Tricarbonyl trialkinyl complexes of zerovalent chromium are prepared in liquid ammonia according to the equation The complexes are not explosive but pyrophoric and highly sensitive to moisture.It is shown by IR-spectra that the Cr—CO bonds have much more double bond character than the Cr—C≡CR bonds.

Durch Umsetzung einer Lösung von Chromtricarbonyltriammin in flüssigem Ammoniak mit den Kaliumsalzen von Acetylen, Propin und Phenylacetylen werden nach der Gleichung die in Ammoniak mehr oder weniger schwerlöslichen Kalium-tricarbonyltrialkinylchromate(O) erhalten. Die olivgrün bis orangefarbenen kristallinen Fällungen sind nicht berührungsempfindlich, zum Teil jedoch pyrophor. Die Protolyse der Komplexe durch Wasser oder verdünnte Mineralsäuren führt unter Bildung organischer Sekundärprodukte zur teilweisen Entbindung der freien Alkine und deren Hydrierungsprodukte.Die IR-Spektren der Komplexe zeigen, daß die Cr—CO-Bindung einen wesentlich, stärkeren Doppelbindungscharakter besitzt als die Cr—C≡CR-Bindung.
