    Description / Table of Contents: Riassunto Lo scattering Raman rotazionale stimolato della radiazione laser a CO2 in orto-deuterio fornisce una sorgente coerente di alta potenza nella regione dell'infrarosso tra 11 e 14 μm. Con un'energia di pompa dell'ordine di 4 J si ottiene un'energia di 1 J. Le energie di soglia sono state confrontate con quelle del para-idrogeno, misurate nello stesso apparato, e i fattori di scala sperimentali sono discussi.
    Abstract: Резюме Вынужденное вращательное Рамановское рассеяние излучения CO2 лазера в орто-D2 представляет когерентный источник высокой интенсивности в инфракрасной области от 11 до 14 мкм. Получается максимум энергии на выходе ≃1 Дж для энергии накачки 4.0 Дж. Пороговые энергии сравниваются с данными, измеренными той же аппаратурой, в случае пара-H2. Обсуждаются экспериментальные масштабные факторы.
    Notes: Summary Stimulated rotational Raman scattering of CO2 laser radiation in ortho-D2 provides a high-power coherent source in the infrared region from 11 to 14 μm. A peak output energy of ≃1 J has been obtained for a pump energy of 4.0 J. Threshold energies have been compared with those of para-H2 measured in the same apparatus and experiment scaling factors are discussed.

    Description / Table of Contents: Riassunto In questo lavoro si descrive un esperimento progettato per l'uso contemporaneo di due radiazioni di differenti frequenze nella regione di 16 μm, che si basa su un processo di mescolamento a quattro onde in una cella Raman a para-idrogeno. I principali parametri che influenzano l'efficienza di conversione delle due radiazioni di pompa (laser a CO2) sono studiati e ottimizzati per ottenere un'apprezzabile affidabilità del sistema.
    Abstract: Резюме В этой работе описывается эксперимент, предложенный для одновременного действия излучений двух различных частот в области 16 мкм, в соответствии с процедурой смешивания четырех волн в пара-H2 рамановской ячейке. Исследуются основные параметры, которые определяют эффективность конверсии двух частот первичной накачки CO2 лазера. Проводится оптимизация системы.
    Notes: Summary In this work an experiment, projected for a simultaneous operation of two different-frequency radiations in the 16 μ range, is described according to a four-wave mixing process in a para-H2 Raman cell. The main parameters which influence the conversion efficiency of the two primary CO2 pump radiations are investigated and optimized to get an appreciable reliability of the system.

    Description / Table of Contents: Riassunto In questo lavoro sono stati studiati i principali parametri che definiscono la soglia, la forma temporale e la stabilità di un laser Raman a para-idrogeno (16 μm). I nostri risultati mostrano un'alta efficienza di conversione di potenza (130%) per ciascuna riga del laser a CO2 permettendo una buona tunabilità nel range dei 16 μm. Questo è fondamentale per la separazione isotopica di UF6.
    Abstract: Резюме В этой работе исследуются основные параметры, которые определяют порог, временную форму и стабильностьp-H2 рамановского лазера. Наши результаты показывают очень высокую эффективность конверсии (130%). Для каждой линии CO2 накачки мы можем сопоставить соответствующую линию (импульс≥1 Дж/50 нс) в диапазоне 16 мкм. Это является основой для разделения изотопов UF6.
    Notes: Summary In this work the main parameters which define the threshold, the temporal shape and the stability ofp-H2 Raman laser have been investigated. Our results show a very high-power conversion efficiency (130%) and for each pump CO2 line we can dispose of a correspondent line (pulse≥1J/50 ns) in the 16 μm range. This is foundamental as far as UF6 isotopic separation is concerned.

    Notes: Summary In this paper the realization is described of CO2 laser with high energy (≈10J/pulse), long pulses (≈2μs) and narrow bandwidth (≈200 kHz), using suitable discharge device (Lumonics 602) and cavity configuration (modified self-filtering unstable resonator). The theoretical considerations which led to these choices are also discussed and the results obtained are shown.

    Notes: Summary Large helium-free emissions are obtained in two mini-TEA CO2 lasers, by using always a corona preionization without additives and with a maximum energy density of 900J/l in the discharge. In general, helium-free emissions are more stable, but the best condition in efficiency, energy and peak power is observed always with a small He content added to the laser mixture.

    Description / Table of Contents: Riassunto In questo lavoro si studia il processo che determina l'emissione spontanea nell'ammoniaca, pompata da un laser a CO2. Noi sperimentalmente dimostriamo che l'emisione FIR è dominante, mentre l'emissione MIR è condizionata da questo effetto. Si è inoltre osservato che hanno notevole influenza sul processo laser sia il modo di emissione del laser di pompa a CO2 sia le collisioni con un gas tampone. Sono state inoltre prodotte ed assegnate alcune nuove frequenze.
    Abstract: Резюме Исследуются процессы, которые оперделяют спонтанное излучение в аммиаке, накаченном с помощью CO2 лазера. Показывается, что излучение FIR доминирует, а излучение MIR обусловлено этим эффектом. Наблюдается сильное влияние моды излучения лазера, накаченного CO2, и соударений с буферным газом на лазерный процесс. Наблюдались и идентифицированы некоторые новые частоты.
    Notes: Summary The processes which determine the spontaneous emission in ammonia gas pumped by a CO2 laser are investigated. We demonstrate that the FIR emission is dominant and the MIR emission is conditioned by this effect. We have also observed that the CO2 emission mode and the collisions with a buffer gas have a great influence on the laser process. Some new lines have been produced and assigned.

    Description / Table of Contents: Riassunto In questo lavoro si analizza l'influenza della geometria del fascio laser a CO2 quando è adoperato come pompa di un superradiante FIR Raman laser di NH3 con generazione di emissione MIR mediante un processo risonante di mescolamento a quattro onde. Abbiamo osservato che, in generale, la radiazione MIR è emessa in una configurazione stimolata cosicchè la sovrapposizione con il fascio di pompa risulta determinante per un efficiente processo di mescolamento a quattro onde. In particolare, un forte focheggiamento, anche in presenza di self-focusing, tende ad abbassare la soglia dell'emissione Raman FIR come aspettato, ma si ha contemporaneamente una cospicua riduzione del processo risonante di mescolamento a quattro onde e quindi dell'emissione MIR.
    Abstract: Резюме Анализируется влияние геометрии накачки в NH3 суперизлучающем комбинационном FIR лазере в случае генерации MIR излучения при нелинейном резонансном четырех-волновом смешивании. Мы наблюдали, что MIR излучение обычно опускается в стимулированной конфигурации, так что перекрытие пучка накачки и MIR пучка является важным для обнаружения нелинейного резонансного четырех-волнового смешивания. В частности, сильная фокусировка, в присутствии само-фокусировки, обнаруживает понижении порога комбинационного FIR излучения, а также плюс уменьшение MIR излучения при нелинеином резонансном четырех-волновом смешивании.
    Notes: Summary The influence of pump beam geometry in a NH3 superradiant Raman FIR laser with RFWM generation of MIR emission has been analysed. We have observed that, in general, MIR radiation is emitted in a stimulated configuration, so pump and MIR beam overlap is basically important to exhibit an efficient RFWM. In particular, strong focusing, also in the presence of self-focusing, shows a lowering of the threshold of Raman FIR emission, as expected, plus a reduction of RFWM MIR emission.
