

    Beschreibung: This volume brings together 474 letters that Luciano Anceschi and Oreste Macrí wrote each other for 50 years. The strong point of the deep (and maybe unexpected) friendship between the two critics – based on the shared and fierce activism, on the common outlook of an «uncompromising humanism» – is curiously a dialectical progression that almost always excludes the perspective of a total agreement. It is a dialogue that springs from differences, and that exhorts to think about them. After the Second World War, the protagonists of the correspondence started to relaxedly discuss about the present and future of the European cultural civilization, the meaning of a literature that seems to illustrate a permanent state of crisis, and the events that gave life to the literary debate until the threshold of the new millennium, between post-hermetic tendencies and new experimentalisms.

    Beschreibung: The volume reconstructs the role of the "art objects" in the renewal of identity (social, political and cultural) of the Mannelli family, among the oldest families of the Florentine patriciate. During the 17th Century the main exponents adopted a lifestyle inspired by the Medici court, gradually dismantling, but at different times, the dress of the merchant. The analysis of the main town and countryside residences and of the displaying of the objects of art, conducted on a documentary basis and with the “display of art” critical tools, returns the fundamental stages of the renewal process and, together with numerous autonomous episodes of unpublished patronage and collecting, the emergence of common narrative strategies of historical and political identity through art objects.

It is not precipitate to consider that the peculiarity of Celan's poetry and its reception lies in the persistent and ongoing interest displayed by philosophical criticism. Adopting an inclusive formula that goes beyond the mere notion of a "philosophical space", Massimo Baldi and Fabrizio Desideri aim to bring together readings and interpretative theories that are significantly diverse, albeit marked by the common intention of focusing the radical singularity of Celan's writing. All the essays presented here effectively reveal an attention to that engagement inherent in the letter of the poetic dictate, in the pungency of its inscription, which we must respect and listen to if we wish to understand Celan.

    Beschreibung: Wackenroder's conception of music is strongly influenced by the musical thought of the composer Johann Friedrich Reichardt, who was a romantic music teacher, friend and mentor of Wackenroder, whom he introduced to the 'realm of sounds'. Reichardt was the author of numerous essays on music and of the unique Musikerroman from the Enlightenment period (Leben des berühmten Tonkünstlers Heinrich Wilhelm Gulden nachher genannt Guglielmo Enrico Fiorino, 1779). Wackenroder e Reichardt: musica e letteratura nel primo Romanticismo tedesco (“Wackenroder and Reichardt: music and literature in the first German Romanticism”) compares the literary works of the two authors and investigates the results of their influence. The work retraces the transition from the conception of music during the Enlightenment, linked to the social function of art, to the idea of an 'absolute' music of the Romantic era, determining the artist's problematic existence.

    Beschreibung: As scattered pieces of a composite artistic path to be reassembled, the personal notes, writing tests, private letters and reviews kept by Giuseppe Dessí over the years allow Nicola Turi, who had already been following the author’s footsteps for some time, to reconstruct the sources of inspiration, the composition and revision processes, as well as the main stages of the critical reception of a work crossing the best part of the 20th century in Italy with an elegant gait which constantly brings it in on the same level as the great European models: a philosophical background which is always up to date, and the very fine sensitivity of someone who knows how to grasp the imperceptible movements of the human soul and the great changes of history at the same time. This volume is the result of a long archival work and, also by virtue of the bibliography (by and on the author) placed in the appendix, it aims at functioning as a journey through Dessí’s texts and, at the same time, at offering the readers the necessary hermeneutical support to understand his works.

    Beschreibung: The volume contains a selection of some of the most representative works from Rosanna Benacchio’s extensive scientific production. It is divided into three parts, the first one being dedicated to the category of verbal aspect in the Slavic languages. The second part deals with Slavic minority varieties spoken in Italy, in particular the Slovene dialects of Friuli and Molise Slavic. The third part focuses on three linguistic phenomena that are analysed from a diachronic perspective: the referential usage of the personal pronoun Vy in the Petrine era; the use of clitic pronouns in the Slavic languages; the formation of the definite article in the Slovene area based on the evidence of the Resian Catechism of the 18th century.

