    Description / Table of Contents: Organometallic Lewis Bases, XIII. Single-bridged Dinuclear Complexes of the Type (CO)5Cr-As(CH3)2-M′Metathetical reaction between (CO)5Cr. As(CH3)2Cl and NaM′ [M′ = Mo(CO)3C5H5, W(CO)3C5H5, Mn(CO)5, Re(CO)5, Fe(CO)2C5H5 and Co(CO)4] leads to the dinuclear complexes (CO)5Cr-As(CH3)2-M′ (2-7) with a single arsenic bridge. They are stable towards air and moisture. Attempts to convert them into clusters thermally or photochemically result in their disproportionation with formation of homonuclear complexes.
    Notes: Durch doppelte Umsetzung zwischen (CO)5Cr AS(CH3)2Cl und NaM′ [M′ - Mo(CO)3C5H5, W(CO)3C5H5, Mn(CO)5, Re(CO)5, Fe(CO)2C5H5 und Co(CO)4] entstehen die Zweikernkomplexe (CO)5Cr-As(CH3)2- M′ (2-7) mit einfacher Arsin-Brücke. Sie sind luft- und feuchtigkeitsstabil. Beim Versuch, sie thermisch oder photochemisch in Cluster umzuwandeln, disproportionieren sie unter Bildung homonuclearer Komplexe.

Singly Arsenic Bridged Dinuclear Iron Carbonyl ComplexesTreatment of Fe2(CO)9 with (CH3)2As=N(CH3)2 afforded (CO)4Fe·As(CH3)2 =N(CH3)2 (1), which reacted with HCI to yield (CO)4Fe·As(CH3)2Cl (2) Reaction of 2 with carbonyl metalates NaM′ resulted in the formation of the arsenic-bridged dinuclear complexes (CO)4Fe -As(CH3)2-M′ (4-8) with M′ -Mo(CO)3C5H5, W(CO)3C5H5, Mn(CO)5, Fe(CO)2C5H5, and Co(CO)4 as intensely coloured crystalline compounds.
    Notes: Aus Fe2(CO)9 und (CH3)2As=N(CH3)2 wurde (CO)4Fe. As(CH3)2=N(CH3)2 (1) gewonnen, dessen Umsetzung mit HCl zu (CO)4Fe As(CH3)2Cl (2) führte. Reaktion von 2 mit Carbonylmetallaten NaM′ ergab die arsenverbrückten Zweikernkomplexe (CO)4Fe-As(CH3)2 -M′ (4-8) mit M′ = Mo(CO)3C5H5, W(CO)3C5H5, Mn(CO)5, Fe(CO)2,C5H5 und Co(CO)4 als kräftig farbige kristalline Verbindungen.

Photochemical Synthesis of Hetero-Metal-Metal Bonds in Carbonyl Iron ComplexesPhotolysis of the complexe (CO)4Fe-As(CH3)2-M′ [M′ = Mo(CO)3C5H5, W(CO)3C5H5, Mn(CO)5, Co(CO)4,] in solution yielded the hetero-dinuclear complexes with metal-metal bonds (CO)4Fe[μ.-As(CH3)2]M″ [M″ - Mo(CO)2C5H5, W(CO)2C5H5, Mn(CO)4, Co(CO)3] (2a-d). They are orange to red-brown, stable towards air, and very volatile.
    Notes: Photolyse der Komplexe (CO)4Fe-As(CH3)2-M′ [M′ = Mo(CO)3C5H5, W(CO)3C5H5, Mn(CO)5, Co(CO)4] in Lösung ergab die Hetero-Zweikernkomplexe mit Metall-Metall-Bindung (CO)4Fe[μ-As(CH3)2]M″ [M″ = Mo(CO)2C5H5, W(CO)2C5H, Mn(CO)4, Co(CO)3] (2a-d). Sie sind orange bis rotbraun, luftstabil und sehr flüchtig.

