On the Formation of Benzocycloalkenynes from Polycyclic 1,2,3-SelenadiazolesThe semicarbazones 2,4 react with selenium dioxide to give the 1,2,3-selenadiazoles 3,5. Dependent ont he ring size, thermolysis of 3,5 leads to benzocycloalkenynes 6, selenophenes 7, and 1,4-diselenins 8. The thermal fragmentation is very suitable for the in situ formation of 7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-5,6-didehydrobenzocyclooctene (6a) and 6, 7-dihydro-8-9-didehydro-5H-benzocycloheptene (6b), two highly strained cycloalkynes.

Aus den Semicarbazonen 2,4 erhält man mit Selendioxid die 1,2,3-Selenadiazole 3,5. In von der Ringgröße abhängigen Anteilen werden als Thermolyseprodukte von 3,5 die Benzocycloalkenine 6, die Selenophen 7 und die 1,4-Diselenine 8 gefunden. Die thermische Fragmentierung eignet sich gut zur in situ-Darstellung von 7,8,9,10-Tetrahydro-5,6-didehydrobenzocycloocten (6a) und 6,7-Dihydro-8,9-didehydro-5H-benzocyclohepten (6b), zweier hochgespannter Cycloalkine.
