1996 wurde über den Stand der Arbeiten an einem Schutzprogramm für die Regenmoore in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern nach 3 Jahre währenden Untersuchungen berichtet (PRECKER & KRBETSCHEK 1996). Inzwischen wurden die Arbeiten abgeschlossen. Über den vorläufig abschliessenden Stand der Bearbeitung informiert diese Arbeit. Im Bundesland kommen Regenmoore auf 43 Standorten auf einer Fläche von knapp 50 km2 vor. Schwerpunkte der Verbreitung sind das Gebiet westlich und nordwestlich von Schwerin, die Einzugsgebiete der Flüsse Warnow und Recknitz sowie entlang der Küste zwischen Rostock und Ueckermünde. Daneben kommen einige Regenmoore in exponierter Lage vor.
Berichtet wird über die Verteilung der Vegetationsformen in den Mooren auf der Grundlage neuerer Kartierungen, über 10 neu gefundene Moore, über neu hinzugekommene Erkenntnisse hinsichtlich ihrer typologischen Zuordnung und ihrer stratigraphischen Altersstellung.
Auf faunistische Untersuchungen und deren Indikationswert für die ökologische Situation der Moore wird hingewiesen. Eine Prioritätenliste für besonders zu schützende Moore wird vorgestellt.

In 1996 PRECKER & KRBETSCHEK reported in this place about the score of the works of a protecting programme for the raised bogs in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region (NE-Germany) after three years of investigations. Meanwhile the investigations were finished. This paper will give a temporary final report about the results in addition to the report of 1996. In the region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern we found 43 localisations of raised bogs with a total area of nearly 50 km2. Most of them are located in the western region between the city of Schwerin and the lake Schaalsee, inside the catchment areas of the rivers Warnow and Recknitz and along the coast area between Rostock and Ueckermünde. Beside that, some bogs have an exposed location.
This paper will report about the distribution of the types of vegetation inside the bogs on the basis of actual mapping, about 10 new found raised bogs, about new scientific findings regarding their systematical integration and about their geology.
Also the paper will give a view about faunistical investigations and their value of indication of the ecological situation of the bogs. A priority list for bogs that need special protection will be communicated.
