The usefulness of polarographic methods for investigating the initial stage of the reaction of melamine and urea with formaldehyde is discussed. Analytical methods for the determination of the overall formaldehyde content, free formaldehyde, methylol formaldehyde and oxidable formaldehyde are described.

In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden vorzugsweise polarographische Methoden zur Untersuchung der Anfangsphase der Reaktion von Melamin und Harnstoff mit Formaldehyd diskutiert und Analysenmethoden für die Bestimmung des Gesamtoformaldehyds, des freien Formaldehyds, des Methylolformaldehyds und des oxidierbaren Formaldehyds beschrieben.
