    Description / Table of Contents: Relationship between Optical Activity and Optical Purity of 2-Phenylpropanal (Hydratropaaldehyde)The maximum value for the optical rotation of (-)-(R)-2-phenylpropanal [α]25D ≍ -238° was evaluated. The relationships between sign of rotation and absolute configuration were established for 1,1-diethoxy-2-phenylpropane (3), 1-ethoxy-2-phenylpropane (4), and 2-phenyl-1-vinyloxypropane (5). For all these compounds the optical rotation of the pure antipodes has been evaluated.
    Notes: Für optisch reines (-)-(R)-2-Phenylpropanal (1) wurde der maximale Drehwert [α]25D ≍ -238° bestimmt. Außerdem wurde bei 1,1-Diäthoxy-2-phenylpropan (3), 1-Äthoxy-2-phenylpropan (4) und 2-Phenyl-1-vinyloxypropan (5) die Beziehung zwischen Drehungsvorzeichen und absoluter Konfiguration ermittelt und deren maximales Drehvermögen bestimmt.
