Notes: Four exchangers (8, 9, 16, and 17) with cryptate forming anchor-groups were prepared and their properties were studied. They were synthesized by the reaction of the cryptate formers 6 and 7 with chloromethylated polystyrene or by condensation of the cryptate formers 14 and 15 with formaldehyde or with formaldehyde/phenol. The exchangers were found to be very resistant towards heat and chemical attack. Their capacities for alkali salts amount to 1,0-1,3 mmol per gram of the air-dried resin.
