On the Clarification of the Constitution of Macromolecular PlasticsBecause of the polymolecularity of the macromolecular plastics and the often considerable influence of small, technically uncontrollable test deviations, it is impossible in principle to obtain synthetic plastic and fibrous materials with properties which are completely uniform at all times. The special features of macromolecular chemistry in contrast with low-molecular and colloidal chemistry are shown, using the identification, purification, shape alteration and constitutional determination as examples.

Wegen der Polymolekularität der makromolekularen Kunststoffe und des oft großen Einflusses kleiner, technisch unkontrollierbarer Versuchsabweichungen ist es prinzipiell unmöglich, synthetische Kunst- und Faserstoffe von stets völlig gleichen Eigenschaften zu erhalten. An Beispielen der Identifizierung, Reinigung, Gestaltsänderung und Konstitutionsaufklärung werden die Besonderheiten der makromolekularen Chemie gegenüber der niedermolekularen Chemie und der Kolloidchemie gezeigt.
