Conformation of (E)-1,3,4,5-Tetra-O-acetyl-2,6-anhydro-D-arabino-hex-1-enitol in the Crystalline StateThe title compound 3, a pyranose derivative containing an exocyclic double bond, adopts in the crystalline state as well as in solution 5C2(D) conformation. Substituents at C-3 and C-4 are thus axial positioned. This was verified by X-ray analysis of 3 (R = 0.055 and Rw = 0.025 for 1791 reflexions).

Die Titelverbindung 3, ein Pyranosederivat mit exocyclischer Doppelbindung, liegt im Kristall ebenso wie in Lösung in einer 5C2(D)-Konformation vor. Die Substituenten an C-3 und C-4 nehmen hierbei eine axiale Position ein. Dies ergab die Röntgenstrukturanalyse von 3, die bis zu einem R-Wert von 0.055 (gewichtet: 0.025) für 1791 Reflexe verfeinert werden konnte.
