On Iron Gallic InkFrom Iron(III) chloride and gallic acid in gels single crystals could be obtained which will be the dye-stuff of iron gallic ink. The structure consists of a hexagonal iron gallic acid 1:1 framework. The oxidation state three of the iron could be confirmed by Mössbauer and XANES spectroscopy.

Durch Kristallisation in Gelen erhält man aus Gallussäure und Eisen(III)-chlorid Einkristalle, die einen der wesentlichen Farbstoffe der Eisengallustinte darstellen dürften. Die Struktur besteht aus einem hexagonalen Gallussäure-Eisen-1: 1-Gerüst, in dessen Kanälen Hydronium-Ionen den Ladungsausgleich bewirken. Die Oxidationsstufe drei des Eisens wurde mit Mössbauer- und XANES-Spektroskopie bestätigt.
