Notes:
A process for depositing a uniform, smooth and coherent film of conductive polypyrrole onto and into commercially available polytetrafluorethene (PTFE) tape is described. Adhesion is promoted by using Nafion (a perfluorosulfonate ionomer marketed by Du Pont) to create an interface between the polytetrafluoroethene and the polypyrrole. The composite shows low surface resistivity. Furthermore, the Teflon substrate can be oriented, and growth of polypyrrole on this oriented surface yields an oriented conductive polymer film.