Organoelement Mercaptides as Ligands in Pentacarbonylchromium(0) ComplexesThe compounds (CO)5Cr·S(R)—Sn(CH3)3 were prepared by photochemical reaction between Cr(CO)6 and the ligands. Their reaction with organo-element substrates RnE—Y (Y = alkyl or halogen) yields the complexes (CO)5Cr·S(R)—ERn with E = Li, Mg, B, C, P, As, S. New transition metal sulfur complexes arc obtained by interaction of (CO)5Cr·S(R) -Sn(CH3)3 with organometallic halides of gold, iron, manganese, and rhenium. Chemical and spectroscopic investigations show that for E = P or As the Cr(CO)5 moiety binds to these elements and not to sulfur.
    Notes: Die Verbindungen (CO)5Cr·S(R)—Sn(CH3)3 (1, 2) lassen sich photochemisch aus Cr(CO)6 und dem Liganden bereiten. Ihre Umsetzung mit elementorganischen Substraten RnE—Y (Y = Alkyl oder Halogen) überführt sie in Komplexe (CO)5Cr·S(R)—ERn (3-9) mit E = Li, Mg, B, C, P, As, S; mit organometallischen Halogeniden des Goldes, Eisens, Mangans und Rheniums erhält man neue Übergangsmetall-Schwefel-Komplexe (10-15). Chemische und spektroskopische Studien zeigen, daß für E = P oder As die Cr(CO)5-Gruppe an diese Elemente und nicht an den Schwefel gebunden ist.

Re) were obtained by reaction between the photochemically prepared complexes (CO)5M·E(CH3)2Cl (1, 2) and the carbonylmetalates NaM′(CO)5. They are yellow to red, crystalline, and air stable. Their thermal and photochemical decomposition leads to disproportionation into M(CO)6 and [M′(CO)4E(CH3)2]2.
    Notes: Die Verbindungen (CO)5M - E(CH3)2 - M′(CO)5 (3-6) (M = Cr, Mo, W; E = P, As; M′ = Mn, Re) entstehen durch Umsetzung der photochemisch bereiteten Komplexe (CO)5M· E(CH3)2Cl (1, 2) mit den Carbonylmetallaten NaM′(CO)5. Sulfur Bridged Dinuclear ComplexesThe dinuclear metal carbonyl complexes with a single methylthio bridge M-SCH3-M′ [M = C5H5(CO)2Fe, C5H5(CO)3Mo, C5H5(CO)3W, (C6H5)3P ⋅ Au; M′ = Cr(CO)5, W(CO)5, Mn(CO)2C5H5] can be prepared a) from the free organometallic Lewis bases M-SCH3 and the metal carbonyl M′, b) from the methylthiostannane derivatives (CH3)3Sn-SCH3-M′ and the halides M-Cl. They are deeply coloured, crystalline, and mostly air stable. The use of other groups M and M′ does not yield complexes of this type, but leads to disproportionation and formation of homodinuclear sulfur bridged complexes. Attempted pyrolysis of the complexes M-SCH3-M′ in order to obtain higher aggregated species so far gave no identifiable products except for simpler complexes.
    Notes: Die Metall-Carbonyl-Zweikernkomplexe mit einfacher Mercapto-Brücke M-SCH3-M′ [M = C5H5(CO)2Fe, C5H5(CO)3Mo, C5H5(CO)3W, (C6H5)3P ⋅ Au; M′ = Cr(CO)5, W(CO)5, Mn(CO)2C5H5] können a) aus der freien metallorganischen Lewis-Basen M-SCH3 und dem Metallcarbonyl M′, b) aus den Mercaptostannan-Derivaten (CH3)3Sn-SCH3-M′ und den Halogeniden M-Cl gewonnen werden. Sie sind tief farbig, kristallin und weitgehend luftstabil. Einsatz anderer Gruppen M und M′ führt nicht zu Komplexen dieses Typs, sondern unter Disproportionierung zu homonuclearen schwefelverbrückten Zweikernkomplexen. Versuche, durch Pyrolyse der Komplexe M-SCH3-M′ zu höher aggregierten Spezies zu gelangen, ergaben außer einfachen Komplexen bis jetzt keine identifizierbaren Produkte.
