Climatology of highly dangerous (spontaneous) phenomena, which have been observed in the Russian Arctic in the years 1966-1985, is considered in the book by N. N. Bryazgin, A. A. Dementyev "Dangerous meteorological fenomena in the Russian Arctic". Territory under consideration includes the north-eastern part of the Barents Sea, the Kara, Laptev Seas, the southern part of the East Siberian Sea, the south-western part of the Chuckchi Sea and the near-polar region. Some data on conditions of unfavourable meteorological phenomena are given also for the southern coast of the Barents Sea, for the White Sea (mist, snow storms, low air temperatures) and for the foreign Arctic (mist, low air temperatures). This book is intended for hydrometeorologists studying environmental conditions of the Arctic regions, navigators, polar tourists, specialists, organizations exploiting natural resources or participating in liguidation of consequences of the spontaneous phenomena in the polar region of the Russian Federation.
