    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Investigation of Dichloromethyl-substituted Amines and FormamidinesN,N,N′-Tris(dichloromethyl)formamidine (8), N-Methyl-, N-Ethyl-, N-Phenyl-bis(dichloromethyl)-amine (10a, b, c) and tris(dichloromethyl)amine (9) were prepared by chlorination of the polyformylated amines 2, 3, and 4 with phosphorus pentachloride. The compounds were proven to be molecules with covalent carbon-chlorine-bonds. By reaction with antimony(V) chloride or aluminium chloride a chloride ion could be split off from a dichloromethyl group. 8 could be protonated by hydrogen chloride in the presence of antimony(V) chloride. The vibrational spectrum of 9 was assigned. The reaction of N-methyldiformamide (3a) with thionyl chloride led to the already well-known N-dichloromethyl-N,N′-dimethylformamidinium chloride (11).
    Notes: N,N,N′-Tris(dischlormethyl)formamidin (8), N-Methyl-, N-Ethyl-, N-Phenyl-bis(dichlormethyl)-amin (10a, b, c) und Tris(dichlormethyl)amin (9) wurden durch Chlorierung der mehrfach formylierten Amine 2, 3 und 4 mit Phosphorpentachlorid erhalten. Die Verbindungen erwiesen sich als Moleküle mit Kovalenten Kohlenstoff-Chlor-Bindungen. Durch Reaktion mit Antimon(V)-chlorid oder Aluminium(III)-chlorid wurde ein Chlorid-Ion von einer Dichlormethylgruppe abgespalten. 8 ließ sich durch Chlorwasserstoff in Gegenwart von Antimon (V)-chlorid protonieren. Das Schwingungsspektrum von 9 wurde zugeordnet. Die Umsetzung von N-Methyldiformamid (3a) mit Thionylchlorid führt zu dem bereits bekannten N-Dichlormethyl-N,N′-dimethylformamidium-chlorid (11).

    Notes: Preparation of N-Alkyliminobis(thiocarbaldehydes)N-Methyl- (2a) and N-ethyliminobis(thiocarbaldehyde) (2b), and their hydrochlorides 4, were prepared by reaction of the corresponding N-alkylbis(dichloromethyl)amines 3 with hydrogen sulfide. Their properties and spectroscopic data are reported. Compound 2a reacts with antimony(V) chloride to give a 1:1 adduct.
