Determination of the Phase Width of Zinc OxideThe homogeneity range of zinc oxide was determined coulometrically by oxydation of non-stoichiometric samples in a gas-solid-phase-reaction using a solid electrolyte cell. Single crystals with the composition according to the lower phase boundary were prepared by chemical transport reaction. The deviation of the lower phase boundary from the stoichiometric composition depends upon the temperature amounting to 30-240 ppm in the region 800-1100°C.

Das Homogenitätsgebiet von Zinkoxid wurde durch Oxydation unterstöchiometrischer Proben in einer Gas-Festreaktion mit einer Festelektrolytzelle coulometrisch bestimmt. Die Darstellung der Einkristalle der unteren Phasengrenzzusammensetzung erfolgte durch chemischen Transport. Die Abweichung von der stöchiometrischen Zusammensetzung der unteren Phasengrenze hängt von der Temperatur ab und liegt zwischen 30 und 240 ppm im Bereich von 800-1100°C.
