Bei der Untersuchung von 6 Hexachlor-cyclohexanen auf dem Heizmikroskop wurde an 4 Isomeren polymorphes Verhalten fest gestellt. β-und ζ -Hexachlor-cyclohexan besitzen je 2 monotrope Modifikationen; die instabilen Formen kristallisieren monoklin und sind sehr unbeständig. Das γ-Isomere tritt in 3 Modifikationen auf: I, rhombisch, Schmp. 113.6°, II, monoklin, Schmp. 113.5° und III, monoklin, Schmp. nicht bestimmbar. Die Modifikationen II und III verhalten sich gegen I entantiotrop. Der Umwandlungspunkt zwischen II und I liegt bei 112.5°, der zwischen III und I bei 86°. δ-Hexachlor-cyclohexan besitzt zwei enantiotrope Modifikationen (I. monoklin, Schmp. 139°, und II, hexagonal, Schmp. 138°) mit einem Umwandlungspunkt bei 132° und II, hexagonal, Schmp. 138°) mit einem Umwandlungspunkt bei 132°. Bei α-und ∊-Hexachlor-cyclohexan konnte nur eine einzige Kristallart beobachtet werden.