    Beschreibung: Mare, fiume, ruscello. Acqua e musica nella cultura romantica (Sea, river, stream. Water and music in romantic culture) re-reads German literature between the 18th and 19th centuries, focusing on the figure of water, following the theoretical-methodological lines traced by Gaston Bachelard in his studies on material imagination, especially in his 1942 work L'eau et les rêves. The work investigates the elective affinities between liquid substance, poetic word and music in the romantic period. The rereading highlights the large number of "liquid-aquatic" metaphors in Franz Schubert's lieder works, with particular attention to the cycles Die Schöne Müllerin (1823) and Winterreise (1828). The study is conducted in an interdisciplinary perspective that extends, between literary and musical analysis, to the reading and listening of the Lieder.

    Beschreibung: Serious illness prevents many students from attending school on a regular basis and can lead to long-term absence from the classroom. The consequent isolation impedes socialization and educational exchange between homebound students and their schoolmates, as well as interaction with their teachers. Moreover, these students face serious difficulties when they eventually manage to return to school. All these factors slow down homebound students’ learning progress and weaken their sense of belonging to their peer group. In response to these issues, Italy’s Ministry of Education (MIUR), National Research Council (CNR), and the TIM Foundation set up a project in 2013 named TRIS (Networked Technologies and Socio-educational Inclusion). The main aim of the project is to develop a flexible and scalable intervention model for integrating homebound leaners. This is based on active and engaging learning approaches and is designed for application to a wide variety of long–term absence situations. The main pillar of the project is the so-called “Inclusive Hybrid Classroom”, a special blending of physical and digital learning spaces. By facilitating direct engagement in class activities, irrespective of the students’ actual location, this kind of classroom heightens the sense for everyone that the homebound student is actively present in the classroom.

    Beschreibung: This book is dedicated to the poetics in the Italian language that have spread around Italy over the last thirty years, also as a consequence of the migratory waves from the South-East to the North-West of the world. After years of research, the authors have selected a sample of twelve poets, who for different reasons have adopted Italian as the language of their literary expression. These authors come from the Balkans (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania), from Eastern Europe (Romania, Poland), from central-northern Europe (Austria, Germany), but also from Latin American countries (Brazil, Argentina , Chile), the Middle East (Iran and Iraq), and the Africa (Senegal). This volume features a long critical introduction and an updated bibliography, and studies the issue of migration from a cultural, literary and linguistic perspective, further investigating the work of individual poets in relation to their culture of origin and their use of the language (or languages), touching current and complex notions and issues such as otherness, interculturality, evolution of identity, migration and relationship between the multicultural and multilingual writing and the contemporary Italian poetic tradition and its canon. The unpublished interviews concluding the volume were made at the authors’ places of residence and reconstruct their biographical and artistic path and their idea of language, translation, literature, home country and nationality.

    Beschreibung: The volume presents the edition of a copy of an anonymous Russian manuscript spelling book probably written by the famous scholar Yevfimiy Cudovsky, or by personalities close to him from the Muscovite background of the Philhellenes, in the 1680s. This spelling book represents a significant evidence of the level reached, on the eve of the great reforms introduced by Peter, by the Russian didactic literature intended for elementary education, heir to the tradition established by Ivan Fyodorov with the manual printed in Lviv in 1574. The edition is accompanied by a preface and a commentary that locates the spelling book in the Russian historical-cultural and literary context of the second half of the 17th century, particularly in relation to other books of this kind and grammar manuals circulating at the time.

    Beschreibung: In a complex, global, multicultural and post-modern society such as the contemporary one, the concepts of "democracy", citizenship "and" training” are undergoing a more urgent and necessary rethinking, which is tracing more and more constant new variations, contaminations and interconnections. On the one hand citizenship has become today active and participatory, as today it can be exercised. On the other hand, volunteering can be a response to the need for participation claimed by contemporary societies: the donation of blood, a particular declination of the traditional concept of gift, is seen as an opportunity to participate in community life and to exercise active and responsible citizenship. From this point of view, the subject is the main actor and protagonist of contemporary processes, and must be trained in understanding the complexity of the notion of citizenship.

    Beschreibung: The 43rd UID conference, held in Genova, takes up the theme of ‘Dialogues’ as practice and debate on many fundamental topics in our social life, especially in these complex and not yet resolved times. The city of Genova offers the opportunity to ponder on the value of comparison and on the possibilities for the community, naturally focused on the aspects that concern us, as professors, researchers, disseminators of knowledge, or on all the possibile meanings of the discipline of representation and its dialogue with ‘others’, which we have broadly catalogued in three macro areas: History, Semiotics, Science / Technology. Therefore, “dialogue” as a profitable exchange based on a common language, without which it is impossible to comprehend and understand one another; and the graphic sign that connotes the conference is the precise transcription of this concept: the title ‘translated’ into signs, derived from the visual alphabet designed for the visual identity of the UID since 2017. There are many topics which refer to three macro sessions: - Witnessing (signs and history) - Communicating (signs and semiotics) - Experimenting (signs and sciences) Thanks to the different points of view, an exceptional resource of our disciplinary area, we want to try to outline the prevailing theoretical-operational synergies, the collaborative lines of an instrumental nature, the recent updates of the repertoires of images that attest and nourish the relations among representation, history, semiotics, sciences.

