Polyvinyl Acetyl Acetates365th information on macromolecular compoundsUsing polyvinyl acetyl acetate as an example, the authors show that slight differences in the constitution of the starting products have a considerable influence on the behaviour of the plastics produced. Polyvinyl alcohols which have been subjected to different kinds of pre-treatment will in no way lead to compounds of the same degree of polymerization. Under suitable conditions the polyvinyl acetyl acetates can dissolve to form a molecular solution, and the reactive groups will then react in the same way as the reactive groups of acetoacetic esters of low molecular weight.

Am Polyvinyl-acetylacetat wird gezeigt, wie geringe Differenzen in der Konstitution der Ausgangsprodukte das Verhalten damit hergestellter Kunststoffe wesentlich beeinflussen. Verschieden vorbehandelte Polyvinylalkhole führen keineswegs zu polymereinheitlichen Verbindungen. Unter geeigneten Bedingungen können sich die Polyvinyl-acetylacetate molekular lösen und die reaktionsfähigen Gruppen reagieren dann gleich den reaktionsfähigen Gruppen niedermolekularer Acetessigester.
