On mixing 0.1-0.5 M sodium aluminate and silicate solutions at room temperature, X-ray amorphous gels of the composition 3 SiO2 · 1-1.2 Al2O3 · 1-1.2 Na2O · aq are precipitated. From their constant composition (not depending on the precipitation conditions), their properties, and the occurrence of uniform, dimeric silicate units in their acid dissolutions it is concluded that these gels are a definite compound. A structure model is proposed.

Beim Zusammengeben von 0,1-0,5 molaren Na-Aluminat- und -Silicatlösungen bilden sich bei Zimmertemperatur röntgenamorphe Produkte der Zusammensetzung 3 SiO2 · 1-1,2 Al2O3 · 1-1,2 Al2O3 · 1-1,2 Na2O · aq. Aus der von den Fällungsbedingungen unabhängigen konstanten Zusammensetzung der Fällungsprodukte, ihren Eigenschaften und dem Auftreten einheitlicher, dimerer Silicatbausteine in den sauren Lösungen der Gele wird geschlossen, daß es sich bei den Gelen um eine definierte chemische Verbindung handelt. Es wird ein Strukturvorschlag für diese Verbindung angegeben.