    Beschreibung: In un frammento pubblicato il 10 dicembre 1810 nei suoi «Berliner Abendblätter», Heinrich von Kleist sosteneva che “gli uomini si potrebbero dividere in due categorie: quelli che si intendono di metafore e quelli che si intendono di formule”. A due secoli di distanza, questo volume prende a prestito la coppia kleistiana “formula e metafora” per indagare le sorti dello scienziato come personaggio nelle letterature e culture di una contemporaneità intesa nel senso più ampio possibile. Lo scienziato – benefattore o criminale, saggio o irresponsabile, opportunista o pazzo, freddo calcolatore o debole strumento del potere, personaggio comico o tragico, drammatico o grottesco – è uno dei protagonisti della cultura contemporanea. Che si tratti di personalità storiche o di figure d’invenzione, alimentate da prototipi letterari e da stereotipi di varia matrice, uomini di scienza popolano le più varie opere di finzione da fine Ottocento a oggi: il volume ne indaga ventisei esempi, spaziando fra letteratura, teatro e cinema nei mondi di lingua francese, inglese, italiana, polacca, russa, spagnola, svedese e tedesca. Le molteplici declinazioni del personaggio-scienziato sono lo specchio più o meno deformato di eventi e problemi che hanno alimentato l’inesausto interrogarsi dell’intellettuale moderno sul rapporto fra scienza, arte e società. Al contempo, esse rivelano nelle loro radici il perdurare di antiche e moderne figurazioni mitologico-letterarie, trasformate da scrittori e artisti per interpretare consapevolmente il passato e il presente.

    Beschreibung: In the period following the Second World War Giulio Preti was one of the leading exponents of Italian philosophy. A master of open critical thought, cultivated in the light of a rationalism that dialogued with, and integrated into his own philosophical model, many of the currents and stances of the global research scenario. Phenomenology, Marxism, pragmatism, neopositivism, transcendentalism and structuralism: in Preti all of these found an organic and original synthesis. Further, his particular brand of rationalist-critical thought touched on many aspects of philosophical knowledge: theoretical philosophy, the philosophy of science, that of language and that of art, from ethics to politics and even taking in the history of philosophy, offering authoritative contributions in every sphere. One hundred years after his birth, the University of Florence and the heir to the Faculty in which he lectured at length, the Faculty of Education, has decided to honour his memory with this anthology of studies, penned by former pupils and others and also by younger scholars, to once again focus the wealth of this thought and its, in many respects, current relevance. Even now, this particular brand of open, critical rationalism can offer a benchmark for addressing the new issues for philosophical reflection thrown up by modern society and culture.

    Beschreibung: The purpose of this book is to explore the transformations in the functioning of power in the countryside of the kingdom of Italy over the fifty years at the turn of the 1100s, and more particularly the process of affirmation and crystallization of the rural lordship. The investigation develops through the reconstruction not only of the structures of power over men and space, and of the related social morphologies, but also of the political communication system at the local level. The outbreak of the civil wars connected with the “struggle for the Investitures", after 1080, translates into a clear reconfiguration of the socio-political matrix, transforming both the practices of local power, and the instruments of political communication and the related documentation. The Italian case offers in this sense a new perspective on the great and still open historiographic problem, of the "feudal revolution" in the European context.

    Beschreibung: In this book Saggi sulla teoria della letteratura (“Essays on the Theory of Literature”) Enza Biagini puts in play her rich theoretical background and a vast knowledge of texts and authors to deal with some fundamental problems concerning literature, its status, its metamorphoses and its being necessary. Following modern paths, she leads the readers on the traces of different genres and situations difficult to define (the essay-writing, the unfinished ...), of 'temporary' themes always on the point of becoming something else (the nocturnal, the relationship between text and image. ..). The works revolve around the exergues and the definitions of the dictionaries: a whole world of suggestions and reasoning that the author finely brings not only to the field of theory, but also to the world of the Italian and French narrative.
