Description / Table of Contents:
Lubrication and Treatment of Surfaces with Absolutely Pure Molybdenum-Di-SulfideThe degree of purity and of dispersion as essential criterion of effectiveness at extreme wear-The lubricating effect conditioned by the lammelar structure of the latticed crystals-High chemical and thermal stability-Preparation of adhering coatings of molybdenumsulfide by application of various binders. Some examples of the practical application of the MOLYKOTE-products are given and the charging of the lubricating film on various construction-elements is discussed. - The more intensive such films can be charged the more effective they are - Working - in of MOLYKOTE- powder into the material, e. g. sintered metals and plastics, causes a decrease of the coefficient of friction and of wear. These new lubricants are used chiefly in limit- resp. part-lubrications where the common lubricants of oils and fats would not meet the requirements owing to extreme conditions of pressure and temperature.
Notes:
