Summary A method of solution is presented for a problem with two objectives of which one has to be maximized, the other to be minimized. The procedure is explained in terms of a computer distribution problem requiring maximum possible probability of success and minimum possible cost. Efficient solutions are found by multiple application of the Ford-Fulkerson algorithm to an auxiliary matrix with variable parameter. The necessity of weighting the objectives for the determination of the optimum is avoided by using selection rules derived from cost-effectiveness analysis.

Zusammenfassung Ein Lösungsweg für eine Aufgabe mit zwei Zielgrößen wird für den Fall vorgestellt, daß eine der Zielgrößen zu maximieren, die andere zu minimieren ist. Das Verfahren wird am Beispiel einer Verteilung vom Computern für größtmögliche Erfolgswahrscheinlichkeit bei möglichst geringen Kosten erläutert. Effiziente Lösungen werden dabei unter mehrfacher Anwendung des Ford-Fulkerson-Algorithmus auf eine parametrisch variierte Hilfsmatrix ermittelt. Bei der Bestimmung der günstigsten Lösung wird die Notwendigkeit zur Gewichtung der Zielgrößen dadurch vermieden, daß Auswahlregeln nach dem Prinzip einer Kostenwirksamkeitsanalyse angewandt werden.
