Rearrangements of Vinylogous Acyl Chlorides, XII. Synthesis of Pyrylium Salts from δ-Chlorosubstituted cis-Pentadienones with Lewis AcidsTreatment of the pentadienones 1a, b or the acyl chlorides 1c, d with Lewis acids (SnCl4, TiCl4, SbCl5, FeCl3) in CS2-solution at room temperature yields the pyrylium salts 2a-c. These are destabilized by the chlorine substitution and extremely sensitive to moisture. With water 2a-c yield the α-pyrones 3a-c. An α-pyrane intermediate is postulated for the reaction 1 → 2.

Die Pentadienone 1a, b oder die Säurechloride 1c, d ergeben mit Lewis-Säuren (SnCl4, TiCl4, SbCl5, FeCl3) in CS2-Lösung bei Raumtemperatur die Pyryliumsalze 2a-c. Diese sind durch die Chlorsubstitution destabilisiert und extrem feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Mit Wasser gehen sie in die α-Pyrone 3a-c über. Für die Reaktion 1 → 2 wird eine α-Pyran-Zwischenstufe postuliert.
