Formaldehyd hingewiesen.

Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Molecular Structure of a Metal Cluster with Cubane Structure, [η5-C5H5Mo(CO)3HgMo]4(4)The compound [η5-C5H5Mo(CO)3HgMo]4 has been isolated as an additional product of the reaction between [η5-C5H5Mo(CO)3]2, 2-butenyl chloride, and sodium amalgam. The X-ray structure (R = 0·050) analysis of this novel species revealed that the compound has a slightly distorted cubane structure, for the first time the cubane unit being built up by two different metal atoms (Mo and Hg).

Description / Table of Contents: Investigations on the Catalysis of Ammonia Synthesis and Nitrogen Isotope Exchange by Lamellar Compounds of Graphite with Iron, Ruthenium, and OsmiumThe catalytic activity of transition metal potassium-graphite lamellar compounds for the synthesis of ammonia from the elements and the catalysis of the equilibration by isotope exchange of the isotopic nitrogen molecules are shown to correlate. Connections between the state of metal in the catalyst exist with iron as metal which is shown by Mössbauer spectroscopy and the catalytic activity in relation to the potassium content.

Notes: A number of new complexes containing trimethylphosphine oxide, tris(hydroxymethyl)phosphine oxide, triethylphosphine oxide, tripropylphosphine oxide, triisopropylphosphine oxide and tributylphosphine oxide is reported. The structures of the complexes have been deduced with the aid of physical measurement such as vibrational and ligand-field spectroscopy. The various factors that influence the structure of phosphoryl solvates and adducts are discussed.

Description / Table of Contents: The Crystal and Molecular Structure of C7H7RuC7H9 - (1-5-ν- Cycloheptadienyl)(1-5-ν-cyclohepatrienyl)ruthenium(II)The structure of the title compound 5 has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the space group P21/n, a = 644.2 ± 0.1 pm, b = 01775.8 ± 0.2 pm., c = 989.9 ± 0.1 pm, β = 97.72 ± 0.02°, Z = 4 (R = 0.035). The ruthenium atom is coordinated by a cyclohephtadienyl and cycloheptatrienyl ligand, both functioning as five electron ligands. One double bond of the cycloheptarienyl ligand does not interact with the central atom.

Laser-specific Reactions of Boron Compounds, VMercaptoboranes from the Reaction of Diborane with Hydrogen SulfideThe new and unstable compounds HB(SH)2 (1) and HB(SD)2 are formed by CO2-laser irradiation of a gaseous mixture of B2H6 and H2S or D2S, respectively. In addition, μ-mercapto-diborane, HSB2H5 (2), has been obtained. None of these compounds is produced in the thermal reaction of B2H6 and H2S.
