Description:
Bedrest and hypercapnia affected urinary mineral excretion. An increase in the excretion of magnesium, calcium, and inorganic phosphorus was noted during bedrest. Zinc excretion decreased during hypercapnia; however, this decrease was not significant when the experimental and preexperimental periods were compared. The combined effect of bedrest and hypercapnia was not synergistic for calcium excretion.
