Die Synthese des 17-Iso-allopregnans wird beschrieben. 17-Iso-ätio-allocholansäure wird über das Säurechlorid in 21-Diazo-17-isoallopregnanon-(20) und dieses in 17-Iso-allopregnansäure-(21) übergeführt, die über drei Stufen zum gesuchten Kohlenwasserstoff reduziert wird. Bei der Wolff'schen Umlagerung des Diazoketons tritt somit keine Isomerisierung an C-17 ein. Aus normaler Ätio-allocholansäure wird über das 21-Diazo-allopregnanon-(20) die bekannte normale Allopregnansäure-(21) erhalten, die sich in bekannter Weise analog in Allopregnan überführen lässt.
