Description: Salinity effects on brooders spawning, growth and survival rate of yellow fin sea bream (〈i〉Acanthopagrus latus〈/i〉) fingerlings was studied in Khouzestan Marine Fishes Research Station (Bandar-e Imam) in 2002- 2003. More than 200 brooders were caught in Mahshar creeks using hook, and 6 males and 3 females of brooders were introduced to each 4 tons tank. The experiments were carried out using 3 salinity treatments (30~c1, 35~c1 and 40~c1 ppt) in 3 replications. Survival rate of brooders in 4 tons tanks during late January to 4〈super〉th〈/super〉 April was estimated more than %90 in all salinities and the maximum rate was observed in 30 ppt treatment. Spawned brooders percentage in 40 ppt was more than the two other salinities, and spawning occurred in all three replications of this treatment. In all treatment, spawning started from early march (late lunar month) at 19~'C and continued at 23~'C. Duration and replication of spawnings in 40 ppt were more than other salinities, and last about 20 days. Released eggs (2461046), amount of eggs production per day (66413), average number of eggs per brooder (312914), and average eggs per kg body weight (649460) were found in 40 ppt more than other salinities. Floating eggs ratio was more than %90 in 40 ppt and it was significantly different to the others. Fertilization and hatching rates in 40 ppt treatment (86.7, 67 respectively) were more than 30 and 35 ppt but there was no significant difference. All spawnings cases , released eggs hatched.

Description: An experiment was conducted to evaluate the possibility of adaptation, growth and survival of Red and Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in underground brackish water. Fry with 0.3 and 0.7 g initial weight imported from Indonesia and after passing larviculture (20 g) were examined separately in fiber glass tank and earthen pond by two replicate. Fish were fed three times a day by using manual food (cp = 33.79) and carp food (cp = 25.05) at a restricted feeding program according to standard table during the 72 days rearing stage at light period. The results showed that some growth factors such as final weight, final length, daily growth rate, specific growth rate and weight gain in Nile tilapia were slightly higher than red tilapia but other factors such as survival and feed conversion rate in red tilapia were slightly higher than Nile tilapia. There were no significantly differences at 99% level among these factors. Length-weight relationship equation was w = 0.020 × TL3.012 in Nile tilapia and w = 0.015 × TL3.086 in red tilapia (r2 = 0.98), b value was 3.012 and 3.086 respectively in Nile and red tilapia representing isometric growth. So according to the results, good growth and high survival rate, it seems that both Nile and red tilapia could be good candidates for reproducing and rearing in brackish water condition.

Description: The aquaculture activity in provinces of north of Iran, in spite of fast progressive and possess a series of achievement and success, there was some failure, difficulties, limitation and restriction. To planning for further expansion in this faild, this study is managed. The culture of rainbow trout is practice in individual farms, small farms, water resources, earthen ponds, recycling ponds etc, which each method have its potential , failure and limitation that are consider in the present work. At the end, based on the situation of production in past years, and considering each of factors mentioned above, the success, failure, difficulties, limitation and restriction points of aquaculture of rainbow trout in technical poin of view are investigated and some command for improvement for each production method are presented. The development of aquaculture in recent years is based on extention of farms and increasing dencity of fish in fish pond. In contrast of many production activities, the propagation and culture of fish is inconstant work. This variability makes a potential for better income, occupation and job, increasing in production etc. This study make a better planning using this activity.

Description: This study has been carried out to determine the possibility of producing Gattan fish (Barbus xanthopterus) brooders in captivity condition. For this reason during in year 2004-2005, 600 specimen of Gattan in three pond and in 2008, from two local point shilat and research center, 200 specimen in two ponds were placed. The area of each pond was 1800 square meters. In the first period of rearing, total weight and total length of nearly two years old brooders reached to 989 g and 44 cm respectively. All of the fishes were male (except one case) and they had become mature. In second rearing period, 27 percent of shilat specimens and 42 percent of research center specimens were female. In 22 months old fishes, the males and females of shilat specimens reached to mean weight 716 and 658 g and mean length 382 and 365 cm respectively. Also, the male and females of research center specimens reached to mean weight was 1195 and 11064 g and mean length 443 and 425 cm respectively, when they were 22 months old. The absolute and specific growth rate in two rearing periods showed ascending trend and the 100 percent of brooders were survived. The male fishes were matured in 2 years old and the mature female fishes were not observed. The brooders response to pituitary extract in research center specimens was found to be more than shilat specimens.

