Abstract: This book systematically reviews the most important findings on cancer immune checkpoints, sharing essential insights into this rapidly evolving yet largely unexplored research topic. The past decade has seen major advances in cancer immune checkpoint therapy, which has demonstrated impressive clinical benefits. The family of checkpoints for mediating cancer immune evasion now includes CTLA-4, PD-1/PD-L1, CD27/CD70, FGL-1/LAG-3, Siglec-15, VISTA (PD-1L)/VSIG3, CD47/SIRPA, APOE/LILRB4, TIGIT, and many others. Despite these strides, most patients do not show lasting remission, and some cancers have been completely resistant to the therapy. The potentially lethal adverse effects of checkpoint blockade represent another major challenge, the mechanisms of which remain poorly understood. Compared to the cancer signaling pathways, such as p53 and Ras, mechanistic studies on immune checkpoint pathways are still in their infancy. To improve the responses to checkpoint blockade therapy and limit the adverse effects, it is essential to understand the molecular regulation of checkpoint molecules in both malignant and healthy cells/tissues. This book begins with an introduction to immune checkpoint therapy and its challenges, and subsequently describes the regulation of checkpoints at different levels. In closing, it discusses recent therapeutic developments based on mechanistic findings, and outlines goals for future translational studies. The book offers a valuable resource for researchers in the cancer immunotherapy field, helping to form a roadmap for checkpoint regulation and develop safer and more effective immunotherapies.

Notes: In this paper, porous carbon was made from biomass derived carbonaceous mesophaseand carbonaceous fillers, and further applied as the substrate for CVD grow of nano carbonmaterials. With the assistance of microwave plasma, the acetone gas was decomposed into carbonand grew on the surface of the porous carbon, which produce ballas diamonds, carbon tubes, nets, petal, and other structures

Notes: The hot workability of modified 9Cr-1Mo, as a grade of heat resistant steels, is inferior tothat of low-alloy steel, so the inner surface crack (ISC) easily occurs in seamless boiler tubesproduced by the Mandrel Mill under improper rolling conditions. With the aid of FEM, the metal flowstatus during the rolling process was analyzed in 140mm 8-stand mandrel mill of Bao Steel. Both themetallographic shape and size of the ISC together with the result from the simulation show that theISC of seamless tube forms at the elongation stage of shell. The mechanism of the ISC was discussed. With its initiation in stand No.1 and No.2 due to poor hot workability of modified 9Cr-1Mo steel, theISC develops in subsequent passes. Based upon the mechanism devised was a special roll pass systemwhich substantially upgraded the yield of qualified products

Notes: Using Oyane ductile fracture criterion, a 2-D coupled thermo-mechanical simulation ofcenter crack occurrence in round billet during 2-roll rotary rolling process is presented with the aidof FE code MSC.Superform. Based on an existing flat-die-model, an improved FE model isadvanced, in which not only the influence of roll feed angle and entry cone angle but also thediameter of the piercing roll on the process are taken into account. By adopting the parameters ofthe Diescher piercer in 140mm Mandrel Mill of Bao Steel in China, the distribution anddevelopment of strain/stress in tube rounds are analyzed, and the eigenvalue of ductile fracture aswell. The critical percentage of diameter reduction is obtained from the simulation. The resultshows a good agreement with the experimental value, and therefore is of widely guidingsignificance to practical process for rationally formulating deformation parameters of steel tubepiercing

Notes: [Auszug] The hallmark of T-cell activation is the production of interleukin 2 (IL-2). c-Jun amino-terminal kinase (JNK), a MAP kinase that phosphorylates c-Jun and other components of the AP-1 group of transcription factors, has been implicated in the activation of IL-2 expression. Previously, we ...

Notes: The laser-assisted reaction between Kr and F2 was used to generate KrF(B,C) molecules during a 7 ns laser pulse in a stainless steel cell. The first-order decay rates of the collisionally coupled KrF(B) and KrF(C) states in ≥50 Torr of Kr buffer gas were monitored by the KrF(B–X) fluorescence in the presence of added reagents at 300 K. Two-body quenching rate constants for KrF(B,C) by diatomic and polyatomic molecules and the rare gases were determined from the pressure dependence of the first-order decay constants of KrF(B,C). The mixed three-body quenching rate constants (with Kr) for added He, Ne, and Ar were also measured. For Kr pressure above 200 Torr, Kr2F(4 2Γ) molecules were formed via three-body quenching of KrF(B,C), and the quenching rate constants for Kr2F(4 2Γ) by the same set of reagents were determined. The general trends in the quenching constants for KrF(B,C) and Kr2F(4 2Γ) are similar to those for XeCl(B,C) and Xe2Cl(4 2Γ), respectively; however, the rate constants for KrF(B,C) and Kr2F(4 2Γ) are generally larger than for the corresponding xenon chloride molecules. Quenching mechanisms for KrF(B,C) and Kr2F(4 2Γ) are discussed.

Notes: Abstract The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the (Pb0.985Bi0.01)(Ni1/4Zn1/12Nb2/3)x-(ZrσTi1-σ)1-xO3 piezoelectric ceramic system (0.2≤x≤0.7, 0.1≤σ≤0.9) were systematically investigated. The results showed that, after poling, the dielectric constant, εT33, increased for the tetragonal compositions but decreased for the rhombohedral compositions. Furthermore, high values of εT33 and piezoelectric modulus, d31 were found for the compositions along the extension of the morphotropic phase boundary. The highest values of the planar electromechanical coupling factor, Kp, and the piezoelectric modulus, d31, were found to be 0.70 and −274×10-12 C N-1, respectively. The Curie temperature, remanent polarization, coercive field and the lattice constants of the a and c axes in relation to the Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3 content and the Zr/Zr+Ti ratio were also determined.

Notes: The title compound, [Co(C6H13)(C11H19N4O2)(H2O)]ClO4, is in the general class of coenzyme B12 models which contain a ClO4 anion and a [Co(C6H13)(C11H19N4O2)(H2O)]+ cation. In the cation, the Co atom has a distorted octahedral coordination, with the n-hexyl and H2O ligands in axial positions. The crystal data reveal some degree of flexibility in the Costa-type system, which is similar to the coenzyme B12.
