On heating Na2HPO3 with surplus LiH at 330°C in N2 atmosphere, 22-36% of the P(III) compound are oxidized to hypophosphate. Furthermore, metaphosphite and orthophosphate (by disproportionation of Na2PO3 radicals), phosphide (by reduction of Na2HPO3), hydrogen, and Li3N are formed, but no PH3.

Während des Erhitzens von Na2HPO3 mit einem Überschuß von LiH auf eine Temperatur von 330°C in Stickstoffatmosphäre werden 22-36% Na2HPO3 zu Subphosphat oxydiert. Außerdem entstehen Metaphosphit und Orthophosphat als Produkte der Disproportionierung der Radikale [Na2PO3]°, ferner Phosphid (Produkt der Reduktion von Na2HPO3) Wasserstoff, und Li3N, aber kein PH3.
