Description:
The effects of overcharge and total cycling rate on one electrochemically impregnated and four chemically impregnated nickel electrodes are examined. Topics discussed include porosity distribution, electrode corrosion, electrolyte absorption and positive electrode involvement in the decrease in the amount of electrolyte in the separator. The electrochemically impregnated electrode is shown to be superior to all types of conventionally impregnated electrodes regardless of the loading level.
