Electronic Spectrum and Enthalpy of Formation of the gaseous Complex CrAl2Cl8At 600 K Al2Cl6,g reacts with CrCl2,8 giving the gaseous complex CrAl2Cl8. From measurements of the absorption spectrum (vmax = 11.6 kK; ∊ = 53.01/Mol · cm) it is to conclude that Cr has an octahedral (distorted) Cl coordination.For the equilibrium CrCl2,s + Al2Cl6,g = CrAl2Cl8,g at ∼600 K the data ΔH° = 9.07 kcal/Mol; ΔS° = 11.0 eu have been derived.

Wirkt Al2Cl6,g bei ∼ 600 K auf CrCl2,f ein, so entsteht der gasförmige Komplex CrAl2Cl8. Aus der gemessenen Extinktion (vmax = 11,6 kK; ∊ = 53,0/l Mol · cm) ist zu schließen, daß Cr (verzerrt) oktaedrisch von Cl umgeben ist.Für das Gleichgewicht CrCl2,f + Al2Cl6,g.
