Notes: Infolge der hohen Wärmeentwicklung bei der Anlagerung von Natriumoxyd an das labile Natriummetaperjodat NaJO4 ist das entstehende Natriumorthoperjodat Na5 JO6 thermodynamisch stabil, d. h., es kann aus niedrigen Oxydationsstufen des Jods mit Hilfe von freiem Sauerstoff gewonnen werden. J7+ kann maximal 6, das kleinere Cl7+ aber nicht mehr als 4 O2- anlagern; beim Perchlorat ist eine derartige Stabilisierung infolgedessen nicht möglich.
