The Synthesis of Optically Active Tricarbonyl(cyclobutadiene)iron ComplexesThe tetrahalogencyclobutanes 4, available by photochemical addition of dibromomaleinimide to 1,2- dichloroethylen, could be converted in good yield - via concurrent dehalogenation and complexation with nonacarbonyldiiron - into the cyclobutadiene complex 1 d By a sequence of reactions 1 d was transformed into the optically pure tricarbonyl(cyclobutadiene)-iron complexes 1 c, 1 i, and 1 j.

Die durch photochemische Addition von Dibrommaleinimid an 1,2-Dichloräthylen zugänglichen Tetrahalogencyclobutane 4 können durch enthalogenierende Komplexierung mit Nonacarbonyldieisen in guter Ausbeute in den Cyclobutadienkomplex 1 d übergeführt werden. Aus 1 d lassen sich durch eine Sequenz von Reaktionen die optisch reinen 1.2-disubstituierten Tricarbonyl(cyclobutadien)eisen-Komplexe 1 c, 1 i und 1 j darstellen.
