    Description: A coordinated control method for doubly fed wind power generation system under unbalanced grid voltage is presented in this paper, which can remove the negative effects of unbalanced voltage on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) such as the unbalance of stator and rotor current. And the method can suppress the double frequency oscillations of the output active and reactive power. To improve the operating performance, the operation mechanism of DFIG system with a series grid side converter (SGSC) under unbalanced grid voltage is described firstly, and the strategy for series grid side converter aiming at maintaining the stator three phase voltage balance is proposed, and then the stator and rotor currents will keep balanced. Meanwhile, the mathematical model of the parallel grid side converter (PGSC) is analysed under unbalanced grid voltage and the double frequency power control equation is established.     Description: In this paper, we report two density peaks in argon helicon plasma under an axial magnetic field from 0 G to 250 G with Boswell-type antenna driven by radio frequency (RF) power of 13.56 MHz. The first peak locates at 40–55 G and the second one at 110–165 G, as the RF power is sustainably increased from 100 W to 250 W at Ar pressure of 0.35 Pa. The absorbed power of two peaks shows a linear relationship with the magnetic field. End views of the discharge taken by intensified charge coupled device reveal that, when the first peak appeared, the discharge luminance moves to the edge of the tube as the magnetic field increases. For the second peak, the strong discharge area is centered at the two antenna legs after the magnetic field reaches a threshold value. Comparing with the simulation, we suggest that the efficient power absorption of two peaks at which the efficient power absorption mainly appears in the near-antenna region is due to the mode conversion in bounded non-uniform helicon plasma. The two low-field peaks are caused, to some extent, by the excitation of Trivelpiece-Gould wave through non-resonance conversion.

    Description: Human single-strand (ss) DNA binding proteins 1 (hSSB1) has been shown to participate in DNA damage response and maintenance of genome stability by regulating the initiation of ATM-dependent signaling. ATM phosphorylates hSSB1 and prevents hSSB1 from ubiquitin-proteasome-mediated degradation. However, the E3 ligase that targets hSSB1 for destruction is still unknown. Here, we report that hSSB1 is the bona fide substrate for an Fbxl5-containing SCF (Skp1-Cul1-F box) E3 ligase. Fbxl5 interacts with and targets hSSB1 for ubiquitination and degradation, which could be prevented by ATM-mediated hSSB1 T117 phosphorylation. Furthermore, cells overexpression of Fbxl5 abrogated the cellular response to DSBs, including activation of ATM and phosphorylation of ATM targets and exhibited increased radiosensitivity, chemosensitivity and defective checkpoint activation after genotoxic stress stimuli. Moreover, the protein levels of hSSB1 and Fbxl5 showed an inverse correlation in lung cancer cells lines and clinical lung cancer samples. Therefore, Fbxl5 may negatively modulate hSSB1 to regulate DNA damage response, implicating Fbxl5 as a novel, promising therapeutic target for lung cancers.

    Description: Co 2 Y hexaferrites have attracted intensive interests due to its potential high temperature magnetoelectricity as the single phase multiferroics. Numerous efforts have been paid to enhance their magnetoelectric properties at high temperatures through increasing the magnetic transition temperature and decreasing the conductivity. In this work, we investigated the conductivity and magnetic properties of the polycrystalline Ba 0.5 Sr 1.5 Co 2 (Fe 1− x Al x ) 12 O 22 (0 ≤  x  ≤ 0.12) hexaferrites and found that Al-doping has important effects on both the conductivity and magnetic properties. The underlying physical mechanisms were also systematically analyzed. Most importantly, a very much enhanced resistivity (over 10 MΩ cm), and a high magnetic transition temperature (∼346 K) have been obtained at a doping amount of x  = 0.04. These improvements are very promising for achieving significant magnetoelectric effect at room temperature. The current research can provide the basic understanding of the Y-type ferrites for future applications in magnetoelectric and other fields.

    Description: The gut-derived hormone ghrelin exerts its effect on the brain by regulating neuronal activity. Ghrelin-induced feeding behaviour is controlled by arcuate nucleus neurons that co-express neuropeptide Y and agouti-related protein (NPY/AgRP neurons). However, the intracellular mechanisms triggered by ghrelin to alter NPY/AgRP neuronal activity are poorly understood. Here we show that ghrelin initiates robust changes in hypothalamic mitochondrial respiration in mice that are dependent on uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2). Activation of this mitochondrial mechanism is critical for ghrelin-induced mitochondrial proliferation and electric activation of NPY/AgRP neurons, for ghrelin-triggered synaptic plasticity of pro-opiomelanocortin-expressing neurons, and for ghrelin-induced food intake. The UCP2-dependent action of ghrelin on NPY/AgRP neurons is driven by a hypothalamic fatty acid oxidation pathway involving AMPK, CPT1 and free radicals that are scavenged by UCP2.     Description: The in-situ leaching of ionic rare earth minerals often causes serious nitride pollution in the mining area and surrounding areas. In this paper, the rare earth soil in the Zu Dong mining area of Long Nan, Gan Zhou city, was used as the research object. Through batch equilibrium adsorption tests, the adsorption properties of ammonium nitrogen in different sizes of rare earth soils, the adsorption dynamics and thermodynamics of ammonium nitrogen under different concentrations of ammonium sulfate solution, and the effect of the solution flow rate and concentration in the soil column under dynamic conditions on the adsorption of ammonium on the soil was systematically studied.     Description: The additional modulation function of high voltage direct current (HVDC) links can improve the system stability while the unavoidable random external disturbance and sudden changes seriously affect the controller performance and the system stability. In this paper, an improved control scheme based on inverse optimal adaptive control is proposed for the hybrid AC/DC system which considers the system parameter error, external disturbance and other random perturbation. The proposed control scheme combines the inverse optimal control approach and the adaptive control method to account for the modelling errors and uncertainty, which aims at the disturbance attenuation and the optimal operating of the hybrid AC/DC power system.     Description: In organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), a stack of multiple organic layers facilitates charge flow from the low work function [~4.7 electron volts (eV)] of the transparent electrode (tin-doped indium oxide, ITO) to the deep energy levels (~6 eV) of the active light-emitting organic materials. We demonstrate a chlorinated ITO transparent electrode with a work function of 〉6.1 eV that provides a direct match to the energy levels of the active light-emitting materials in state-of-the art OLEDs.
