Im Rahmen eines Life-Projektes wurden mehrere große Niedermoore innerhalb des Naturparkes Nossentiner/ Schwinzer Heide untersucht. Sie repräsentieren hinsichtlich Naturausstattung, Entwicklungstyp und Erhaltungszustand verschiedene Moortypen. Ergebnisse stratigraphischer, hydrologischer und vegetationskundlicher Untersuchungen werden vorgestellt. Aus der Kenntnis der Hydrologie der Niedermoore und ihrer Einzugsgebiete wurden Erhaltungs- und Wiedervernässungsmaßnahmen entwickelt. Die Auswirkungen der Wiedervemässungsmaßnahmen wurden untersucht, vor allem die Folgen für Wasserregime, Moorböden und Nutzung der Niedermoore.

Within the scope of a life-projekt several large fen areas, located in the Nature Reserve Nossentiner/ Schwinzer Heide, were investigated. They represent different types with respect to natural supply, type of development and state of preservation. The results of stratigraphical, hydrological and vegetational investigations are presented here. By knowledge of the hydrology of the fens and their surrounding areas conservation and rewetting measures have been developed. The effects of rewetting measures were investigated, especially consequences for the hydrological regime, fen soils and the land use of the fen areas as a whole.