Description: This survey carried out during 3 years. We surveied posibility of artifishial hatching of Gattan(Barbus xanthopetrus). We fished brood stocks from Karkheh river and transferd them to fresh water hatcharies. We held some of brood stocks in pond and the rest were treated with hormons. We used PG as a couse in the first year. Also pure LRHA and compound of LRHA with PG or pure GnRH with metacholrooramid were used in next years. The quantity of esperms were increased after using hormon and many of female which were injected with PG became fertile. Injection of hormons carried out in one stage or two stages with 10-12 hour interval. In the third year of the project because of existence of enough brood stocks;our test were more completly..We used PG hormon and other artificial hormons for 26 femals brood stocks.15pieces or them became fertile;then handing spowning carried out on them. Larves transfered 6 days after development stages.47000 larves transfered to pond and fed with SFC They reached to 172 mg in weigth and 28 mm in length after 30 days.

Description: Iranian Cichlid is an invaluable ornamental species which is domesticated in Iran and called Iranocichla hormuzensis scientifically, is living in the Hormoz zone, Shahou River (between Bandar Abbas and Haji Abad). The first phase of the research project started in September of 2012 and lasted about 18 months, focused on adapting the wild cichlids to cope with the aquarium environment. Therefore, about 63 male and female of Iranian cichlids collected from the natural habitat, Shahou River, then moved to the nearest city, Bandar Abbas to and released in aquariums which were filled by water of River where they were living. After few days they moved to “innovative aquaculture technologies research station” and reared in 100 liter glass tanks to monitor their behaviors. By initial days, the Cichlids seemed to be stressed out significantly, they were flashing, hitting them to the aquarium, trying to jump out and get discolored due to strange environment. By days, the stressful treats decreased and the experiments coped with the new environment. At the next step, schools of 5-7 fish organized to pear up. The mortality rate collected daily and accidental biometry recorded fortnightly. The rearing temperature adjusted and was stable at 37˚C. Finally, the Cichlids were completely adopted and prepared for mating and breeding.

Description: This project was carried out in the year 2003 in Khuzestan province waters to determine the best artificial propagation techniques for mass production of Barbus xanthopterus. The fish is one of the most valuable and economic species in the area. The propagation was started in late March and continued till late April while suitable temperature was 21-24.5 C. A number of 23 female broodstock with mean weight and length 3.85±0.45kg and 64.95±21cm respectively with a sex ratio of 2:1 male to female were used in the process. The amount of hypophysis injection was 4mg/kg weight of fish and two injections with 10-12 h interval to 10:90 were undertaken. Spawning success was 87% in broodstock. Latency period was 15- 17h and the incubation duration was 59-60h in 23-25 C.The fish eggs has a low stickiness and the count of dry and water-absorbed eggs were 480±32 and 287±25g, respectively. In the twice-injected broodstock, the fertilization rate was 77.22±3.1%, the hatching rate was 81.2 ±1.89% and the survival rate was 83.4±2%. Size of the dry and water-absorbed eggs was 1248±45 and 2110±125, respectively. Washing time with fertilization liquid was 10 min for removing stickiness. In the end, 660 thousand larvae were produced and released to earthen ponds for culture.

Description: In order to achieve biotechnic normative of Sobaity Sparidentex hasta propagation and its fries rearing, 96 brood stocks were caught by using hook from Bandar Imam and Mahshahr creeks. For natural spawning, at first stage some selected broodstocks (sex ratio 2:1 & 1:1 male to female) were directly introduced to spawning tanks. In this method eggs were absorbed and spawning was not occured. For artificial spawning (natural spawning with hormone injection): At second stage for males, in one step, 40 g kg-1 and 200 Iu kg-1 body weight and for females, in two steps, 75 g kg-1 and 500 Iu kg-1 LRHa & HCG hormones were injected. After introducing broodstocks to 40- tone oval tanks, spawning occurred only in female and also some ingected broodstocks were spawned artificially and all obtained larvae died after four days. At third stage 6 g kg-1 and 1000 Iu kg-1 body weight of PG and HCG hormones were injected to broodstock respectively. HCG hormone injected in two steps (1/2 dose each stop in 24 hours duration). Metoclopramide was used at the first step and PG hormone injected with second step of HCG coincidentally. In this method spawning, fertilization and fry production occurred. The results indicated that sobaity, with hormone injection is able to spawn at 12-19 c (which is available in Khouzestan in March). The time of hatching was 42-50 hours, absorption of larvae Yolk sac 96-120 hours. The size of one- day- larvae was 1.4- 1.7mm and 65-day- fry was 24mm.
