Partially Benzylated Carbohydrates, 4. Quantitative Determination of Gas Chromatographically Unresolved Isomeric Carbohydrate DerivativesMethyl 2,3- (8) and 2,3-(8) and 2,4,-di-O-benzyl- (9) as well as methyl 2,3,6- (15) and 2,4,6-tri-O-benzyl-α-D-glucopyranoside (16) can not be separated by gas liquid chromatography. However, the compositions of 8/9 and 15/16 mixtures can be determined quantitatively (±5%) by combined glc/ms from the intensities of „characteristic“ fragments.
Notes:
Methyl-2-3-(8) und -2,4-di-O-benzyl-(9) as well as methyl 2,3,6- (15) and 2,4,6-tri-O-benzyl-α-D-glucopyranoside (16) ließen sich gaschromatographisch nicht trennen. Die Zusammensetzung von 8/9- und 15/16-Gemischen läßt sich jedoch durch gekoppelte GC/MS an Hand der Intensitäten „charakteristischer“ Fragmente quantitativ bestimmen (±5%).
