Zusammenfassung Es wurden insgesamt 365 Patienten mit Down-Syndrom oder Verdacht auf Down-Syndrom chromosomal untersucht. Die Patienten stammen aus drei Heimen für geistig retardierte Kinder oder wurden von verschiedenen Kliniken zur Chromosomenanalyse an uns überwiesen. Diese beiden Stichproben unterscheiden sich insbesonders in ihren Anteilen an Mosaik-und Translokationstrisomien. In der Gesamtstichprobe weisen 94.8% der Patienten eine reguläre Trisomie G1 und je 2.6% eine Mosaiktrisomie oder Translokationstrisomie auf. Diese Ergebnisse stimmen mit denen aus der Literatur überein.

Summary Karyotype analyses of 365 patients with Down's Syndrome or presumptive Down's Syndrome are presented. About half of these patients are inmates of three institutions for the mentally retarded, the other patients were referred for chromosome analysis from various hospitals. These two series differ in the frequencies of mosaic and translocation trisomics. 94.8% of all cases had regular trisomy G1, 2.6% had mosaicism and 2.6% had translocation trisomy. These results agree well with other published surveys.
