In the system Al/Be/B a ternary compound with the idealised composition AlBeB has been observed as a fine crystalline dark substance. It crystallises with an antifluorite structure, with ordered Be- and Al-atoms in the metal positions. On account of partial formation of mixed crystalls with Be2B, the ratio Be:Al is always greater than one and dependent on the conditions of preparation. The lattice constant varies between 4.952Å and 4.925 Å. Density, solubility, and the stability of the compound have been examined.

Im System Al/Bc/B wurde eine ternäre Verbindung mit der idealisierten Zusammensetzung AlBeB als feinkristalline, dunkle Substanz aufgefunden. Sie kristallisiert im Antifluoritgitter, dessen Metallagen geordnet mit Be- und Al-Atomen besetzt sind. Infolge teilweiser Mischkristallbildung mit Be2B wurde das Verhältnis Be:Al stets etwas größer als eins und von den Darstellungsbedingungen abhängig gefunden. Dabei schwankte die Gitterkonstante zwischen 4,952 und 4,925 Å. Die Dichte, Löslichkeit und der Stabilitätsbereich der Verbindung wurden untersucht.
