    Description / Table of Contents: Contents This paper presents a semi-analytical method for the calculation of the electromagnetic field due to a three-dimensional incident field which is screened by an infinitely long circular cylindrical conducting and permeable shell. The resulting threedimensional Helmholtz equations are solved by using the method of the separation of variables together with the Fourier Transform applied to the longitudinal field components. The transformed transversal components are represented in terms of the transformed longitudinal components. With the aid of the DFT (discrete Fourier Transform) the three-dimensional incident field can be expanded into a Fourier series and then be transformed. Finally the inverse DFT yields the solution of the boundary value problem. Calculations using the proposed method are presented.
    Notes: Übersicht Ein semianalytisches Rechenverfahren wird vorgestellt, welches es gestattet, das elektromagnetische Feld eines durch eine unendlich lange, kreiszylindrische, leitfähige und permeable Hülle geschirmten, dreidimensionalen Erregerfeldes zu berechnen. Die dabei auftretenden dreidimensionalen Helmholtz-Gleichungen werden unter Verwendung der longitudinalen Feldkomponenten mit Hilfe der Methode der Separation der Variablen und der Fourier-Transformation gelöst. Die transformierten transversalen Komponenten werden in Abhängigkeit der transformierten longitudinalen Komponenten dargestellt. Unter Zuhilfenahme der DFT (diskrete Fourier-Transformation) wird das dreidimensionale Erregerfeld erst in eine Fourierreihe entwickelt und dann ebenfalls transformiert. Eine abschließende inverse DFT liefert die Lösung des Randwertproblems. Unter Anwendung des vorgeschlagenen Verfahrens werden Rechenergebnisse präsentiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Contents This work presents a semi-analytical method for calculating the eddy currents due to a three-dimensional incident field which is caused by a line current situated in the cavity of a finitely long circular cylindrical conducting and permeable shell. The components of the incident field are expanded into Fourier series in the azimuthal and the axial directions. The Fourier coefficients of the transversal field components are expressed in terms of the Fourier coefficients of the longitudinal field components, because only the longitudinal field components allow using the method of separation of variables for solving the occurring Helmholtz equations.
    Notes: Übersicht In der vorliegenden Abhandlung wird ein semianalytisches Verfahren zur Berechnung der dreidimensionalen Wirbelströmung in einer leitfähigen und permeablen kreiszylindrischen Hülle bei Vorhandensein eines dreidimensionalen Erregerfeldes beschrieben, das durch einen innerhalb des Zylinderhohlraumes fließenden Linienstrom hervorgerufen wird. Die Komponenten des Erregerfeldes werden in azimutaler und axialer Richtung in eine Fourier-Reihe entwickelt. Die Fourier-Koeffizienten der (bezüglich der Zylinderachse) transversalen Feldkomponenten werden in Abhängigkeit von den Fourier-Koeffizienten der longitudinalen Feldkomponenten dargestellt, da nur die longitudinalen Feldkomponenten eine Separation der Variablen in den auftretenden Helmholtz-Gleichungen zulassen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Das Racemat der Trögerschen Base läßt sich durch Flüssig-Chromatographie in der Säule oder auf Dünnschichtplatten an Cellulose-tri-acetat leicht und vollständing die die Enantiomeren trennen. Die Cellulose darf jedoch bei der Acetylierung nicht in Lössung gehen. Durch Umfällen aus organischen Lösungmitteln verliert das Tri-Acetat sein Adsorptionsvermögen weitgehend und dis Stereoselektivität der Restadsorption kann umgekehrt sein. Daraus wird geschlossen, daß die Sorption nicht durch Auflagen auf eine Glucoseestereinheit erfolgt, sondern eher durch Einklemmen zwischen zwei solchen Einheiten, die in der Sekundärstruktur eine geeignete Lage einnehmen.
    Notes: Summary Racemic Tröger's Base is conveniently and comopletely separated into its enantiomers by liquid chromatography on cellulose tricetate using either columns or TLC-plates. Dissolving the cellulose for acetylationor purification has to be avoided since the material loses its adsorptive powers by such treatment and the residual adsorptive properties may even shown reversed stereoselectivity. This leads to the conclusion that sorption is not achieved by Tröger's Base simple adhering to one glucose ester moiety, but by insertion between two such moieties which are at appropriate positions in the secondary structure of the natural polymer.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Cellulose läßt sich in der Weise acetylieren, daß die Konformation und die gegenseitige Anordnung der Kohlehydratbänder in ihren kristallinen Bereichen erhalten bleibt. In gequollenem Zustand includiert diese mikrokristalline Acetylcellulose organische Moleküle der verschiedensten Art stoffspezifisch und es lassen sich daran chromatographische Trennungen durchführen. Chirale Verbindungen werden dabei teilweise, in einigen Fällen vollständig in die Antipoden gespalten. Diese Fähigkeiten verschwinden weitgehend, wenn das Material aus organischen Lösungen umgefällt wird. Eine besonders hohe Affinität zu der mikrokristallinen Acetylcellulose hat der Benzolkern, wenn mindestens 3 benachbarte Stellen nicht substituiert sind. Die Haftfestigkeit wird viel stärker durch sterische Faktoren als durch die chemische Natur der Substituenten beeinflußt. Insbesondere lassen sich o-Disubstitutionsprodukte des Benzols präparativ von den m- und p-Isomeren trennen. Da die neue Methode besonders gut auf Kohlenwasserstoffe und andere unpolare Moleküle anspricht, ergänzt sie die Gas-Chromatographie bei der Trennung und Reinigung labiler Verbindungen.
    Notes: Summary Cellulose can be acetylated so that the conformation and the mutual arrangement of the carbohydrate chains within their crystalline regions is maintained. This microcrystalline acetyl cellulose in its swollen state is capable of specifically occluding a wide range of different molecules, and it can be used for chromatographic separations. Chiral compounds are partially, and in some cases completely, resolved into their antipodes. This ability, however, vanishes almost completely if the material is re-precipitated from organic solvents. The benzene ring shows a particularly high affinity for the microcrystalline acetyl cellulose when at least 3 adjacent positions are unsubstituted. The strength of sorption is more strongly influenced by steric factors than it is by the chemical nature of the substituents. Hence, the o-disubstituted benzene derivatives in particular can be separated on a preparative scale from the m- and p-isomers. Since the new method works best with hydrocarbons and other nonpolar molecules, it may be useful as a complementary technique to gas chromatography for the separation and purification of unstable compounds.

    Notes: Upon looking for energetic, heat-resistant nitropolymers we selected aromatic compounds containing nitro groups, the synthesis of which is based on the Ullmann reaction. Using dichlorotrinitrobenzene as the basic substance, we prepared polynitropolyphenylene in nitrobenzene by co-using copper powder. These consist of nitrated benzene chains of different lengths. Depending on production and processing, polymers with a variety of characteristics are prepared. Their characteristics are described herein. They are distinguished by thermal stability, low crystallization and energetic behaviour. Combined with inert binding agents and perhaps softeners, they may be used as high-temperature resistant explosive binding agents.
