    Description / Table of Contents: Methyl-, Ethyl-, n-Propyl-, n-, i- und t-Butyl-, n-Hexyl-, 2-Ethylhexyl- und Laurylacrylat wurden in Benzol polymerisiert. Verdünnte Lösungen in THF einzelner Fraktionen dieser Polymeren wurden durch Lichtstreuungs- und Viskositätsmessungen untersucht. Polyacrylsäure wurde in Dioxan gemessen.Für die verschiedenen Polyacrylester und Polyacrylsäure wird die Molekulargewichtsabhängigkeit des Staudinger-Index [η] und des Trägheitsradius 〈r2w〉 angegeben.
    Notes: Dilute THF-solutions of different fractions of polymers of methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, n-, i- and t-butyl, n-hexyl, 2-ethylhexyl, and lauryl acrylate, prepared by solution polymerization in benzene, were studied by light scattering and viscosity methods. Poly(acrylic acid) was examined in dioxane. For the different polyacrylic esters the [η]-Mw-relations were established and the dependence of the radius of gyration 〈r2w〉 on the molecular weight was determined.

    Description / Table of Contents: Aus Lichtstreuungs-und Viskositätsmessungen werden nach bekannten Theorien aus der Abhängigkeit des Staudinger-Index und des Trägheitsradius vom Molekulargewicht ungestörte Dimensionen berechnet. Das statistische Fadenelement nach Kuhn Am ist ein gutes Maß zur Beschreibung der Flexibilitäteiner ungestörten Polymerkette. Es wurde für neun Polyacrylate und Polyacrylsäure berechnet. Polyacrylsäure mit Am = 13,6 Å besitzt die höchste Flexibilität. Mit steigender C-Anzahl im Alkoholrest nimmt die Flexibilität der Polymerkette ab. Verzweigungen im Alkoholrest bewirken eine weitere Versteifung der Polymerkette.
    Notes: According to existing well-known theories unperturbed dimensions can be calculated from light scattering and viscosity measurements. The statistical segment Am proposed by Kuhn is a good measure for the flexibility of an unperturbed polymer coil. With the data reported in part I of the dependence of the radius of gyration and the Staudinger index, respectively, on the molecular weight, Am was calculated for nine polyacrylic esters and poly(acrylic acid). Poly(acrylic acid) with Am = 13,6 Å has the highest flexibility. The stiffness of the polymer chain is increased with growing C-number of the alcohol. Branching in the alcohol further increases the stiffness of the polymer chain.

    Description / Table of Contents: Chelation-Controlled Grignard Reactions of α-(1H-1,2,4-Triazol-1-yl) KetonesThe high diastereoselectivity of the Grignard addition to α-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl) ketones (1, 4), α-alkoxy-α-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl) ketones (7, 13) and corresponding imidazolyl derivatives can be rationalized via postulated intermediate chelate complexes 3, 9. In this case, alkoxy groups as well as azole substituents may function as ligands. For 2d and 8d an X-ray structural analysis was performed.
    Notes: Die hohe Diastereoselektivität der Umsetzung von α-(1H-1,2,4-Triazol-1-yl)ketonen (1, 4), α-Alkoxy-α-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)ketonen (7, 13) und entsprechender Imidazolderivate (10) mit Grignard-Reagenzien wird auf die intermediäre Ausbildung von postulierten Chelatkomplexen 3, 9 zurückgeführt. Dabei können sowohl die Alkoxygruppe als auch der Azolsubstituent als Ligand fungieren. Von 2d und 8d wurde eine Röntgenstrukturanalyse ausgeführt.

    Notes: Napthole setzen sich wie Phenole mit Kalium-nitrosodisulfonat zu Chinonen um. Aus Naphthol-(1) entsteht Naphthochinon-(1.4), aus Naphthol-(2) entsprechend Naphthochinon-(1.2). Dioxynaphthaline bilden Oxynaphthochinone. Sowohl 1.5 als auch 1.8-Dioxynaphthalin gehen in Juglon über. 1.5-Dioxy-naphthalin liefert außerdem das isomere 5-Oxy-naphthochinon-(1.2); ausnahmsweise werden hier p- und o-Chinon nebeneinander gebildet. 2.6-Dioxy-naphthalin wird nicht zu amphi-Naphthochinon dehydriert, sondern zu 6-Oxynaphthochinon-(1.2) oxydiert. 2-Oxy-anthracen verhält sich wie Naphthol-(2); 8-Oxy-chinolin geht in Chinolinchinon überDer Beweis für die o-Chinon-Struktur wird jeweils durch die Umsetzung mit o-Phenylendiamin zum entsprechenden Phenazin und in geeigneten Fällen durch das Absorptionsspektrum erbracht.

    Notes: Geeignete Derivate des α- und β-Naphthols reagieren mit 2 Moll. Kalium-nitrosodisulfonat unter Ersatz eines Wasserstoffs durch den Rest ON(SO3K)2. Man erhält Chinitrole, in denen ein Sauerstoff der Nitrogruppe durch zwei Sulfonsäure-Reste ersetzt ist. Als Nebenprodukt können die entsprechenden Chinone entstehen.Die aus l-Alkyl-naphtholen-(2) analog wie mit Salpetriger Säure gebildeten Chinitrole tauschen bei der Reaktion mit Nitrophenylhydrazin den an Kohlenstoff gebundenen Rest ON(SO3K)2 gegen eine OH-Gruppe aus und liefern so die Hydrazone der entsprechenden Chinole. Von Mineralsäuren werden die Substitutionsprodukte der l-Alkylnapthole in Ausgangs-Naphthol, 2 Moll. Hydrogensulfat und Nitroxyl zerlegt, das als Distickstoffmonoxyd isoliert wurde.Die UV- und IR-Spektren der einschlägigen Verbindungen sowie Fragen des Reaktionsverlaufs werden erörtert.
