Notes: 1. Trithionat läßt sich durch Oxydation zu Sulfat mit Hilfe von Kupfersalzen quantitativ bestimmen, indem man die salzsaure Lösung des Polythionats mit 10%iger Bariumchloridlösung und 10%iger Kupferchloridlösung eine Stunde lang kocht. Diese Reaktion versagt bei Anwesenheit von Tetrathionat, Thiosulfat und Sulfit; hingegen ist die Anwesenheit von Pentathionat, Dithionat, Sulfat und Schwefel nicht störend.
